DD is currently snoozing in her pink bamboo BB as we speak! First time we've used them! SO excited!

I'm glad we're finally able to make the transition to using mostly natural fibres, she's been in 3/4 full-time cloth (terry towelling fitteds + PVC pants) since last Wednesday, we're just using a sposie o/n until I get a wool soaker/cover.

But she has nappy rash  Her perineum looks fine, but it's all over her hips, belly, and lower back, and she scratches the heck out of it when her nappy is off. Will this go away now that I'm using the organic fibres? I only wash with biodegradable and phosphate free laundry liquid too, so no harsh chemicals... and we're treating it with lots of nudie time and lucas pawpaw ointment and that is helping.

She never got this with the sposies, and I'm hoping it's just from the PVC pants, do you reckon it's just from the PVC?

Cheers!

PVC doesn't allow air to circulate (it doesn't breathe) which means moisture tends to build up quickly, hence alot of ppl experience nappy rash. While it's the cheaper alternative it really is the inferior alternative.
Look at a good quality PUL cover. PUL breathes, allowing moisture to escape, keeping bubs bum drier for longer. A PUL cover costs around $20. Baby Beehinds and Bummis are good ones to look at.

As for the rash your DD has atm, try some pawpaw cream, it's my miracle cream!
If it's a bacterial rash then you'd need to go to the DR as nothing but a script cream will get rid of it.

:smiliedance: for bare bum time! We don't have carpet and up until yesterday morning dd2 had never had a nappy rash, and I owe it all to aerating! She got a bit red around her vagina because I think she did her massive poo sometime during the night and was sopping wet by the morning:rolleyes: . I put pawpaw cream on it and it's already cleared up:thumbsup:
