Ok....who goes to a Spiritualist church?
See, NOW you're talking my language! :) I haven't been to a spiritualist church, but there is one near me I've been interested in having a look at. I attend a course that involves meditation, psychometry, aura reading, and basically becoming acquainted with our higher self. I really love it. My intuition has become much stronger since doing it and I've had a voice in my head once or twice (yes, an actual voice in my head that isn't MY voice.. as if someone was in the room with me  ).
I've pulled out my tarot cards and done readings for some of my fellow bubhubbers.. some of it quite accurate, some not - but I'm still practising. Cards are amazing. Another thing I'm looking forward to doing more of when I finish uni!
Yeah, I'm a bit careful who I tell that story to KB. Luckily no-one knows me here so I don't mind too much if you all think I'm a bit looney. ;)
I read runes - Ive had them for about 20 years and find them pretty accurate and informative - in a moment of boredom 8 years ago I even wrote a Windows program that does rune readings which a few of my friends have now:)
I have had my tarot read before which was pretty accurate at the time but I havent ever bought a set of cards. Once when a kid had a ghost tell me it was my dead brother which I told it i didnt have one - it kept saying was - I found out a few months later there was a still born baby boy
PHEW!!!! Thanks Cathyn. Was starting to think I was the only nut-job. :p
And how about you O's mum? Any encounters with the other side? Oh BTW, who loved the movie The Others?! Apparently that's pretty close to the truth. Creepy, huh?
The Others was really scary!
My BIL committed suicide and on the day of his funeral, at the wake, my sister's telly and stereo wouldn't work. My sister got really cranky (we wanted to listen to a CD or something) so she yelled at BIL to cut it out and the stereo turned on. It was really freaky.

sorry to butt in here, but rach (boomtish) your DD is just so absolutely completely gorgeous!!!!
:)
on the topic now, my spiritual teacher (a buddhist nun) is way psychic and told me at 8 weeks that i would be having a girl and that her coming would heal generations of mother-daughter problems, both of which came/are coming true!!!!
i can't wait to see her next and ask her what this one is going to be. Who wants to wait til the 20 week scan if you don't have to!!!!
:p
PHEW!!!! Thanks Cathyn. Was starting to think I was the only nut-job. :p
LOL i think a few people think I'm slightly 'eccentric' ;)
I also lived in a house that had a ghost - No one really believed me until they stayed there - most people believed after a few visits though. He wasnt a bad ghost after a few years became a little more visible - you'd see a blackish mist floating around the house and occasionly would appear as a human shape more out of the corner of eye though.. He once even turned on the outside light for a friend and me when we got back after dark - was saying should have left a light on and suddenly it was on - we looked at each other and said thanks...
Rach, KB.. both very weird (stories that is, not YOU! :D)
My DH lived in a haunted house when he was about 18-19 and going to uni, living away from home. About 2am every morning, the noises would start. He and his very tough flatmate used to sleep (cower) in the one room together and listen to the banging only to come out the next day and find furniture upturned, moved around etc.
One night banging started from inside the wardrobe.. the flatmate tried to open the door (would you??!!! ) but it was jammed shut. To the point that he put his foot on the door, pulled on the handle and it tipped away from the wall. He let go, my DH walked over and pulled on the door and it opened instantly (they seemed to like my DH better than the flatmate). One night the mirror fogged up and their was condensation on all the walls and ceiling and it was freezing cold. Another time, DH saw the whole family in the mirror staring back at him.
Apparently this went on for months... eventually they got some spiritual healer dude to clear the place and it turned out a family had burned to death in one part of the house. They weren't happy with how the house had been re-built so were merely expressing their disapproval. As you do.
i can't wait to see her next and ask her what this one is going to be. Who wants to wait til the 20 week scan if you don't have to!!!!
:p
I'm with you Alicesmum.. my psychic teacher was chatting to my little girl months before she was conceived (I'm 14wks now so still haven't had the scan). She kept saying to me "She's ready when you are.. she wants to come NOW". Another psychic/medium I saw when I was 7wks pregnant told me the minute I walked in the room that a beautiful little girl was bouncing around me, and she was apparently VERY excited to be coming and very happy with her choice of us as parents.
So I think it's a girl.. but again, people think I'm a nutjob when I say 'a psychic told me' so I revert to 'it' or 'he/she'...
I have to say I'll feel a bit silly if we get to that scan and it's a boy!
Cosmic..I'm gonna be too scared to get the bus in an hour to my class..in broad daylight amongst the throngs of people!!!
Thats really bed stuff man!!!
Oh you're right! Should I delete it and re-post it tonight?!! :p
Cause that's the only one I've got so I want to get the most mileage out of it!!! :D

NOT!
Oh gawd don’t get me started on this one. When we lived in Indonesia (you can back me up on this one O’s Mum that in Asia/Eastern cultures belief into ghost, magic man, etc etc). One of my nanny used to be a magic woman, and used to practice right in front of our eyes. Yep she could “predict” the future, say so and so will die- by accident and dead right she was! The person died instantly from a car accident!
I hate the words “ghost” although O’s mum reckons that our bubs apparently can see those sort of supernatural thing…
Ugh…
oh yeah babies are very tuned in to the other side!! Because they just came from spirit, they still have a very strong link.
My friend had a little girl who refused to go into her bedroom and when her mum asked her why she said she didn't like the old lady sitting in the rocking chair.
Yep.. no old lady there.

