Love it when lots of people pop in, DF is in Brisbane today so tonght so I'm all alone, well the kidfs are in bed, but that doesn't count!

I had a good shopping day today, went to baby target and lay-buyed a cot quilt, bumper, blanket, sheet shet, wrap and nappy stacker all in a red and white with elephantsstyle. Great for either, and all for just over $100! I am stoked! Also we were there for hours and the kids were great, i was so happy with them they even got a ride, lol!

Getting there with names, we have finally narrowed it down to 3 of each, with a few backups as we don't know about middles yet, it's all too hard!

Laine - glad to see you back again! So glad to hear that your DP is back next week, yep i had my scan done at the WCH the guys name is Peter and i don't rember the training guys name, hopefully you have a better experience than me. The last two i had an asian guy called Ben I think, he was fantastic, even gave DF a turn, I hope you get him!

Niki - Congrats on becoming an Aunty! Can't wait till I am one too, my poor kids have no cousins so far, and I don't see it happening for a while either, breed family, c'mon!

hi ladies, sorry this is a vent/stress post. Had my 1st midi appointment last night at the hospi, all was going really well, then afta we'd almost done she was re-reading my scan reports, and at the bottom of the one i just had it says that i need a tertiary assesment done... which she tells me means i have to get referred by a hospi doc to get sent to brissy for a huge scan.....

now the reasoning is "no other abnormalities noted other then short femroal and humeral lengths". now they measured 17w6d and 17w4d........ i was only 18wks on the day, but she changed my dates to be 19wk1d
(impossible to be that as i would have got a bfp on 2dpo) as the baby had a big head and stomach circ

i know i shouldnt be stressing as i know that by the original dates there would be nothing considered to be abnormal or wrong... but still its now stuck in my head! and im going on holidays to adelaide next week, so i cant see the docs to get referal until i get back! So i wont be able to relax until i have seen the doc! grrrrr

oh and the other thing, when preggas with ds, his scans (i had about 6) ALL showed above average head size, and below average femur length..... oh and he didnt come out short either, was 55cm long and head 36.5cm...

so sorry this is such a long post but i had to let it out lol!

thanks for listening/reading!!

Chemico, wow he's definately going to be a popular little man isn't he;) well done!

Chenicimo ~ You cannot hide that you are having a boy. My ds was like that and my obs printed a pic of his bits as he said "he was a big boy" for my hubby to show everyone!!

LMAO! I'd like to say he's blessed like his dad but DH would be all embarrassed!

Oops! Too late! LOL!

Wow girls! I can't believe we're all finding out the sex - Yay for good sonographers!

:hugs: Don't stress, I am sure things are fine. I remember with DS1 when I had a scan towards then end it came back that his head was a couple of weeks ahead of the rest - I had this picture in my mind that I was going to have a mutant child with a huge head:eek: - of course everything is fine. Sometimes those scans can make us panic. Hope everything is fine. Vent away anytime:hugs:

Oh hun :hugs: :hugs:

Try not to stress i know its hard :o but seriously not worth it.
As the middie told me after i had an u/s that showed abnormalities with Boof said " the equipment these days are so thorough etc that they pick up everything & thats even when nothing is wrong ! ". Tis so true !!! I stressed for 3mths with Boof yet nothing was wrong but then it is good that technology is getting so advanced its just a shame us pg women have to cop it !

Hi everyone

Herchy: being nervous is normal, enjoy the scan.

Bel_aiden: hope you are feeling better, let us know how things go

our little treasures and lollydove: thats one thing I will miss with not having a girl - there clothes are so much nicer!! So hard to find nice (not to expensive) boy clothes

mumma_jessy: Shopping sounds like fun, but we don't need much, which is probably a good thing as we don't have much money at the moment. Are you going to keep the names a secret?

Laine: hope the dentist appt went ok, I am waiting till bub is born before going - not looking forward to it. Countdown is on for hubby to come home :smiliedance:Less then a week now!!!

Lil x-man: when is your scan? has bubs been kicking lots?

Baileys Mum: Welcome back, glad everything is well. Dial-up is a shocker, hope you get that broadband on soon.

Well I had my second midwife appt today. All is well, hear bubs heartbeat as soon as she put the doppler(is that right:confused:?) down!! Blood pressure was a bit low, but that happen when I was pregnant with DS2 as well. So all is good. Getting the nausea back in the morning, and had an annoying headache last night. But everything is ok. Just tired - but that isn't unusual.

Hope everyone is going well. Chat to you all soon.

Hi ladies!

Laine- Yay! So exciting that your DF is coming back. It seems like not long ago he was leaving but I bet it seems like an eternity ago for you! Wait til he sees your baby bump! So sweet!

