The runs and smelly fluffs

My 22 month old has had very runny smelly poos the last 24 hours...plus his fluffs have smelt like really really bad rotten eggs.

He hasn't eaten anything out of the ordinary in that time.

He is refusing alot of food and just wants to guzzle water.

Any tips on do's and don'ts with bub...he really hasn't ever had a gastro type thing before...

My MIL changed one of his nappies yesterday and said it looked like it had sort of mucus in it.

So should I avoid dairy? Just give him plain arrowroot biscuits, toast, rice etc.

I'm trying not to head to far from home because the acid from the runs is starting to give him a bit of nappy rash too.

He cheered up a bit this morning when I gave him a present (the one he was meant to get from santa today at our bubhub christmas party:( ).

hi, definitely sounds as if he might be getting (or has) gastro. definitely keep him off dairy, give dry food, as you mentioned toast, arrowroots. and its great that he is drinking plenty of water, he needs to keep hydrated. if he is getting a rash from too much poo, give him a nice bath, this will ease the soreness. re the mucus? i would definitely seek medical advice on that.
