Hi ladies
I live in the SE of South Australia - have previously also live in several other country towns - and have 2 kids aged 2.8 years and 6 months. I work casually 4 mornings a week, have been married 19 years and both my kids were conceived through IVF. I look forward to chatting and meeting any other mum's in SA.

Hiya Shaz

I'm not sure if there are many SA girls here - certainly not Mt Gambier ones!

PS How did you go with news of your dad? I was thinking of you today....

Hi boomtish
Maybe you will be the closest (to MtG) that I will get :D At least someone knows where I live :p Some people think we live in a suburb just outside of Adelaide!

Today went better than expect. Dad has something wrong with his blood which prevents it from clotting quickly, if he starts bleeding he may need blood transfusions. He also has a cyst in his kidney, prostrate problems and osteoarthritis and needs a hip replacement which will be a complicated op due to his blood. At least for now, he ain't dying

Caught up with my sister from Perth, who also flew into Adelaide today. It was the first day I'd spent all day away from DS and DD, since DS was born 2 years and 8 months ago. How am I going to go when I need to spend the whole day and whole night away from him? :(

Thanks for thinking of me.

Hey Sharlee,

I told you I'd meet you here :D

I LOVE Mt. Gambier. My Aunty and Uncle lived there when I was young and we used to spend every holiday there - I have such fond memories of that place!!

Sorry to hear about your Dad :(

Wow, married for 19 years - we're coming up for 2 years on 1st November and I thought that was good (hey, DH first marriage didn't even last 12 months so I'm his longest standing wife so far, ha, ha)

Where in Perth is your sis from? I lived there for a year before meeting DH. I lived in Como (South Perth) and absolutely LOVED it over there. I would go back in a heartbeat, but now that we have Ozzy I think it's nice to be around our families.

Larissa

Thanks Larissa!

Oh that's excellent news about your dad Shaz. At least now they know what's wrong and can try and fix it.

I love Mt Gambier too. In fact, the only pregnant photo I have was when I was 39 weeks at Mt Gambier. How dumb were we driving 5 hours to Mt Gambier with only a week to go! Every town we went though DP would be looking for the hospital signs. I even did the walk down to the lake's edge. It was a struggle getting back up though let me tell you!

Hi Larissa, nice meeting your :D Congratulations on nearly being married 2 years, before you know it, it will soon be 5 then 10, 15...19! I have 2 sisters (one I disown) in Perth - both live in Ferndale, although one probably spends more time on the street :o . I've been there twice. I was in Adelaide yesterday and coming up again in December for the Wiggles, are you going? Do you live far from the city? We hope to move to Adelaide in the future...i keep telling DH we will shift when the kids start uni lol

boomtish, I've never even walked down to the bottom of the Blue Lake. But I will have to soon...just hope DS doesn't want to swim in it. Did you walk up to the tower too? I almost rolled down.

Wonder if anyone else will join in our conversation

Hey girls,

We used to play tricks on my poor naive cousin and tell him the reason the lake was blue was because someone used to dive down to the bottom every year and paint it blue!!! We drove through the Mount a couple of years ago and that has been the extent of my visiting for many years. I would really love to go back and do a proper visit.

Didn't know the wiggles were coming - I'm still a little out of the loop with the kiddies stuff, Oscar's only 3 months so he's not really into anything!!! When you do come to Adelaide though, let me know and we can catch up for a coffee.

Boomtish - are you crazy???? I was firmly parked on my couch (on top of loads of old towels in case my waters broke) at 39 weeks. In hindsight though I perhaps should have taken a trip to the Mount and done the climb - Ozzy was induced at nearly 41 weeks. Do you live SE also??

I'm in the southern suburbs of Adelaide, in Reynella.

Hi Larissa,
Is Reynella far from Marion Holiday Park? That is were we always stay.

What do you think of Daylight Saving? DS refused to go to bed at 7.30pm as it wasn't night-time. He kept looking out the window saying 'not dark'

Boomtish, how is your house sale going? Anything exciting happening in Murray Bridge? :D

It's pretty much straight down the hill from us - around 10 - 15 mins so that works out really well!!! Make sure you let me know next time you come over :D.

Luckily for us DS is to little to make the distinction between darkness and night time!! Plus we bought a block out blind for his room last week so that we can keep it as dark as possible. Daylight savings did throw his feeding schedule out a bit today though - but we got there in the end!!!

Hey girls - where have you gone??

Hi there
Still here. Finally got a day off work so DH has taken the kids to a birthday party and I'm staying home to do housework, supposedly

My computer is so damn slow on this site, only have dial-up and need to keep refreshing the page to see the whole page....makes me frustrated.

Yesterday we discovered Evany has a top eye tooth, it's her 3rd tooth. She had her 6 months vaccinations Wednesday. Did you know they give the polio injection with the other injections now, not as a syrup? I didn't know they had changed it.

We are thinking of staying 4 nights in Adelaide, starting from Thursday December 1st so we getting a proper break. DS wants to fly up, seeing he couldn't last week when I flew up to see Dad in QEH. It's normally a 4-5 hour trip to drive but with kids ends up taking over 6 hours with all the stops. So hopefully, me and the kids can fly up and then all drive back. DH will drive his work ute up and meet us at the airport. Just means I have to work more to save the money :) Got to make time to catch up with you!

How have you been?

Hey Shaz,

I heard that about the polio vaccinations. Apparently it's got something to do with they found some new cases of polio overseas where the virus had morphed to not be affected by the vaccine so now they've change it again to try and make sure that new strain doesn't take over...... or something like that!!

Would be good to catch up. Hopefully the weather will be nice by then. It's 31 in Adelaide today, but in true Adelaide fashion it is going to be 23 and raining tomorrow!!!

Well, I'm off to check out the uni website - I'm thinking that I should go back to uni while I'm home with kids rather than trying to do it when they go to school and then I'll be too old to go and use my qualifications!!!!

Make sure you let me know when you come down.

Larissa :)

Hi  I know this is a 'ghost thread' but I thought I'd try to bring it back to life incase Sharlee or any of the other South East LAdies still had email notifications attached to it.

I am from Adelaide but moving to Glencoe just outside of Mount Gambier late July. Our house is arriving mid June so we will be down there for 2 weeks staying at a caravan park. Then home again to pack and moving hopefully mid to late July at this stage.

Anyway, if anybody from this thread actually reads this... I look forward to talking toyou mor in the future and maybe even meeting youonce I'm down there