Mumma Jess & Lollydove- How great is shopping for bubs clothes! Especially when you know the gender! Enjoy it ladies!

Bel Aiden- Dont stress hun, honestly I know its easier said than done but I really dont understand why they would change your dates if the original dates suggest all is normal. As some others have said, its quite normal for the head size to be larger. Take care of yourself and enjoy your trip away. Your baby is gonna be just fine. I think you need some of these :hugs:

Herchy- Havent chatted with you before so just wanna say hi! Hope you are having a great day with your scan and your last day at work!!!!!

Jkat- Hello! How great to hear heartbeat straight away. Strong lil bubba there! Sorry to hear the nausea back- i have bouts of that too. Its horrible. I am so lazy at the moment, tiredness is killing me. I get to the point where i am so floppy as the energy is gone from me and totally drained. Hope you pick up soon and can enjoy the rest of 2nd trimester.

Thanks for all the welcomes back!!! I feel loved LOL!
Im so sore today. My hips are killing me, its crazy. I have popped out heaps this week so perhaps thats why Im a bit sore.

Talk soon!

Luv Me

morning everyone!
herchy i cant wait to hear about your scan how exciting :smiliedance: . im a bit worried ladies... i know we've already said that im probably not feeling kicks much because my placenta could be at the front, but its been 5 weeks since i first felt movement and they dont seem stronger or more regular and im 21 weeks now, plus its my second?! im scared and worried :( . i read somewhere that you should feel at least 10 movements a day and if not go to your midwife or doctor, i just dont want to be dramatic and i have an appointment tue anyway. i had the worst pains last night and my tummy went all hard, i think it must have been a braxton hick? i hope they'll give me an ultrasound tue to reassure me...

YoungMumSteph
23-02-2007, 11:11 AM
lollydove- I know its hard not too, but I wouldnt worry to much. I feel kicks mainly when Im lying back with something on my belly. Its normal not to feel 10movements a day! I certainly dont alot of the time.

Baileys mummy- Welcome back! I know whatcha mean about the dial up. Its a shocker! Hope ur borardband is up and working soon.

jkat- Good to hear ur midwife app went well. Hope the nausea in the mornings doesnt stillaround for long!

Herchy- U would have had ur scan by now so I hope it all went well. Cant wait to hear about it!

chenicimo- My DF was so proud to see his boy is "noticable!" He tells everyone on the scan u could see it and it was HUGE!!! Thats really cute ur DH gets embarrassed by it!

bel_aiden- Sorry to hear ur app didnt go so well. Hope its all sorted out for u and everything shows up fine...Im sure it will.

ourlittletreasures- don't u hate it when u miss out on great bargins on ebay! Im sure more will come up soon!

Well Ive got a busy weekend coming up. DS is moving into his room and of course Im doing all the work and moving to get him in there! I got my new washing machine to the other day and although its sad to say Im in love with it!! Ive done sooo much washing!!

HI Ladies!

I don't know what it is like where you live, but I am sick of this weather, i has been at least 33 degrees all week, and i hate it. I am cranky cause i hate the heat, the kids are cranky cause it's too hot to play outside and DF is cranky cause we are all cranky! ....Take me to the Antarctic!

belaiden - try not to stress honey, it's probably nothing to worry about :hugs:

Herchy - enjoy your scan today! It's normal to have mixed feeling, excitement versus sh!t scared!

Jkat - glad to hear you heard your bub so easily! So sorry to hear the sickness is back again  We are not keeping the names a secret form you guys, but everyone else we are! I have a thread in the choosing names section with our short list so far if your interested...

Baileys Mummy - sorry to hear bout your painful hips hun, hope you feel better soon??

lollydove - I have been having braxtons for weeks now, and some are already painful, my middie told me not to worry cause women who have had one of more feel these things more. As for the kicking, sometimes i go 3 days without feeling a thing, then all of a sudden i can feel it again! Bub could be very active when your sleeping so you don't notice??

Steph - Big weekend for you and your DS! Goodluck, hope it all oges smoothly and he loves his 'big boy' room!

Len - hi hun, thanx for popping in, don't worry i'm in a grumpy mood too, i blame the hormones!

Anyone I have forgotten, sorry. Hope you are all well and have a great weekend!

Hi Ladies:wave: ,
I hope you don't mind me joining your July thread. I'm new to this site, but want to talk to other mums and mums to be.
I have a 9 month old and #2 is due on the 10th of July.
I think that I will have to do some reading to kind of meet you all.
I have my scan on Monday, it is my second 18-22 week scan, as my first was done when I was only 17w6d and was just a little early to be 100% sure that everything was o.k. in there as our little man was measuring a little small, just like his big sister had. So I'm really excited about seeing him again. I'm just hoping the weekend goes really fast for us.
Look forward to getting to know you all.

