I have always given my 10 month old a bottle to go off to sleep and never taught her to self sooth. Now DF and I would like to start CC (the thought of it is so overwhelming) however: when she wakes at night (up to 4 times) how do I know if she is hungry or not? Sometimes she has 150ml sometimes 20ml. Should I just not give her any regardless? I read that at 10 mths they shouldn't be having night feeds , so just stop? Has anyone out there been settling their bub the same way I did and gone through Controlled crying?
Also should I put her to bed and go out of sight or stay where she can see me. Shut the door/ leave it open?

We did controlled comforting with our DS, always left the door slightly ajar so he could still hear us and would go in to settle him whenever required.

We did this only for the evening sleep. If he woke during the night, I would always go to him and feed him if that's what he wanted. It got to the point though where he would cry for about 15 seconds and then put himself back to sleep which meant that we didn't do the feed. We really were guided by him.
