well i guess most people like myself are/were looking for baby competitions throughout Brisbane....
Today i went to a baby show and my DS won 2 ribbons for cutest smile and for best casual wear, then came 2nd overall for his age group... mummy (me) was sooo proud :smiliedance:
So just before i left i picked up a small list of the next baby comps being held...
Thursday 14th December .. Logan Tavern .. Wemberly Rd Logan Central
2nd Feb 07 ... Deception Bay Community Hall
15th Feb 07 ... Aspley Hypermarket
These are the only dates i have gotten so far..
Today i was charged $8.00 to enter, $3.00 for best pic... and then to enter all the comps was $30.00 or you can simply pic and chose what ones you want to enter... they also have optional novelty best xmas outfit for the show on the 14th December....
May see you at one of them....

It would be great meeting with you all.. However i wont be attending any more baby shows i dont think...
I realised that although i was extremely overwhelmed by my son winning a trophy etc, i couldnt put him through it all again...
I always went off about my partner showing our son off as a prize pig and found that i too did it by going to the baby comp...
I know that whether or not my son had won a prize, he to me is the most adorable thing that i have ever laid my eyes on... I dont need to spend up to $50 for a trophy to tell me this. (and thats if ya lucky to actually win something).
I hope you all dont think i am having a whinge about it. But i find now that a baby comp shouldnt be to see who's child is better then anothers... or baby verse baby.. It should be a time where mothers can simply go and enjoy and share there experiences etc and get to know other parents that are going through the same stuff as what you are...
Anyway good luck to all that are going to attend it...

I go to Mother's Group or Playgroup to share experiences etc with other mothers. I might sound silly to you but I enjoy taking my children (well Ozzy, as Isla hasn't been in a comp yet) to the baby shows and dressing him up and having other ppl tell me he is cute as I too like you think my child is gorgeous. He loves it when he wins a prize and gets so proud of himself, to me it is helping him with confidence so I don't see anything wrong with entering the comps.