Hi everyone... what a day!!!!
I had my scan.... the little bugger wouldn't cooperate!!!!
It was sooo active, the sonographer couldn't beleive it!
I had to sit there for a while until the little one settled down so the sonographer could take some measurements..... was pretty funny.
Anyway, is a little small for dates, so I'm heading back to have another scan in 2 weeks. This time I'm not leaving until I find out!!!!!!

Well, hope everyone is well. I really don't want to wait another 2 weeks, but I guess the little one is throwing punches now while it can!!!
lol

Have a great weekend!!!

hi mummy melly! its so great to meet you:smiliedance:
i only just joined last week as well and have never felt more at home.

i had my scan and was only 17w6d too so maybe i can get another one done?! also im a bit freaked out because i was just reading over my scan report to find out if my placenta is at the front because im not feeling kicks often and not getting stronger, and it is anterior so its at the front, but i also noticed something i missed before and now i want to demand another ultrasound. it said there was an echogenic intracardiac focus and when i researched this on the net it can mean abnormalties in a small percentage of women and can sometimes be a symptom of down syndrome
they said i have to have another scan in third trimester anyway to check position of my placenta but now it makes me think that's their way of checking the heart again without scaring me... god ive been such a drama queen sorry everyone im being silly

reAllytee
23-02-2007, 11:10 PM
lollydove - Try not to stress yep i know tell me to shut up lol :o .
I went through all of this myself but i knew even more so something was wrong before i read the report because they had a doctor come in to just "check" something
But it isnt always as bad as it sounds sometimes the net can be our worst enemies because it means we can google everything & then think the worst.
You are best to wait for your next middies appt where they can tell you properly whats really going on. :hugs:

Hi Symone,
Welcome, I'm only new as well. I just had a look at your web page and love the names you have picked out.
We found out we are having a boy and have decided on either Jack or Nickolas. Will probably be Jack as DH has his heart set on it, Jack Charles as his middle name is Charles.
You got some great photos of him/her.

Nicky, I'm in the same boat as you. I had my last scan done when I was 17w6d, but our little man was only measuring between 16w0d and 16w5d and one measurement was 18w3d, but I'm trying not to let myself worry, as my DD measured small all the way through, and was born a small baby 6pd8oz. And I know the 10th of July is my definate due date, as I had 3 scans done between 5-11weeds for dating purposes and the NT scan and they all said the 10th. So I know you have probably heard it a thousand times already, but try not to worry, you could just be having a small baby. I was told by a midwife that there is a margin of sometimes up to 3 weeks, after the 13 week in pregnancy, as the measurements they compare with are an average measurement and that it takes very large babies for dates along with very small babies for dates to calculate, so our bubbs could just be a pair of the smaller ones. I'm just stoked I can see our little man again, come on Monday.

Lollydove, I have heard about someone else having a focus before, aren't they a calcuim sist or something, I can't really remember. She was told that in most cases they dissappear later in pregnancy, only a very small minority don't. But that is of course if it is the focus you have explained. But I agree with ally just ask the midwife at your next appointment and she should be able to settle your worries.

I have been so excited today my DD just started crawling, it has been a long time coming and it was great to see the relief on her face when she took off.:o So happy for her.

Hi everyone,

It is quiet here today. May be i am feeling restless as i have my first scan on Monday. So excited to know about the sex of the baby. When i had my scan with Ria i couldn't find out because her legs were crossed. Hope i find this time now.:fingerscrossed:

Symone- Welcome to the july thread.

MM- :yelclap: for Charlize.

Love to everyone.

lollydove, try drinking a fizzy drink and lay down somewhere you can't be disturbed for a few minutes. If you definitely cannot feel movements and are still worried that it could be something more I would go to the birthing suite to get it checked out. You are just over the 20 week mark so you'll be right to go and see them personally.

Hurro everyone gosh it has been busy in here and I have got behind!!
Welcome Mummy Melly and congrats on your boy!and Lipsofanangel welcome too sorry bubs wasn't cooperative at your scan, hmmm I am thinking a boy for you too!!!
I have had a crappy couple of days with DS where I am thinking "what am I doing have another baby?" He kept me up alllllll night last night, I mean I got no sleep. He was wide awake yelling out "mummmmmmmmmmmmmy" all night for no apparent reason whatsoever (not upset or crying).
I ended up just about having a mental breakdown
(seriously) and DH took over at 3am which made me feel worse, since he had to go to work at 530am!!
I am almost at the end of my tether with DS behaviour sometimes, he just pushes me to the limit and almost over the edge, he's such a difficult (or spirited as you may like to call it) child that needs such tight boundaries, give him and inch he'll take a mile IYKWIM?? And he hasn't even turned 2 yet:eek:
I have gone down every avenue of discipline I can think of with him, but none of it works. I guess I appreciate my mum a whole lot more now because I was also a difficult child!!
Any way enough venting just had to get that out....
I made a skirt to go around the changetable yesterday and it looks really nice, it was my first time on a sewing machine in years so was interesting getting the hang of it all again!!
My scan is getting closer not this Friday but next, though everyone keeps asking if I have found out the sex yet, which is getting old fast as it reminds me constantly that I still dont know the sex of this bubs!!
Bubs is kicking alot now btw too, but not as strong or as often as I remember last pregnancy, :fingerscrossed: that means a quiet welll behaved child lol!!!!!!

