Just a few q's for the experts please.....
have just gone and ordered myself a couple gk's and BBB. First of all, can any of the liners that comes with the BBB fit into the GK? if so, what one, long or short one?? Also I got the pretty colours of BBB and just wondering if they need the cover all the time?? Am hoping since it's bamboo that may not be the case. And the last q with regards to the PUL COVER, if I start with small, how long will they normally wear that size??(am expecting a fairly big boy so far) Thanks for helping a noob :D

Oooh Yay another newbie :yelclap: I am quite new myself and haven't tried BB before but you will be happy with your GK's! Just wanted to add that and will now let someone else answer your questions!
Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!
hello and welcome!
Boosters
yes, the BB boosters will fit in GKs, but you might want to save them for the BB! I find bamboo prefolds from babybeehinds and Cute Tooshies fantastic for pockects though. You could use whichever of the long/short boosters in your pocket nappy to add a tad more absorbency. think of the small booster as adding about half - one feed, and the long one as adding about 2 feeds of liquid - help?
Covers
they do need covers when in bed, carseat, in slings or with clothes over the top, but there's nothing to stop you from giving bubs tummy time or floor time with just the cloth nappy on (they don't go far to start with!) I have a friend who used to take her bub to the shops in a pram with a wool underlay on it (underneath bubs) in summer with no cover over the top - no probs. They basically prevent everything else from getting wet. Bamboo is pretty impressive in that it doesn't feel 'wet' as quickly as hemp and cotton do, but it will get damp and transfer moisture /wick into other fabrics.
Sizing
Oooh, small should fit to about 6 months, give or take, depending on bub's size and proportions! Not worth getting covers that are too big though, IMO, the secret to getting cloth nappies to work is having good covers that breathe and fit snug, and too big means you will have gaps.
HTH!

thanks heaps for the welcome and for answering my q's..........
there will be many more i'm sure once bubs is here!!
Mor's pretty well explain the BB's:thumbsup:
I was using terry flats up until dd2 was 9 mths old, then I got BB's and fell in love!! DD2 is now 16 mths old and is still in a medium cover, although I have to admit she's on the petite side!
1/2 the time I don't bother with covers if we're around the house, then again alot of the time I don't bother with a nappy (have been this way since birth) seeing as we don't have carpet and she loves it so much.
In regards to expecting a big boy the dr thought dd2 was going to be huge but she ended up only just being 7lb (3.2kg)!

LOL. Our Dr started off early predicting a big bub, then gradually he reduced his expectations from about 9lb - 8lb then 7.5lb. needless to say he was wrong and bub was 9lb 7oz.

 I had ppl asking me if I was having twins:eek: . I 1/2 expected a 'suprise' to pop out after I'd had dd2, you know like they'd missed something during the ultrasound and the whole pregnancy!!
aries_moon - lets hope bub isn't toooooo big, but there's not much you can really do about it is there! Wishing you a safe delivery no matter what the size:yes:
