Okay, not something you'd expect from me, but I feel I do need to create a balance after I posted the link to that Caesarean Art.
My 1st c/section, tho it's actual necessity is debatable, wasnt actually a bad experience in itself.
So I thought I'd share my art from my art journal (I'm not an artist, so go easy on your judgements :o ) which depicts the postive experience it was...
Would others also like to also contribute?
photos, drawings, paintings etc would be good, so those women who truly have no choice other than a c/section, can see that with a bit of tweaking, there is no reason why their c/section should be a traumatic experience....in fact, it can be really quite a sacred meeting between mother and child......
so here goes (remember, go easy on me!)

I must admit that I haven't looked at the other thread because I am having a planned c/s, so don't want to get upset. I do respect your right to post it though! I respect you even more for starting this thread.
I will post some of my photos when I can dig them up.....
Thanks for sharing Becca!

ps....his head was well wedged in the birth canal, as you can see from the extreme cone-head moulding. It only took about 24 hours to go back to normal.

Hey Becca,
Thanks for posting this positive one... I had an emergency c/s with DS and am pregnant again. Who knows how it will all go this time.
I have got no idea why, but I am glad that it's not all negative for you.
And you do look happy in the photo... what a lovely little man...

I had this in the 'other' thread so I thought I would move it here. My c-s followed a 26 hour labour and they ran me to theatre. It was all still quite traumatic and had it been another hour later, we would have had a very different outcome. Still, the experience is positive for me as I have been blessed with the life of my son.
I am sharing my 'art' with you.

wow! those pics are amazing, they have brought back memories of my birth...and not even traumatic ones, so I guess the thread is working:thumbsup:
here is our beautiful girl (http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y200/borntobemummy/000_0214.jpg) coming out
and here is my first real cuddle (http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y200/borntobemummy/000_0221.jpg)with her
(for the sake of the thread, I'll leave out the traumatic parts, and focus on the good...my daughter:hugs: )

OK, firstly, let me apologise for not looking at everyone's pics just now, but I'm on super-slow dial-up and I am also trying to be quick (have work to do!!)
But I did just want to say that becca, I looked at your artwork, and was very touched! What a positive and inspiring piece!
I had a very positive (albeit unwanted) c/s and I can feel your positivity in your art.
I was also able to have a quick look at your recovery photo & it too was beautiful!!
Thank you for sharing!! :D