Good luck for your scan tomorrow Priya, let us know how it goes.

Niki congrats on getting to 21 weeks tomorrow! I am now 18weeks yay!

Lollydove - I hope everything is ok with bubs , and like Allyoo said dont read into google too much, it always gives you the worst case scenario just to freak you out.

Allyoo - how you been hun, any improvement on the :barf: , hope Boof is behaving better than Xavier is right now lol!!

Herchy - we can both be impatient together whilst we wait for our next scan, so you didn't get to find out the sex this time I take it?

Hope everyone else is well, talk again soon!

Hi Everyone

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Lil x-man: I have many of those moments wondering why on earth am I having another one when sometimes I don't think I can cope with 2!! We do somehow, and I am sure you will :hugs: Any time you want to vent or cry send me a pm!!

Nikki: Yay!! 1/2 way mark- its a great feeling. Have fun shopping

priya: All the best with scan, let us know how it goes.

Mummy Melly: Welcome and all the best for your scan, its frustrating when the scans come back with different dates, had that with my first two - this time its being good!

lipsofanangel: Welcome, had a look at the webpage - wow - excellent scans!!.

Allyoo - how are things going? Feeling any better?

Herchy - Its good that bub is active - but sometimes frustrating lol. All the best with your next scan - Hope bub behaves

lollydove - what Ally said!! - wait till you see the midwives or obs!

MummaJessy- I will check the other thread out with the names. Hope that weather is getting cooler, how is just crazy, goes reallly hot then gets cooler very quickly - really frustrating. And don't we all had a cranky day here too - think it was mainly tiredness. Hope things are better.

Len- cause I remember you :) - hope things are well.

Shellbubs - Love Ya!!!:hugs: Let me know how tuesday goes!!

YoungMumSteph - Have fun with your washing machine lol and I hope you haven't worked too hard.

Baileys Mummy: Hope those hips are feeling better, mine were a bit sore yesterday and so was my back. But manage to get a 10 min rest and it wasn't so bad.

Ok, so when do we hit this wonderful 2nd semester - lol!!! Although the nausea hasn't been too bad the last couple of days (touch wood it stays away) still get exhausted very easily, poor DS1 just wants mum to get up and dance with him. Had some really emotional days lately, but today so far has been good - thank goodness, I hated the kids seeing me so upset. Silly hormones...how many months to go!!

Well better think about lunch soon, hope everyone is having a good weekend. Chat soon.

Hi everyone,

Thanks everyone.

Niki- Wow. It means i have also hit 21 week mark. Great.

Julie- :hugs: I don't have words to say. Oh what a difficult night you had. Hope things will improve. That makes me realise any age gap can be difficult.

Jkat- Dh is on 12 hr duty today so that means ria is with me alone till 9 p.m. I feel so lonely when he is not here and get tired doing all the housework and Ria's. 8 hr shifts are good enough.

Wow i am so excited and can't wait till tomorrow morning.

lil-X I feel your frustration, reading your last post is like a version of my life at the moment. I am due on the 13th (although beinging induced earlier, most likely) and have a 16 month old DD. For the last week she has decided that she will not sleep in her cot or stay by herself at night and screams for hours on end. There is nothing wrong she just doesn't want to go to bed. It worries me what it will be like if I can't break the habit before the new babe comes . She is very strong willed and will try her limits also.
Thankfully I have mum her to help and some advise from a sleep nurse on how to get her back on track. A lot of letting her cry :fingerscrossed: (heres hopeing)

Good luck and I hope you get some rest soon. :fingerscrossed:

Hey Everyone,
Thanks to you all...

Yeh my scans turned out heaps good, i even got a DVD of the scan and it is amazing!
I remember they told me to drink 1ltr of water so i did... But OMG i almost wet my pants LOL!!
I could hardly walk or sit! I couldn't even stand upright! But yeh, by the time he did the DVD and pictures for me he said, Dear... Your bladder is too full! Could you empty half and come right back!!!
Now that was one of the hardest things i have ever done! Try stopping half way!! I was dancing around the toilets trying not to pee everywhere LOL...