I'm not going to the toilet until Joshua is home :o
gee thanks cosmic!
On a more POSITIVE note, my psychic teacher also told me that if it is possible enough to relax and 'tune in' at your own birth (hard when it's your own, but maybe could do it if you attended someone elses) that you can actually see the guides and angels all in the room.. A birth is a huge spiritual event and she said if you get a glimpse of it, it's amazing. All the angels really DO rejoice. :D

What about Ouija Board, do you believe in them?
BTW Cosmic: I meant BAD stuff....not BED stuff...sorry my typo!!!
oh good, I wasn't sure if it was a kinky thing with you O's mum.. didn't want to go there. :p No seriously, I thought you meant as in bedtime stories!

am waiting for my reply...
What about Ouija Board, do you believe in them?
Had one, TM. And got rid of it. Before I began receiving my spiritual education, I thought they were fun and we did have some really funny experiences with some souls kicking around the place who dropped in for a chat.
But I now realise they are not necessarily the souls you want to be chatting to. Hence the getting rid of it!! My advice is to steer clear of them... :o

I'm actually reading this freaky site about ghost, wicthes...
Lets hope that my empty house in Devon is ghostless
Look at this about Bermuda Triangle:
A legendary triangle of Ocean lies between 3 countries upon the Atlantic ocean. The Cities are Bermuda, Puerto Rico and Fort Lauderdale. Ships, people and aeroplanes have been reported mysteriously disappearing off the face of the earth whilst travelling inside this triangle. It soon acquired the name "Devils Triangle" owing to peoples superstitions that the devil was at play on this stretch of ocean and gobbling up weary and lost travellers with great delight, but what actually was at play inside this triangle of rough water, is it really the devil?, or perhaps aliens are using this spot as their home base on earth. Maybe it really does contain a mystical vortex that sucks people down into a third dimension. ..
Do you really believe thats the case? I used to believe it still am
Just one funny ouija board story...
We ordered pizza, then got started chatting with 'Rusty'. That's what he called himself. Pizza arrived and we left it sitting on the table for ages because we were so caught up in this character Rusty.
Finally the little glass thing moved to spell out "P-I-Z-A..C-O-L-D".
And it was! :D
When we lived in Wangaratta we had a really old house - an old miners cottage over 100 years old. Anyway, we had some friends staying with us who saw a ghost of an old woman in the hallway and another one of an old man in the stable outside. We had never seen or heard anything so just dismissed it, thought they were a bit odd.
Anywayyyyyy, a little while later, we got talking to the old couple over the fence and told them about it and they told us that the house was renowned for being haunted ( ) and that the old man died up against the stable doors. And apparently the old woman had died in our bedroom, can't remember what of....
Oh and TM - I hate ouija boards - they scare the bejeezus out of me. I get chills thinking about my experiences with them....

Ugh Rach that is freaky and spooky! Go on tell us more about your Ouijaboard experience! :)
Yeah, let's hear it!
By the way.. when I posting waaay back, I missed Cathyns post about her haunted house! Sorry Cathyn. I'm so paranoid about ignoring people since that other etiquette thread!!
I think friendly ghosts sound good! Not like the ones my DH experienced. I actually think a lot of us have extra people living in our house - they just don't make themselves so obvious most of the time (or we aren't tuned in enough to 'see' them).
No offence taken Cosmic :) I think we posted about the same time there LOL - its easy to miss a comment sometimes when that happens.
Ouija boards i wont go near usually theres something about them that makes me uneasy i have to say I have NEVER wanted to use one
Well OK then..... here it is... it's pretty long - but bear with me...
I was probably about 18 or 19 I guess. My BF at the time worked at an old warehouse out in Mulgrave (Vic) and the guys he worked with throught it'd be "fun" to have a seance. They tried it one night after work and nothing much happened. They decided to make a ouija board - just cut up some cardboard, wrote letters on them, arranged them in a circle, got a shot glass. They did it in the tearoom! Anyway, they made contact with someone who identified himself as a devil (not THE devil) and when they tried to make him 'go away' it didn't work. So they just packed it all up and called it a night. Apparently you're not meant to turn the glass up the other way until you've 'closed' the circle or something  but they did it anyway. The next morning when they all came into work the warehouse was filled with fog and there was condensation on the walls.
Stupid BF told me all about it and I said "yeah right, sure, whatever" - totally sceptical. Couple of days later, I arrive home from work and the phone is ringing, I frantically try and find my keys, fumbling at the door for ages, phones still ringing. I finally get inside and answer it and all I can hear is BF and all his mates talking about nothing. So I hang up and IMMEDIATELY the phone rings (which is weird) so my hand isn't even off the phone from hanging it up, and I pick it up again and say "hello" in a slightly miffed voice. He asks why I'm cranky and I tell him about the fumbling keys etc etc and when I finally get to answer the phone he doesn't even talk to me. There's silence on the other end and he says that he didn't even call me - they were no where near the phone in the office. So I told him what they were saying. I am right.
By this stage I am starting to lose a bit of my scepticism.... so I go to the warehouse the following night to have a go at the ouija board. It's all set up on the tearoom table. I put my finger on the glass and my heart nearly stopped when, blow me down, the damn thing moved. Now I'm not an overly religious person, and I certainly wasn't back then, but I started muttering Hail Mary's under my breath I was so scared.
My heart returned to a more normal rhythm, we connected with a few boring entities (sorry entities). Then we get the devil dude back again and the glass starts running amok on the table, not spelling anything really, a swear word here and there. I start to freak out and take my finger off the glass. One of the guys falls off his chair backwards as though pushed, and John, this other guy stands up. John goes to help the other guy up, but stops, holds his head (like you have a headache) and then spews all over the wall - HORIZONTAL for about 2 metres. I kid you not. I ran out of the tearoom and through the warehouse (which was all misty) and locked myself in the car crying.
About 20 minutes later (I think, I couldn't tell) BF comes out and we drive back to my flat in silence. Don't know what happened to the guys inside, we just left. Never spoke of it again until a day or three later when we're driving somewhere and I notice that the radio's not working. He says "yeah the interior lights aren't either." Bit strange... then he tells me that the ouija letters are in the GLOVEBOX of the car!!! I immediately tell him to pull over, which was on the SE Freeway (just past Toorak Rd right near St Kevins where the river is underneath the freeway) and I grab the letters and toss them out the window over the edge into the Yarra. The radio comes on and so does the little light in the glovebox.
To this day I still get chills, my eyes fill up with prickly tears and I get goosebumps all over my back whenever I think of it. This happened 15 odd years ago and I still remember it like it was yesterday....
KIDDIES - DON'T MESS WITH THE OUIJA BOARD!! :(
Geeezzz - what a thread killer!! :o
lol rachel, how does one answer a post like that? major freakout!!! im glad the topic was bought up though, cause demons, bad spirits etc are real, and ouija boards are a great tool for them, people should stay away from them!!! even if you think you are talking to a nice person, you are never talking to who you think you are, its always a trickster
Your story Boomtish strongly reinforces the feelings I mentioned before about Quija boards  that would have been real scary...
Hey Rach, I had to go out today so I didn't see your story until just now. How freaky!!! Thank goodness nothing like that ever happened to us, but I certainly won't go near one again.
One day we did get my friend's grandmother so that was nice because she had lots of nice messages for the family.. but others told us stuff about our lives that was a bit freaky - and I have heard that they do that. Tell you things to get you to trust them but really they aren't necessarily trustworthy... Bad news! :o
i know this is completely off the topic for a sec, but o's mum your bubba always reminds me of wilson off home improvement, you always saw only part of his face lol (although your little man is a whole lot cuter than wilson, well what we can see of him anyway!)
yeah Erin I meant to tell you this morning your mailbox was full.. And I made the Wilson comment yesterday! :D

