Does anyone have smoothie recipes to share with me?
We just got a blender/bullet thingo for our enagement and i have been crazy with it trying all new things.
But the main one i stick to is one with Fresh bananas, ice, strawberry frozen yoghurt, natural yoghurt, wheatgerm, museli & honey.
But i want new ideas??

Also, does anyone know where to get plain frozen yoghurt from?? Its so hard to find.

my favourite smoothies are the apple smoothies from Wendys so this is what i do to make them at home

I buy a tub of there apple sorbet from "Wendys"
apple juice

i then put a couple of spoonfuls of the sorbet in the blender or whatever it is you use.
i also have an avalanche machine that crushes ice so i crush the ice add that with the sorbet
add the apple juice and wolah apple smoothie

I usually just put in mixed fruit. Bananas, mango, strawberries and some ice-cream and some milk (more a milk shake then a smoothie, but anyway). I also put in a bit of vanilla yogurt sometimes too.

ETA: When I was pregnant with Hayley I craved Wendy's smoothies (strawberry smoothie) and with this bubba I am craving New Zealand Natural smoothies (mango)

Icecream (2 scoops) 1 banana, espresso coffee and a dash or 2 of mango nectar. (Its called a Jumpy Monkey) They where on the menu at the Jamaica Blue I used to work at and one got ordered by mistake so the girls made me try it- talk about a pick-me-up! It wont be everyones taste though ;-)

Mango ones are also great, frozen Mango puree or cheeks, mango nectar and mango icecream! Huzzah!
Also Banana berry smoothies - 1 banana + 1/2 cup frozen berries, icecream & mango nectar! These where created by myself when starting up a cafe. The banana berries sold like hotcakes!

Frozen berries are always good to have in the freezer for smoothies. They have a few new brands and varieties these days.

Cherry Ripe Smoothie
1/2 cup frozen skim milk
1/2 cup milk
1 cup cherries (canned or frozen)
1 tbsp chocolate topping
1/2 tsp coconut essence

Bounty Smoothie
1/2 cup frozen skim milk
1/2 cup skim milk
1/2 tsp coconut essence
1 tbsp chocolate topping

Mars Smoothie
1/2 cup frozen skim milk
1/2 cup skim milk
1 tbsp chocolate topping
1 tbsp caramel topping
1 tsp malt

I froze the milk in ice cube trays to make it easier for the blender. The bounty one is delish!

I make my DD2 a breakfast smoothie most school mornings;

1 x weetbix, 1 x banana, milk and honey

Sometimes I also add yoghurt.

She loves this, drinks it down quickly and it is much easier than trying to force her to eat breakfast!