The DR keeps saying "Its a BIG one, it sure is growing!!"
I feel like a whale as it is.. But 1 good thing is i have gone from a B to a C cup already!!

Hey i have a question, when the baby moves does it tickle anyone sometimes?? I find at night when i lay in bed it sometimes tickles...

Anyways thanks HEAPS for the warm welcome..

I so cant wait to meet my little one i have 18weeks and 3days to go!! WOOHOO...

Take care everyone...

Lipsofangle, glad to hear your U/S went really well. How great is it you got it on DVD, I don't think the place I'm going to does that. Am I'm the same, we must have small bladders or something, cause by the time my scan is due I'm in soooo much pain, its crazy and the sonographer always askes me empty it as much as I can after she has measured the cervix etc. as bubs is too squashed up to get any measurements. It's just a small price to pay to see our bubbas hey!!!!

Hi everyone

Im doing ok the sickness has settled a little after ramping up over the last few weeks & i even managed a BH dinner on Sat nite. Was great to leave the house & have an adult conversation !

We bought a Boori cot off ebay last week so my sister picked that up on Sat. Im very excited as i never ever dreamed of being able to afford one now that we have very little income but it was very cheap !
Thing is shame we cant set it up because its all still a disaster zone here ! Hopefully more will get done this week to get Boof's room ready so i can get organised. Im starting to really panic now !

Julie - Im feeling your pain Boof too is being a horror head & i know its because he has figured out something is going on & life will be changing. I actually feel guilty !
I also feel guilty as his 2nd birthday is in a few weeks & i have been too sick to organise anything !!!! Arrrgh ! Gotta get my butt into gear !

Hope everyone is feeling ok & that all scans go well :hugs:

Hi girls I havent been on this weekend as I have been flat out tryingto find a house STILL!! I am now starting to get really stressed and had tears the other night.. Went to sil's but she was out so back homeI went, lol!! We have tried for so many bloomin houses and it is reallypackedand every inspection it has been in high 30's and I am really feeling the heat!! I just want it all to be over!! We have less than 2 weeksto get out of this house and I amreally stressed wewill be homeless.. My dh was talking to 2 other guys at an inspection and they are the same all got families and have been rejected 15 times.. We have been rejected 5 times.. What can I do though!! Just keep trying! The houses we went to on the weekend had 28 cars there!! Well vent bloomin over!!

Anyway baby really moves now but still hard to get others to feel her!! I have already got that many pink outfits I had to as dd was born Jan and this one is July so the seasons are different!!

I got a real bargain on ebay I got a cushion booster seat (rp $50) potty, toilet seat for child and high chair booster seat all BRAND NEW and only paid $26 would have been $110 in the shops! When I picked it up the guy at the wharehouse was abit annoyed it went that cheap but he said as long as I am happy!!

Lips of an angel I also got a dvd and love watching it my ds watched it and we asked him what it was and he kept roaring at us.. He thinks it is a lion or something!!

I keep checking to make sure it has the girl bits and it does!!
well gotta go and drop more applications in.. Please cross your fingers for us!!

Wow! Everyone has been on, so much to read and respond too! Sorry if I miss anyone.

Julie- Oh dear, little Xavier is being a monster! Sounds like Bailey, they test you when you just dont want to be tested hey. He looks so cheeky in your av pic!!! Were 18 weeks now, not long til our scans!!!

Niki and Priya- Yay! 21 weeks! I wish that was me, just to be that little bit further would be so good right now!

Jkat- Hormones, hormones, hormones...I know what you mean. I can cry at the drop of a hat for what appears no apparent reason. Rest up as much as you can, let daddy do the dancin with your DS!!!

Steph- New washing machine! Nice! I need a new one, ours isnt old, just need a bigger one.

Mummy Melly- Congrats on your DD crawling, its so exciting! Im still waiting on my DS walking, he is 15 months:eek:

Allyoo- Hope the sickness stays away hun. I think I recall reading that you had severe hyperemesis with boof- did it last the whole pregnancy? Lets hope your on the mend now and can enjoy the last half of your pregnancy.

Our little treasures- LOL! Id be checking the DVD constantly too! I keep checking my 12 week scan and Im sure I can see some boy equipment there but DH thinks its just the umbilical cord! Find out for sure soon!

Im so so sore today. Havent had a good bowel movement for about 2 weeks:( My hips still ache and its moved to my back. Ah the joys of pregnancy! At least there is a very special reward at the end! Just realised I have been drinking heaps of coke, hope I havent harmed bub, stopped drinking it yesterday. I think i was having about 3-4 glasses a day without realising. I feel so terrible now.

