Does anyone have any ideas as to how to get a bub to take a dummy?
I have spent a heap of money trying the most expensive through to the cheapest and he just cant seem to suck it unless you hold it in for him.
I know that this sounds like a good thing lol but for the times when he is screaming eg the car- the shops - the bank etc I would love to be able to pop a dummy in.
Would love any ideas:)

It took us weeks for lucy to keep her dummy in we got her one called mam with little bumps on it and it helped her like it I think... U just gota hold it in nearly 5mths later at times Im still holding it in for her and then there are times where all she wants is the comfort of the dummy and wont let go! some wuld say he might not want it but they are life savers try as best you can I say!

#1 wouldn't take one no matter what we tried, we gave up after spending $$$ trying different ones.
I didn't bother with #2 or #3, I prefer to pick up and comfort no matter where I am, even if that means pulling over and taking out of the car seat.
If the bub is bf'd, then they are better without one.
i was lucky my ds took it about 6 hrs after he was born hehe

My girl was never a dummy fan, but when she was only a few months old she found her thumb. Easy. No steralizing or worrying about it dropping on the floor or loosing it or cost. Maybe your baby will just be a thumb fan too?

My DD wont take one either:banghead: she only likes nipples
I found out what my boy liked to do while pacifying himself - in my case, he liked to hold my hand while he sucked my finger.
So I popped the dummy in his mouth and held my fist just in front of it (not touching it, he could spit it out if he wanted) and he'd hold my hand, over the course of a week I weened him off my hand :) Worked a treat :D
i cant really give u any tips cause my ds has pretty much had a dummy ever since he was born but he will only have the NUK dummies he wont take any other

Sorry I can't hlep DS would never have a dummy.
our bub alternates between loving it and sometimes its a struggle. wat helps us is to stroke the side of his face to encourage sucking and for us to make sucking noises near his face to give him the idea (abit embarrasing in public lol)

My dd took a little while to get used to hers too.
She kept on spitting it out all the time. Eventually with perseverence she got the hang of it.