Well, thats just great!
I was just going to go to bed and then got in here and read your ghost story Boomtish and now I am ****ting myself!!!!! I am here on my own with the kiddies..I'm scwared!! :p No I'm not, i will be fine, its just my imagination now getting the better of me...self talk always helps lol.
I have had some freaky experiences too through the years, not like that but enough to make me beleive in the afterlife. I have felt cold air blown onto that back of my neck, I have felt something pull on a shirt while cooking, that one spun me out. I kept trying to see if it could of got caught on something, cupboard door but no. I have smelt things. like cigarette smoke or flowery scents or aftershave just in a room with no one being in there. Not full on but just whiffs.
I have seen the dark shadowy thing and have often had to double take thinking I saw someone standing in the hallway. I have had things come off of my walls that in now way could have fallen off from the house moving. Things have jumped not just fallen down.
Heaps of people that came to that house ( I have since moved) said that "something is in there. "I know" I would say. I was never scared of it though.
A few times I had thought the cat was on the bed, putting its paws into the bedding as they do when they are getting ready to settle, and there has been nothing there. I've gone to kick the cat off but no cat. I had felt tugging down the side of the bed , on the sheets and gone to swipe to shoo the cat away, no cat.
When I first moved into this house I would wake up and hear little footsteps on the floorbaords, thinking and waiting for Kaycee to come into my room. I even got up one night because I thought she had walked out into the lounge, she was asleep in bed.
This happend a few times and then because I was scared for being in a new house anyway, i asked it to go because I wasn't ready for it yet. I have heard it once since.
One day I was doing house work and just went outside and stood near my front tap, not knowing why I was there. My neighbour came out too and stood near her tap and we just looked at each other and laughed and walked back in. A week later she died. I remember "feeling" her alot of the time in the house and one night I asked her to give me a sign she was there because I didn't know if I was imagining it all , not even a minute later a John Lennon song came on the radio, she adored him. I freaked out .
I was at a party one night and there was a clairvoyant. I didn't say anything to her but listened to what she was talking about. We hadn't said two words to each other all night and then she looked at me and said that someone was with me. She described my freind to a tee and said she was standing behind me and that she wanted me to know that she comes to see me sometimes. She actaully passed away on my sons birthday.
I love all of this stuff, I do Angel cards with friends, I don't own any and don't do them all the time. Only when I have a strong feeling.
Whew, well now my eyes are really popping out of my head..lol I have to seriuosly turn this computer off.!!!
nighty nite.. :D
Look forward to hearing more spooky stories. I will just read them in the daytime..not right before I lay down to sleep!!!! :p

I have also had some odd experiences. Most of it happened in the year after my boyfriend of the time's death.
I used to stay with his housemates alot because i didn't want to be on my own in the flat I was in after moving interstate to be with this boy. We used to hear stuff at night like typing on the keyboard and the fridge door opening which was all comforting as it felt like he was still with us.
It all kind of drifted away after one night, I went back to their place after a party while the housemates stayed out. I took the cat to his bedroom and tried to get to sleep. Not long after I got into bed, footsteps started pacing up and down the hallway. The cat was gettng a little freaked out as was I. I think my heart actually stopped when the door handle started rattling. I started whispering "go away" and it faded away. I did eventually get to sleep but kept waking up feeling like a tall man in black was standing next to the bed. Of course, everytime I looked there was nothing there which sometimes makes it scarier.
We also had an experience with a ouji board that freaked me out. The first spirit was playingtricks, on me specifically. We did the usual stuff like asking who it was and stuff. We asked who the spirit was connected to by going round the room and of course it claimed to be connected to me and told us he knew my father and told us my father's name which noone else knew. We did end up getting rid of him but it freaked me out as he told us that he was attached to me. i still wonder if he is here as I type!
Wow.. they are both freaky stories! Chelle, how tragic that you moved interstate and your boyfriend died! In a way, sometimes it is nice when they come back so you know they are ok.
I had a few experiences a bit like Jo's cat on the bed one. I was going through a really difficult time a few years ago (of course it had to do with a MAN! :o) and I used to not sleep very well.. about 4-5 hrs a night max. Because I was so exhausted I spent a lot of time in that semi-conscious state where you're half asleep and half awake - and apparently that is when you are most open to spirits and stuff because you are so relaxed, like a deep meditation.
Every night I would feel someone pulling on my legs, as if trying to lift them up off the bed. I actually felt my legs lift, but not my actual legs if that makes sense. Like the spirit of my legs was being pulled up from my body (weird, huh?) I also felt a heaviness like someone had laid down on the bed beside me and I just totally froze in fear. I wasn't game to move or roll over but someone was SO on the bed with me.
One night I was lying in bed, just about to go to sleep and suddenly I found myself at the ceiling of my bedroom looking down at my body lying in the bed. No kidding! My immediate reaction was that I must be DEAD! So I totally freaked and them VOOMP immediately I was back in my body, shuddering. That was a spin-out.
Apparently when the spirits get stuck here, the best thing we can do is help them move on to the other side. I know a couple of people who do it.. sometimes because a house won't sell or something so they get called in. One medium told me that she went to a house and found a little girl (spirit) in the kitchen, her family had all been killed (including her but she hadn't passed over) and she was waiting for them to come home.. how many hundreds of years later!! When Ruth (the medium) walked in, the little spirit girl ran to her and threw her arms around her legs saying "Are you my mummy?" So Ruth called her mum to come and she said it was amazing to see the girl running to her mother. Apparently the white light we all hear about only stays open for a certain period of time so if you miss it, you're stuck here until someone helps you to leave. If you go through it, you can come and go as you please but you don't get stuck.
Chelle, if you do have an attachment (actually attached to your auric field as opposed to just hanging around your house) a good spiritual healer should be able to tell you and also get rid of it for you. They apparently don't do you harm but just drain your energy or make your cranky. I know some names of people who do it if you want them!!
I used to astral travel too.. around the same time as the leg-lifting thing and even more recently since moving to Sydney. I usually feel myself roll out of the bed and then just start to float and fly. Hasn't happened for ages, but I saw all sorts of bizarre things, none of which made any sense to me. I actually quite liked that and used to hope it would happen!
oohh I just remembered something. When I was little, my parents divorced and I lived with my grandmother for a while. I used to be very sad a lot of the time and I remember one night waking up in the middle of the night feeling scared and there was an old woman sitting on a chair next to my bed, knitting. It felt comforting to know she was there with me, but it wasn't my grandmother. I've got no idea who it was - it was just like a presence in the darkness. Hmmm.. how funny that I had forgotten that until now. :)