On a good note, my scan is in 1 week and 1 day! :smiliedance:

Hope everyone is going well xox

Goodluck Little treasures I really hope you get a place soooooooooon:fingerscrossed: It really is ridiculous the rental situation in this country, I can't beleive youa re up against 30 other people to get a place, just plain crazy!! OH and wow awesome bargain on the baby stuff on ebay, amn you can pick up good deals sometimes!

Thanks for your thoughts everyone, I am feeling 1000% better today because Xavier slept alllll night last night thank goodness, I gave him a big cuddle and thank you for being such a good boy last night!

Joy - I am sorry you are going through the same thing with your DD. I hope you are able to catchup on some sleep soon and fingerscrossed our littlies settle down before the next one arrives.

Allyoo - I reckon they do know something is going on, Xavier who is in a big bed and hasn't shown the slightest bit of interest in his cot for months. Now all of a sudden he has taken to going into the nursery and hoping into the cot pretending to be a baby, he says 'baby mummy'.
It's quite cute really, they understand alot more than we give them credit for sometimes. Maybe that is partly why he is calling out for me at night!?!?:detective:
Must be soo nice to get a new cot, ooh I'm jealous we are reusing Xav's old one but it does the job!

Mummymelly - good luck for today I hope your bubs is ok, I am sure he is just a little guy. Xavier always measured on the small side and is perfectly healthy now, so be confident your bubs is well!!

Lipsofanangel lol!! I used to drink a whole litre too, and it is waay to much to hold in! I always just drink two or three glasses of water before I go in now and have never had a complaint from the sonographer.
It is soo painful holing in a litre of fluid you poor thing!!
I'm glad your DVD came out well, gosh I am so looking forward to having one of my own to study all day hehe!
Answering your question about bubs movement. I can't say it feels exactly like tickling to me , but bubs did wake me up at 3am kicking this morning and it is such a lovely feeling Valentine!
Woohoo on the cup size increase!!

Baileysmummy - I know the time is drawing near that we too will see our bubs, can't wait! Sorry you are so sore though!
A couple of scans coming up this week, pixie and Len anyone else??????????? I just read those appointments from the "important dates" thread so if there's any I missed sorry and goodluck! Looking forward to hearing some good results!

To everyone I haven't mentioned, gosh it's hard to keep up, Niki, Jkat, Priya, Shellsbubs, mummajessy and more, hope you are all well!

Hi Everyone,

Well it looks like I have snapped out of my :gloomy: mood that I've been in. I had a great ante natal appt today. I got to see the nice diabeties educator, got to see a nice student doc and a happy chappy Obs, got to hear the heart beat and best of all I was in and out in 30mins. Lately I've been stuck there for 2 hrs which is very frustrating when I have to go every 2 weeks. Also DP stayed home with DS so it was peaceful for a change AND they said not to come back for 4 weeks next time!

:smiliedance: Got my scan tomorrow too!!! I'm still going to try not to find out the sex. It's going to be hard tho.

Julie - I can SO feel your frustration with DS. My son has been really pushing my buttons lately and DP is away for work a lot! I was having one of those "how am I gonna cope with 2 kids" weeks.

our little treasures - good luck in finding a place. :wizard:

Mummy Melly - Do you have another scan today? If so, good luck.

Ummm... I know there was more I was going to say, but I've forgot. Sorry. Hi to everyone else.

Hi everyone,

Wohoo. Just came back from my u/s. It was great. All the measurements were coinciding up to 20 weeks and 4 days. We couldn't get a fair idea of lips and nose because the bub was interested in covering them with his hands. The sonographer said that she is guessing the bub is a BOY.

I have a quick question for everyone. What did the sonographer mean by guessing because the male parts were apparent? I am just curious as i have to start shopping.:detective:

Len- Good luck with the scan tomorrow.

Julie- Good to hear that you have a goodnight sleep.

Bailey's mummy- It must be so hard being pregnant with sore hips. And don't worry about coke. I also love coke and sometimes drink one can/day. So don't you worry.

Ourlittletreasures- Good luck with finding the house.

Mummymelly- How did your scan go?

Allyoo- Wishing you all the best of health.

Good luck everyone.

Priya, Congratulations on your BOY. I have been told that if they see the boy bits it is most likely a boy. In our first scan (16weeks) they told us that it was most likely a boy as the sonographer saw bits between the legs. At our next scan (18 weeks) baby had legs together and they said most likely a girl. I have to wait to my next scan which is at end of March before I can get a better idea. . . . .so confused as started buying boy stuff and now not sure  I see so many things I want to get just don't know what colour or theme now.
I think at your 20 week scan they would get a fairly good idea so I would go with BOY.

lil -x, at what age did your DS go into a big bed I was told that you shoould move them into a big bed at least a month before baby is due. Just not sure how she will go. I think I'm worried about her hoping out of her bed and not staying there to sleep or getting into her draws and stuff :o

Thanks for all the luck guys I do need it!!

