i went to my gp today coz DD was sick and he was asking how the pregnancy was going. i said it was good, cant wait till i have bubs, and he said and how do i feel about having this one early?!?
my ob and gp have been corresponding throughout my pregnancy and the ob sent my gp a letter saying that due to my babies already bgger size, he wants to induce me 4 weeks earlier.
well thanks for letting me know.
im hoping that now becuse my diabetes is settleddown alot that bub will stop growing so fast, and i will ba able to have him/her on the due date or around there.
i really dont want to have another premmie baby, i want to have this bub in my hopsital room with me, rather than in the nicu for the first1-4 weeks of their life.
i feel i missed out on a heap of bonding time with my other two from this.
:fingerscrossed: i can keep my suger levels down.

Oh wow nice of them to let you know. Its a shame they would rather you have a prem baby than one thats a bit bigger than average. My ob said I was having a big baby so induced me 2 days early as they put on most of there weight in the last 2 weeks. My baby boy was only 7lb8oz born...lol..

Wow - 4 weeks early by induction - does not sound ideal. :fingerscrossed: That now everything is under control bubs migth slow down a little and you can go a little longer.
Just remember though that they can be out by heaps with their estimates of the babies size. I know someone who had bubs 2 weeks early by c-section as they told her bubs was really small and wanted to get him out. Ended up being a healthy 7lb 6oz - so not small at all for 2weeks early.

Yep - even if you do go 4wks early it may not necessarily mean that long a stay in special care. Harriet was 4wks to the day early and she was still a great 6lb 6oz. Was slightly concussed during labour so they kept her in special care nursery for the first 2nights just to keep an eye on her but other then that we were allowed to have her in our room during the day. Good luck with the diabetes over the coming months.

That's completely unprofessional of your care providers. All correspondence should go through you, or at least have your express permission to be forwarded on. Also, your pregnancy is your pregnancy, and if you feel that your baby is in more danger by being born 4 weeks early, you can't be made to be induced. Just remember - your the boss! Take care, and good luck with it all! :)
