Any ideas, I'm out of panadol, its 11pm,home alone, kids asleep and I have the worst earache. All I have is nurofen, Why cant you take it whilst BF, you can give baby nurofen?
Any other ideas. I cant sleep due to pain?

Do you have a hot water bottle? Fill it up and lay on it or wet a face washer with really hot water and squeeze it out and hold it o your ear. It helps loosen any blockages and relieves the pain. I have suffered with terrible earaches all my life and have never once taken pain killers for them. I love my hottie!!!

Sorry to get back to you so late, just woke up & found the thread.
How old is bub? My GP told me that if bub is old enough to take Neurofen ie over 6 months, then you should be ok to take it also if needed. Still stick to Panadol when you can but the occasional neurofen shouldn't hurt :hugs:
I know i've had to take them in the past & still do. They are the only thing that somewhat work when i get a migraine.
Goodluck :hugs:

BTW - you CAN take neurofen when you're breastfeeding. They give it to you in the maternity ward of the hospitals just after you've given birth, and sometimes for a number of days.
It does cross into the breastmilk, but as far as I'm aware, not in amounts great enough to pose any problems.