Cosmic, that would be great. I don't really know if there is someone attached to me or if the spirit was just fooling around. I do suffer alot of energy problems as well as insomnia which is going through a very bad patch at the moment.
Since the seance, I have been getting the feeling someone is there a lot more and often have things moving out of the corner of my eye and nothing is there when I move my head.
Chelle, I will PM you my teacher's email address and mobile number. She is in Sydney but she's pretty tuned in.. anyway, she can tell you whether she can help you or not (from a distance I mean since I see you are in Vic).

WOW! What a great topic! This stuff is right up my ally.
I actually do card readings, both tarot and oracle. I have 9 different sets of cards at home. I'm also learning the "craft". Yes, I do do spells etc...... I only ever practice good spells, rituals etc...... What you put out there comes back to you X3.
I also do seances regularly and contact my spirit guides and and those who have passed for friends. I do not agree that using the ouija board only attracts bad entities and all those who come through are bad. To me the ouija board is just a tool, as is tarot and oracle cards until my clairvoyance becomes stronger.
I have never had a bad experience with seances as I go into them with a positive mind and heart and I protect myself and those around me. My 5yo even gets involved and says hi to my grandfather when he calls for her. She is such a spiritual little being!
I did once have a demon come through whilst doing a seance for a friend. It was actually her aunt that was attached to her. She wasn't going to hurt us physically, but she tried to fill our heads with lies and tricks etc.......
Because I have my spirit guides watching over me at all times and I protect myself, my grandfather was able to come through and banish her from my house. He then told me to never do seances with that particular friend again as it would only be trouble. After that seances I then cleansed my house with a sage smudge stick to clear out any left over negative vibes.
I always remember to protect myself whenever I open myself up to any spiritualy activity.
I love this stuff! :p

Goosbumps on goosebumps here !!!
I had another freaky experience once when I was pregnant with my first child. I was very over due, maybe 8 days and I was stressing. I went to the beach with my mum, it was just a nice day to go for a stroll. I sat there alone for awhile just trying to get my head together and chill and I noticed this bloke in the distance. He was walking near the shore and so I decided to walk more away from him higher on the sand. He ended up walking up to me and said,"Your worried about the baby aren't you?" "Yes, just a little bit." "You don't have to worry everything is going to be fine". He stood there and was showing me these perfectly round rocks that he had found and was going on about life. It was only a brif encounter, then he intoduced himself as Tony, shook my hand and then said again, "Everything is going to be ok". The feeling that shot through my body as he touched me went from the top of my head to the tips of my toes. !! I was grounded. I just stood there, I couldn't even move for a good five minutes. I just watched him walk away.( and waited for him to disappear lol) He had the most beautiful blue eyes, a beard and long ash blonde hair. He looked like a new age older guy you see, tanned, there was just something about him. . I honestly think he was an angel (yes far fetched an crazy ). I KNEW that everything was going to be ok there after and didn't even think about my worries.I felt calm and peaceful and enlightened. I felt so much love and safety in my heart,.
I will never forget that feeling, it was full on.
I have never done a seance or ouija board, that has always been too scarey for me.
Sometimes I think I would like to see a spirit but then would probably freak right out.
The stories have been great..!! And yet in some religions all of this is the devils work, Go figure. :)

I have had one experience. My nanna died back in 1990 of cancer, I was 13 at the time. She had found out she had cancer and 3 days later died. So I never really go the chance to say good bye to her.
Then one day before school when I was waking up I was having a dream that my nanna was standing over the road from my parents place with a little girl on their drive way. I remember staring at my nanna and saying "Bye Nanna, Bye Nanna" and as I woke up I said "Bye Nanna" one more time, and at the same time I felt something or some type of presence leave my body.
To this day this dream is still very vivid and I believe it was my nanna saying her good bye to me. I am still not sure who the little girl was, but it just occured to me now that maybe it was a sign that I was going to have a little girl, don't know and never will I suppose.
This was my mums mum who had died. My mum has told me a few freaky stories about my nanna since she passed away. My mum has come home from work and found my nanna's photo on the floor at her bedroom doorway. Bread boards have fallen down when my aunty and my mum were talking about my nanna. My aunty has had all her clocks stop at the same time when they were discussing my nanna. My uncle was putting up a picture of something on the wall while he was talking about his mother (my nanna) and straight away the picture fell down, he tried to hang it back up and it just fell down again. Eventually he had to find another place to hang the picture as it refused to stay up. The list just goes on and on.
I might get out of this thread now, my husband is away for the night and I am a little frightened of going to bed on my own. Bugger, might have to leave the lamp on in the lounge room tonight.
......did I kill the thread ???? :p
That's funny, Jo. :) I noticed things had gone a little quiet so I was going to come on last night and ask if anyone had a scary story for us. Mandymoo, that was a good one!
Keep them coming, everyone! I'll just stick to reading them during the daytime. :o