Priya~ I think they just say I guess to cover their butts!! Our lady was reallynice showed us the girls bits etc and then said I can be wrong though so keep your reciepts, lol... If you could see the bits then it is most definately a boyI could seemy ds doing a dance with his Tthere was no mistaken he was a boy!!

Wow what is the tally for girls and boys so far??

Good luck with scans tomorrow guys!!

**pixie**
26-02-2007, 03:07 PM
Pryia - That's exactly right, they only say that to 'cover their arses'. They told us with DS that it was a 60% chance to be a boy, then continued to show us all his 'bits' which were as clear as day. I asked her why she said only 60% chance and she said it was just what they had to do. Weird huh. I think ur pretty safe with what they tell u at 20wks though

Well i'm 19.5wks now and i have my U/S tomorrow. i am getting so excited, have had butterfly's in my tummy since Saturday night. I'm going to bed early tonight so it goes quicker
Unfortunately i can't tell any of you what we are having because we have decided to keep it a secret and there are a couple of people signed up to Bubhub that no us and it wouldn't be a secret anymore IYKWIM.
Don't know how long it will last though cause that is DH's idea, not mine and i am hopeless with keeping secrets lol.
Anyway might just have to leave you all some hints
Ok girls, thanks for listening to me, i'll talk to you all later...I AM SO NERVOUS 4 TOMORROW:smiliedance:

PIXIE~Well I feel better now you said you got 60% I got 95% with a girl this time!! She showed us all the bits as well!! I said to hubby how can they be sooo good at checking cleftpalates etc and not sure on the sex!?

You have to PM us with what you have, lol.. I don't know how people find out the sex and then keep it a secret!! My hubby found out the first 2 times and then the second time blabbed it to my mum.. He was telling her how he needs to sell the car and make room in the garage to set up the boys room!!! Mum acted like she never heard.. When I got home he said I think your mum knows repeated the whole story and I said "So were having a boy" He was kicking himself coznow he had told us both!! I was 35 weeks he had kept it forall that time!!

Hey everyone,
Our scan today went really really well. Bubba Boy is now back on schedule for a 10th July arrival. The sonographer said the because he is measuring right on my original dates now, that the last scan was probably just done right before a growth spurt. His head has actually measuring 22w0d, but the rest of him was right on 20w6d or a day or two before. So the average was exactly 20w6d right on. So I'm very releaved. We got a great shot of his tackle  , will be a beauty for his 21st. I'm not sure how to post photos directly into my reply, but if you have a look at my babies website that is linked below you can take a look. Also got a great 3D of his face, but he wasn't to cooperative for a full body picture.
I can't explain how realved I am now that he is back on track for ETA.

Priya, glad to hear your U/S went well too. My sonographer said something similiar about the sex too. She said that they can never be 100%, I think just to cover themselves, but she said that it's pretty definate, if you have a look you'll know what I mean.

Pixie, good luck at your scan tomorrow. I'm sure you won't need it. Bummer you can't share what you will be expecting but it will make for a nice surprise in about 4 months.

Len, all the best for your scan too tomorrow. Can't wait to hear how you go.

Hope everyone else is well.

hi everyone, ive been reading everyone's posts and you all have exciting things going on with your babies but i have had nothing interesting to report. i start pre-natal pilates today which im very excited about because i was super fit before getting pregnant and have done nothing but walk since, i think my abs and pelvic floor need some work to recover after the birth so i can sneeze without being scared:eek:

also have my next antennatal appointment today. i dont know why but i get so excited and even having to sit there and wait 2 hours i doesn't bother me. i think i just love watching other pregnant women and being a part of it all. im really hoping she'll reassure me about the little heart focus and let me have another ultrasound sometime soon. thanks by the way to all of you for your reassurance. is there some secret to going back and remembering who posted what, because i get lost after trying to remember who to write personals to:confused:

good luck to pixie with your scan today, im so jealous but so excited for you :smiliedance:

No secret sorry hun, you just have to go back through the pages and read it all if you want to be updated, can be time consuming especially in this huge thread!!
Have fun at your appt today, I am boring here too, nothing happening and my scan isnt till next Friday *sigh* havent had an antenatal visit yet either *sigh again* so boring!

Congrats Priya on your boy how exciting!!

Goodluck tomorrow Pixie!! You so have to PM us when you find out the sex, we can keep a secret promise lol!!

Mummamelly glad your scan went well, now you can relax and know bubs is just fine!

