Fires in Georgetown

Just wondering if someone can help me....

My mum lives in Georgetown and i spoke to her on Monday night and she said that there was really bad fires and that the only way out was by boat and that they are evacuating the town and then she kept saying that she isnt going to leave her house she said that the smoke was really bad and that her lungs were hurting....
My sister spoke to her this morning and she said that there were still bad fires
So im just wondering have they gotten worse?
Are they really evacuating?

Thankyou its just hard to get a straight answer out of my mum cause she dosent want to worry me...

:wave: Hi There, I am sure your Mum is ok, I have not heard anything about the Georgetown bush fries on the radio or TV. If there is anything on the news tonight I will let you know.