Yes, its definately daytime reading.
Mandymoo, I had to have a giggle when i read your last bit. I was that way the night before. The mind plays funny trick so on us and nothing worse than freaking yourself out when you are on your own. I hope that the night went ok for you..
Yes, keep em coming girls.!!!! :)
I like that one, O's mum! I should get your hubby to come to my house while you're in Oz and see if any of them are hanging out here. My psychic friend told me before we bought the house that an old man was here but I haven't really felt him/seen him, so I'm not sure... mind you I haven't really looked out for him either. If he's here, he can stay as long as he doesn't start moving furniture around the place! :o
I usually get everything I want when I ask for help from the angels - like if I've lost something and need to find it, or just want a carpark at the shopping centre or something. But I've noticed since being pregnant that I don't even have to ask - I just have to THINK something and it happens. Like today we went to the races and all the sit-down tables were taken and I had worn new shoes with higher heels than I would normally wear. Just as I was thinking "Geez I don't know how I am going to cope with having to stand up all day in these shoes".... 4 people got up from a table right in front of us and left. :)
Other things like I arrive at train stations just as my train is arriving at the platform where in the past I would always have to wait. Lots of little things like that. Instead of thanking the angels, I always thank the baby now. I reckon she's got something to do with it!
has anyone else noticed things like that when they are pregnant?
500?? Wow, I hadn't looked! Ummm.... what DOES it mean? That it's something lots of people are interested in but don't know much about? Or that people are thinking they better duck their head in and see who the looneys are that they need to avoid in future?... :D

Its a bit like an STD for eg, while many people might have it.......not many will admit to it?
Perhaps?
O's mom.
I came here just to say hello to you Os Mum and Cosmic, (I havent read any of the posts in here) because am scaredy cat!
Interesting that you say that... I know some people who, when prompted, will admit to having lots of weird experiences, or strong psychic abilities but they really hate it, hate talking about it, wish they didn't have it.
And of course there are others who just think it's all a crock. It's in your head. NO such thing as ghosts. Shows like John Edward are completely rigged. Psychics are all fakes. etc. etc...

John Edward, pfft...
You know I reckon the reason he knows people's history (his audiences) because he searched/studied about his audience off hands...or else perhaps before the show begins his staff might interviews the audiences about what they are hoping for and thats fair to John via a radio mike during the show... :(

Question - I know what yo are referring to when you say "Meta-physical" but what does "Meta" actually mean?
Thanks:D
TM.. thank you.. that's exactly what I mean! People who think it's a crock will never be convinced otherwise... unless they perhaps experience something like that first hand. I have actually seen John Edward live - and many others who do exactly what he does. There's no interviews beforehand and I'm not sure how they would do research on people. There were about 5000 in the audience at John Edward.
The interesting thing I find though, is the ones who are completely sceptical about the whole thing have usually never seen a psychic/medium and refuse to ever go to see one.
O's mum.. did you ever see Sensing Murder? Probably not if you are in Japan. They screen a hundred psychics until they get the top 3 and then use them to help solve unsolved Australian crimes - and make it a TV show.. fantastic to watch as the psychics are all interviewed and recorded separately and they all come up with exactly the same stuff. Anyway, long story short... one of them only opened up in her 20s or 30s. Before that she had never had a psychic experience. Freaky thing to have happen!

Hey girls, I've just had a little look at the thread, but haven't had time to read it all because I've been so busy with a sick baby.
I must say I find it all pretty fascinating, and I've had a couple of ghostly experiences but I don't know if you want to hear about them, because once I start, I'm hard to stop - you know me - blah blah blah...
I am curious to know one thing though, maybe someone here can enlighten me and certainly Kevinbudgie and Cosmic sound like they might have the answer -
I always feel like there is somebody else in the room with me and I always have as long as I can remember. It's not a creepy feeling, just a feeling of, well, "presence" for want of a better word and sometimes I can tune it out better than others, but it's always basically there. I used to have an imaginary friend when I was a little girl, and wonder if that might be something to do with it? Any ideas?

I watched a tv show on Foxtel telling us how psychics actually get there information. I don't really believe in them myself.
Anyway, the people organising the psychic show sends out invitations or get a list of the names of the people attending the show. They then pick out certain people and actually get people to go to there house and pretend that they are a sales person or someone during a survey. So while they are there they have a hidden camera or write down all the details they can see of the person and the house they live in.
Which I think is pretty sly.
So when the show is put on the people who had been picked out were placed in certain seats and the psychic would pick out these people and already know all their details to tell them.
So since then I believe they are all fake and are just after a quick dollar.

And yeah I've heard a lot of people have just woken up with it one day.
Life changes...maybe TM will become a John Edward in the future too!!!! :D
Did I tell you about Ruth before? Ruth Phillips (formerly Ruth Wilson) was one of the psychics who appeared a couple of times. I have seen her do a John Edward style thing with a small group of about 25 people.. in fact she is doing another one on Monday night! I have had a one-on-one with her a couple of months ago.

