Nope, they just turn up unexpectedly - 'Oh, I forgot about them' I say to him.

He doesn't put any bans on me as he knows I would never conform anyway :D What a good man.

 I always ask, but he never says no to me for anything, even if we can't afford it. I have more trouble telling myself no than him telling me

DP and I are financially independant of each other so I don't have to tell him what I buy. We share our joint expenses.

I've spent quite a bit in materials to make some nappies but I've not billed him half. I'd feel too guilty!

Our accounts are linked, so I ask... I even ask if we have the money to get my hair done!! If I tracked how much money we have, etc, then I probably wouldn't ask... I'd just tell him.

But I would expect that he would ask me if he was making any largish/not everyday purchases.

Nope, but he knows i'm cautious with money. We have joint account but i pay all the bills and i don't think he even knows how much we have most of the time.

No, I don't ask.. he trusts me to manage the bills and other essential expenses first though, so that we don't get caught out.... But I really should slow down with the nappy purchases now! He does know how much they cost and generally how much is saved, we did the maths before I got hooked :D

Hell no!! Buy now explain later that's my policy. He usually doesn't notice until they've been washed and hung to dry.

He also thinks i'm having an affair with the delivery man  Well not really but he says it in a joking around kinda way of course.

Zada

lol....our delivery lady must be sick of coming here with parcels!! between me and dh, nappies & ebay:laughing:

He loves mcn's anyways so all is good :D

No I don't ask. He doesn't take any interest in nappies. I think he's scared he might be asked to change one if he takes too much notice of what is happening LOL.

lol charmzy - you have a good point there!
DH earns the money and I spend it so I dont get questioned....to often anyway. As long as the money being spent is benifiting DD he is usually ok with it. I do all the bill paying/grocery buying etc etc so as long as I am paying all of that and not going into debt on the CC he is usually ok.

OT - congrats on 1000 posts and how is Rutherglen? Haven't been there for a while.

I don't ask hubby really. I use available funds which are meant for the kids clothes etc. They have enough clothes. It saves him from looking for a box of sposoies on special and he saves 30 - 40 dollars.
I only ask what designs if I am getting custom - but he doesn't care any way. :)

I ask all the time and fall off my chair when he says yes! My new thing is that We used to spend $30 or more on disposables a fortnight so why cant i buy a new nappy every now and again!

not that he ever says no to me but he likes to be included in all decisions made for us

My DF and I have joint finances, so I do inform/ask, but I usually buy out of my fortnightly "allowance" not his...he's started referring to the nappies as my "drug"! He's very understanding and even though his eyes glaze over now when I start :ecomcity: about it, he still tells me very understandingly to do what I think is best...great huh? He's started to tell me to buy more so :yelclap:

BTW, we went to his work xmas party this afternoon and DD was in her funky BB bamboos and after I'd changed her nappy, he proudly holds her up on the table and tells everyone to look at "bub's funky nappy!"!!!! He even told them about the 180 million sposies in landfill each year, etc etc etc...I was thoroughly impressed!!! :D He really loves the MCNs so I take that as the greeeeeeen light to go ahead and buy as many as I want and pretty much go nuts.

That's how you interpret it right?
