This is a tutorial requested by Shed on how to do the elastic at the back of a pocket nappy.

Step 1
Lay right sides together and sew along green lines.
See Picture (http://www.bizztools.net/misc/step1.jpg)

Step 2.
Lay the joined pieces out flat (right side down) and flatten down the seam.
Sew along the green lines.
See Picture (http://www.bizztools.net/misc/step2.jpg)

Step 3
Put safety pins through your elastic pieces.
See Picture (http://www.bizztools.net/misc/step3.jpg)

Step 4
Thread the elastic through the casing.
Stop pushing the safety pin through when you have a teeny piece of tail left.
Friction will stop it from moving.
Do this on both the PUL and the Fleece fabric starting at the same end.
See Picture (http://www.bizztools.net/misc/step4.jpg)

Step 5
Turn the fabric right side out.
Sew along the green line.. make sure you don't pull the elastics through.
You shouldn't need a pin to do this.
See Picture (http://www.bizztools.net/misc/step5.jpg)

Step 6
Fold inside out again to thread the elastic all the way through on both PUL and Fleece sides.
Make sure you have a teeny piece of elastic visible extending from the edge of the casing.
Pin this on both sides. -- Leave the safety pin in just incase.
See Picture (http://www.bizztools.net/misc/step6.jpg)

Step 7
Turn the fabric right side out.
Hold the safety pins out of the way of the zipper foot and sew along the green line.

Finished! Now you can do the rest of your nappy.

I have been struggling with this and actually had put one to the side because its too hard.

I have been trying to do it after the nappy is sewn up around the edges.

Will try it this way, looks very neat. Mine are dodgy.

thanks!!