LOL that would be scary and hard for my audiences coz if I did "hear" or "see" something, then I would run away leaving the building, screaming asking for help!!!!!
My father died when I was about 23, but I hadn't really known him since I was 5. My brother was in contact with him though. He got cancer and one night we got a call from the hospital saying he was on the way out so if we were going to visit we should hurry up. We were in Qld, he was in Perth.. so we spent all afternoon/night trying to organise flights to Perth, getting the hospital to fax stuff to the airline to get us compassionate fares etc etc.. finally got booked on a flight at 6am the next morning - packed and went to bed at around 10.30pm. At 11pm we got a phone call to say he had died. :( So we went to Perth anyway and viewed the body, had the funeral etc.
ANYHOO... about a year later I saw a psychic for the first time and immediately he started describing my father and telling me he was in the room with me. He was basically talking to me as if he was taking direct dictation from my father.. "he's saying this.. he's saying this etc.." "He's saying he waited for you to come that night. He wishes you could have got there earlier. He's saying he wants you to tell Michael blah blah.. (Michael's my brother).. He's saying he left something heavy and gold with Michael and if you want him to come near just hold it and he'll be there (he left a heavy gold watch to my brother). He's saying he remembers you standing on the right side of his coffin when you went to view his body and he wants you to know he heard everything you said. No you didn't say it out loud. He heard it anyway.. He's saying he's sorry for everything".. and on and on it went.
The guy had no idea who I was when I turned up. Tell me he could have researched any of that!!!
No...she walked onto my R/E agency one day and I recognised her. She was very cagey!
You'll have to tell me about your session with her...maybe email huh?
Nobody needs to know about that nasty rash!!!
haha.. yep - at the beach maybe. My friend got more from her than I did. For me it was a lot of baby stuff (little girl dancing around me very excited to be coming. :D)

If there is something there, it absolutely can't hurt you - although it can drive you mad with worry. Just ignore it and it will go away - or demand it to leave. If you let it scare you it is more likely to stick around:)
Nickster, I woke up this morning and immediately thought. "Oh NO, I forgot to reply to Nickster!" ooopppps! Sorry.. got too caught up in my dead father story.
So, I was thinking that perhaps it is just your guides.. or one of them in particular that you can feel. We all have at least two spirit guides who are with us through our whole life.. they are always here to guide and protect us and if you get intuitive feelings it can be them communicating with you. You can ask them for anything and they are always here to help. They actually really like it when you talk to them because their whole job is to serve you, so if you ask them for things, and thank them afterwards, the link gets stronger.
Like Katie said, you can ask it to go away if if makes you uncomfortable, but perhaps just qualify your request by asking it to go away only if it isn't one of your guides or it's intention is not to help you.
The other possibility is that it is a spirit living in your house.. again, they usually do no harm and don't mean to scare you. My friend moved into a house that had the spirit of an old lady living there - she'd been there for however many years (a LONG time) but when they moved, she went with them because she liked them! Fortunately they don't mind her either, but many psychics have told them the best thing they could do for her is to help her to move across to the other side where she is supposed to be.

Thanks for responding guys, now I don't have to worry that I'm on your ignore lists! LOL! There goes that thread......
I think it might be a spirit guide - there's never anything malignant about it's presence - it's just always "there" if you know what I mean? And always has been - regardless of where I have lived, so I don't think it's a ghost in that traditional sense.
Now if only it would guide me to the winning lotto ticket...

j&k'smum
30-10-2005, 22:55
Speaking of telepathic, do sometimes you think of someone you havn't thought of in ages, and then they ring you?
Thats happens with me alot. People must just think it's a line but its true.."I was just thinking of you.." Someone came here the other day who never comes here and all day I was thinking of her. Just little bits and peices would make her come to mind. Then when she was here, what we spoke about was so reassuring to a problem I was having, that I beleive she came here for that.
I really think we have messages given to us from other poeple..Its just seeing them.
Me and a friend had a dejavu(sp) experience at exactly the same moment once. That was a spin out. Just as I was standing there thinking, wow, this seems fimiliar, she said "I am having dejavu, I have seen this before." Trippy.
I ask my Angels alot for things too, sometimes nothing too important, alot if I have lost something. The other day I lost my keycard and asked if they could take me to it and it was in the most wierdest place - behind the placemats up against the wall in the kitchen!!! It must have got stuck to the bottom of one off the table was all I could figure out.
I have only started in the last five months or so, to ask out aloud for some pretty important things. Someone told me to do it. I cannot beleive the feeling of total peace I get the next day with the problem. It leaves me and things happen to show me what decisions I need to make. It really gives me a weird feeling, like a fuzzy warm feeling.Or more like an inner knowing. Its like I completely trust them with it.
Going now to try the telepathic test... :D

I do that too, ask out loud for things we need.
A while ago we were desperate for a new car but we really couldnt afford it and I just asked "please send us a new car when the time is right" a week later DH got a promotion and we got our new car Yeah! :D
My weirdest experiences are
1) When I was a kid over a friends place we went into one room and I was amazed at how freezing cold it was in there. Later that day I found out it was her late grandparent's room.
2) A few years ago I was boiling a pot of water with my sisters and we all heard talking coming from the pot. It was definitely coming from the pot and it was definitely talking. It sounded friendly and we figured it was the radio or a phone conversation.
3) About a year ago I looked in my rear vision mirror and saw a weird looking old lady with long grey hair and a black hood on sitting in the passenger side of the car behind me - she reminded me of the witch from Snow White who gave the apple. The driver was an islander guy with an afro and a cranky look on his face. I thought they were a weird couple so I was looking at them a bit. Then at the next traffic lights I noticed the lady was not there anymore. It was a busy road and she couldn't have been let out of the car and still be right behind me. It didn't seem like she could be leaning down either because I was staring hard and saw no sign of her for ages and the guy was not glancing down the way you would if someone was messing around near your feet. It totally seemed like she had just vanished.
Wow Rainbow. A talking POT is by far the weirdest I have heard! :D
I ask for things and get them so often that I'm amazed I don't ask for more things.. if that makes sense. ? It's like we struggle along doing the best we can and worrying about all sorts of things and suddenly go 'oh wait a minute.. I should ask for some help.. why didn't I think of that before?'... and before you know it - help appears.
A fantastic book on that subject is "Ask and It Is Given" written by Esther and Jerry Hicks but channelled from a spirit 'entity' called Abraham. It explains the laws of the universe and how the whole 'law of attraction' thing works - and better still it's full of practical exercises to help you start attracting what you want into your life, not what you don't want!

I thought I would post my story specially for ThomasMum, since you can definitely read it safely at night:
I think a guy died in my house, probably in my bedroom, and it really doesn't bother me. No ghosts, no funny noises, nothing. I guess he may not have actually died in the house, but he definitely came back to the house when he found out he was dying.
Hope all the woosier members of the forum enjoyed my *exciting* story :)
Sorry, I'll wrack (sp?) my brains for something more interesting!

I didnt' know the guy or anything - maybe that makes it seem less real to me! BTW the non-creepyness was just referring to the lack of ghosts etc, not to the fact that the guy died. :)

Hmmm, I love this stuff! I have some pretty wicked stories to share as well! Although we could be here for a while!
In our old house (which we're still trying to sell) I could feel a "presence" from the first day we looked at it.I didn't really like the house(because of presence i think) but DH did and it had everything we wanted in a really good area so we bought it. Pretty much from day one DH and I changed, ha ha we would fight for no reason at all at times or just not want to be around each other(which was really weird for us). After one particular fight I had had enough so slept on the lounge and I had an elderly lady wake me up stroking my face and telling me that DH needed me and it was all "the man's" fault. So I freaked out a bit and went to bed with DH, lol snuggled in real close!
A few months later my DS1 refused to go to sleep in his room, because the cranky man always yelled at him and was scary. So we did the whole "search the room, nothing to be afraid of" speech and put him in there anyway. When I went in to check on DS, I could feel something evil in his room.REALLY spooky, I mean I couldn't see anything, I just had this feeling that something was there.
DS would come into our room EVERY night without fail telling us about the cranky man.Due to my DH not being a believer at the time, I never really told him about the feeling I got in Ds's room that night. One night I was on the computer and watching TV at the same time.My computer screen turned off and my tv channel turned from channel 10 to channel 7 (without moving numbers like it was still supposed to be 10) Anyways, after a few months of me hearing stomping from downstairs when no-one was there and actually seeing the "cranky man", I told DH who laughed and thought I had gone nuts!
A few nights later I woke up to DH, racing through the house turning on every light because there had been "a man" standing next to his side of the bed, screaming at him.He described him and it was exactly the person I had seen.Next day we asked DS1 what the "cranky man" looked like and once again, it was exactly the same.
In the end, I had had enough and did my own cleansing of sorts,( ha ha tricks off the good old internet) and we haven't seen him since. And the weirdest thing, in my opinion,DH and I have been brilliant ever since, totally back to normal or even better.
Ha ha that's one of my stories, sorry for rambling

I promised myself I wouldn't read these things at night on my own...tsk tsk..naughty me. Now I am scared...
.That sounded freaky nara. Some experiences are just unbeleivable hey? I don't get how people say they don't beleive in all of this when there is just so much eveidence of it? hm...Glad you got rid of your cranky man. :)
Can someone tell me what makes a spirit angry and bad? Are they that way when they are here in body, just angry souls? Have always wondered...

05-11-2005, 07:24
Sorry j&k'smum, I have no idea why some are "cranky" and some are lovely....I would really like to find out as well! And I agree with you, I don't know how some people can't/don't want to believe, I've seen enough to make 1000 people believe! LOL you only need a few night's in my Grandma's house to realise we are not alone!
For instance, I was 6 when my Grandad died and no-one ever told me any details (ie- where he had died or how)but Grandma swears the next time I went to visit her she woke up at around 2am and heard me in the kitchen talking.Apparently I was talking to my Grandad, sitting at the kitchen table and I said I'm sorry your heart hurts.........Of course he did die of a heart attack at the kitchen table. To this day when I stay there I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night and I can hear him laughing!I don't mind he has a beautiful laugh!
Or when my cousin died(suicide) 5 years ago, my brother and his girlfriend,my sister and I all went to stay with Grandma for some moral support over the funeral period. We were all pretty upset so Grandma and my brother's girlfriend went to bed.The rest of us sat up talking about Ryan and what a waste it was, if only we knew blah blah blah.Anyway my brother decided to go to bed too, he tried opening the door of the bedroom they were staying in and it was stuck. So he managed to wake girlfriend up and started laughing at her for locking the door, but she freaked right out understandably. The HUGE cupboard had been pushed up against the door, weirdest thing is it's an old house and we should have heard the scraping of it moving especially since we were in the next room.Long story short (ha ha maybe a bit late)there was no way DB's girlfriend could move the cupboard so we had to jump through the window, to move it back to where it was.
Got lots more but will stop rambling!
I've had a few episodes where I have thought I have seen someone in my room at night, and something happened 2 nights ago that makes me definitley think there is a ghost or something in my house.
DD cried out in her sleep,so I took a torch with me instead of turning on the hall light, put her dummy back in and returned to my room.I put the torch on DH's guitar amplifier and went to sleep.About an hour later DD cried out again,I felt around for the torch and IT WASN"T THERE!!! .
I quickly went into DD,had a look around for the torch incase it had fallen, couldn't find it,and then tried to go to sleep, wondering what the hell had happened to it.I woke up again a bit later and I'm certain I saw a curly haired individual standing at the end of the bed.My heart wouldn't stop pounding,it was quite scary to see something there.I'm sure I wasn't dreaming.
Now I know for sure that I had put the torch on the amplifier, and that morning I went into the kitchen and it was sitting on the bench! I freaked, told DH and now he's a bit freaked but won't admit it.
Why do these things seem to happen at night? If it was daytme I wouldn't be so scared!
When my mum was a young girl, she woke up one night and found an old man ghost standing over her with a knife. She screamed and screamed and it went away, now thats scary!!

i have to confess i'm one of the lurkers who's been reading all your stories and quietly freaking out. i haven't had many experiences and nothing really scary. when i was young, our family went to a friend's house for dinner. my brother and i were put into one of the bedrooms so that we could sleep. i remember being very uncomfortable and scared in the house and didn't know why. later mum told me that her friend's house had a presence and that her friend was planning to ask it to leave. i was not surprised by this, i definitely felt something.

Spencersmum, You made me laugh, a lurker ? lol. Yes, its all a bit bizarre. Its funny when you just have that "feeling" in someone's house. Worse when you are forced to try and "sleep" and you just lay ther pooing you panties. Its bad enough being an adult getting your head around this stuff.
But we love it.... :D

Another fabulous thread Kevinbudgie, Im new here and have read alot of your posts and you have the best sense of humour, I love it ! (and think your budgie has a great name) Anyhow, not that this thread has been about lots of laughs, how scary was Boomtish's ouija experience ?
I moved to Sydney 18 years ago to study nursing and lived in the old nurses home at Parramatta (the psychiatric hospital  ) But lots of very spooky things happened there day and night. Of a night, you would walk past one of the communal bathrooms and hear the shower running, then an hour later it was still running. Each time there was noone in the shower. I then found out from a guy that had lived in the nurses home for a few years, that a friend of his had committed suicide in that exact shower by slitting his wrists then letting the shower wash away the blood (apparently he was the type that didnt want othersto clean up his mess ) Spooky

Id be freaking out ! Does your husband notice these "apparitions" or whatever ? Can he see something ? I am so interested in all of this.
At this same nurses home there was a room notorious for being "haunted". Noone wanted to stay in it, even though it was quite a bit bigger than the regular rooms. One day one of the cleaning staff moved in to that room despite the warnings. I personally never got along with this woman as she was a moody cow and obviously the resident ghost thought so too as the "hauntings" changed from her room to the room next door !
Any animal that crossed the path of this room (room 18) acted bizarre ! One day this little dog that belonged to one of the visitors sat at the door to this room and cryed for hours quite literally. Our curiousity was so strong that we called the usual occupant of the room to open it and see what the dog was excited about. While waiting, we took the dog outside and immediately it ran to the room window and jumped up and down !
Once we got in the room, the dog went directly to a cupboard in the back of the room and just sat in it. I knew this room was now the spooky room as my room was right next to it and I would hear "scratching" noises against the common wall.
They say that animals and children are the most tuned in to the spirit world.
Catnapjap, you took the words right out of my mouth. This thread is really fascinating. KevinBudgie, Did were you always aware or has this come since you met your DH (if you do not mind my asking)?

hey KB i don't suppose your DH ever got to visit Pentridge Jail after it'd offically closed as a jail and then was open to the public? the place was crackling with bad vibes especially jika jika where all the really bad prisoners were housed. even an idiot like me could feel it. mum wanted to take my photo in one of the jika jika cells and i refused to go into the cell. the bad vibes were intense.

Oh poor Kevin ! I thought it great that he had a human name, though truth be known, Kevin isnt a very trendy name really and he must have known it ;)
Unbelievable about your hubby being a seer ! How lucky are you ! I never knew that about birds. Mum lives in an old church in Tassie and has a pet galah which is over 15 years old and lost the ability to fly. I must ask her if Albert ( yes that is truly his name...except we found out latr he is a her...doubly degrading to the poor bird !..imagine if a psychic had 5 minutes with him/her  ) ..must ask if he acts peculiar sometimes. The Church may have some interesting stories.
Spencersmum that is eerie about Pentridge. When I lived in Sydney I spent a smalll amount of time working at the big prison there..Long Bay. I heard hundreds of stories..doesnt surprise me though..think of the evil people that walked the floors and the tortured souls that died too soon . Spooky but I love it
hi catnap~poor albert!!! :) sorry if it wasnt your intention but your post made me smile :)

I thnk this thread is really interesting. I dont really know much about this sort of thing but have had a few wierd things happen, not really exciting or scary stories or anything but when I was 21 (about a year after my grandfather died) I remember waking uo in the middle of the night feeling as though I wasnt alone. I was facing he wall and turned aound to find an oldish man sitting next to my bed smiling at me. I remember blinking a few times as I wasnt sure if I was seeing thins but the old man stayed there for a few minutes eventually disappearing. I knew that it wasnt my imagination, the hairs on the back of my neck were on end and I was wide awake but not scared .. well not really anyway, I felt quite safe even though I didnt know who the man was. Ever since that day, I have always known or felt that that same man is with me looking after me in a way. A few years later I was looking through some old photos of my uncles and there was a photo of the same man, it was my grandfather when he was a younger! Last year, I went to see a clairvoyant with my mother, she described the man standing behind me and told me that it is my grandfather (I hadnt told her anything about this) she said that sometimes our spirit guides can change if a more suitable guide becomes available. In my case, my grandfather died and took over as one of my guides. I love the thought that my grandfather chose to be my guide, we were very close. I wonder why he looked like a younger version of himself than I remember though. I am ashamed to admit that I dont really talk to him, and after reading tis thread, I think I should make the effort to talk to him a lot more to let him know that I like having him around.
John Edward, pfft...
You know I reckon the reason he knows people's history (his audiences) because he searched/studied about his audience off hands...or else perhaps before the show begins his staff might interviews the audiences about what they are hoping for and thats fair to John via a radio mike during the show... :(
i actually went to the john edward show when he came to brisbane and there was no audience interviews you all turned up took your seat and he came straight out and started with what was coming through if he comes back to oz again i will definately be going again. he was well worth the money i paid to see him ( mind you i was in front of the stage).
i have had a few strange things happen.
1. my father died when i was 11 of a massive heart attack in our back yard ( he died in the emergency room at the hospital though) and a few days after he died my mum and i were in her room and could hear what sounded like a aradio on so we checked but when we listened more it was 2 distinct male voices coming from the rose garden outside her window we couldnt actually hear what was being said though. the same thing happened in my room a few weeks later then we didnt hear it again.
2. we lived in a brand new 3 bed villa in bris and we had only been there for a few weeks when i went to have a shower and closed my bedroom door and ensuite, when i finshed and before i got dressed i had to open the bedroom door for some reason when i did i saw a shadow go down the hallway wall then i went to se if it was dh but he hadnt moved from where he had been originally.
3. we moved into a highset house and while dh was at work one day i could hear kids laughingin the hallway i thought maybe it was the noise from the kids next door but they were still at school i told dh when he got home and i had to go to the shop when i came home he was sitting out the front having a smoke as pale as. he then told me he had heard it too and went to check and nothing but it kept on going.lol
4. dh father died on boxing day last year, his mum is still living in the house but she has noticed this week that there is an ornament missing from the cabinet and no one has taken it to there home so we said it is him moving stuff and she will find it somewhere eventually. i hope she does.