Herchy 14th march, you'll be looking forward to that date I bet, fingerscrossed you bubs opens it legs this time!:fingerscrossed:

Joy - I am not sure what age or time is best to put kids into big beds, Xavier is my first child too so he has been a bit of guinea pig, poor soul!!
I put him into his bed at 17months old and was lucky that he took to it no probs and loves it.
He does climb out and play with his toys sometimes at night so I do have to check on him a bit and for the first couple of months I would find him asleep on the floor lol!.
I have his door shut so he doesn't wander the house at night and he calls out when he wants me (our rooms aren' t very far apart). If you are going to make the change I would def do it sooner rather than later so that you have a bit of time for you both to adjust.
If you leave it to the last minute, it could be stressful for you and her if she doesn't take to it well or she is waking alot at night, you dont want to be exhausted before the new bubs is even here! Goodluck whatever you decide to do:thumbsup:

Jules, don't worry hun, all boring here too! My scan is in 7 days..........still seems soooooooo far away! Do you still have a feeling you're having a girl?

Pixie, I'm with Jules, we'll be waiting for your PM! I recon you're having a pink one! All the bnest with the scan!

Last night I was in pain. My stomach felt like it was stretching everywhere, I think it was the baby in a weird position, I could really feel "it" on my left hand side, have any of you had this type of thing happen yet?

Hope you're all having a great day!

Yesterday bubs was doing something funny in my tummy too and it was so sore I was buckled in half for about a minute until it moved, pheww ouchies!! I remember ouchy movements later in pregnancy last time, but this time I notice it really early, bubs faces inwards with its arms and legs towards by internal organs alot and I feel like I am getting punched in the intestines or something lol!

Hey everyone,
Hows things going?
For me, not much.. Bub sure does move alot.. My brain is scrambled! I am starting to forget so much! like i'll be in the shower and forget to wash the shampoo out or just put the conditioner ontop, LOL! I go to get a drink and half way there i forget what i was doing!

Bailey's mum, Maybe you need some more fiber in your diet. My dr told me to eat weetbix everyday and that has helped me alot! I get sick of it though lol. Dont feel bad, I wouldn't worry to much about the coke... Only 1 week to go for your scan, woohoo! Thanks for the post on my bub's website too...

Mummy Melly, It sure is painful having to hold so much drink in! Its great to hear your scan went well, congrats.. I seen the 3D of his face, its amazing! Your so lucky to know what you will be having! I'm jealous lol...

Priya, Congratulations on your lil man! They can already be cheeky hey lol.. Everyone's right, they say these things to cover themselves thats all!

Niki, We share the same EDD!

Allyoo, Good to hear your feeling better, and hey try not to worry or stress things will soon come together!

Lollydove, I am the same! I was super fit too! I just cant wait to get back to the gym lol! Let us know how today goes and if you get to have another U/S! I want another one too, I am so jealous of all the mum's finding out the sex! My little bugger had his/her legs crossed!!

Lil X-man, Good luck for your scan next friday!

Hi Everyone,

priya - congrats on your bubba boy!!

Pixie - hope all is well at your scan today! Yeah - PM us. We won't tell!!

cmd'smum - I hope you are feeling better today - or at least more comfortable!

lipsofanangel - I think we all go through the brainless stage - hahaha, unfortunately it sometimes continues even after you have the bub!

Lil X-man - Wow, good on X being in a big bed. I can't imagine my DS in a big bed yet. Besides the cot sometimes becomes a handy jail! Hahaha!

lollydove - hope all is good at your appt today! Here is an example of me being brainless. I always read your name as being dollylove. It wasn't until I had to type it that I realised. Silly me!

I had my scan today!! :smiliedance: All looked good. But there are still some confusion over my due date which is very frustrating considering mine has to be worked out exactly... She had me due in Aug which is when I first thought I would be due, but my last scan said 30 July. I dunno! Anyway, I get to go back for another scan in 4 weeks time so they can have another go at EDD and get a proper look at the heart. Fine with me - I love scans.

We'll we didn't ask what the sex was (I was really please that DP didn't ask. I was all ready to jump in and scream NOOOO... DON'T TELL HIM!! if he did.) But we both looked really hard, but came up with different answers.. we are hopeless. Still :fingerscrossed: for a girl tho.

Then I had to go for a big blood test and I was on such a high from the scan I didn't even notice what they were doing and didn't even think I was going to be sick or pass out like I often do. :yelclap:

Hi to everyone I missed! Hope you are having a great day!

Hi everyone. Ive been poppingon lately but havent had the chance to reply.

Len- Often the first dating scan u have is the most accurate..after that babies grow at different rates. U are lucky u get to have more scans tho!!

lipsofanangel- haha the pregnancy brain has kicked in! Isn't it funny. I was lying in bed last night thinking did I put the milk in the fridge or freezer after I had a drink. I got up to check and opened the freezer and forgot what I was looking for!!

cmd's mum- I get that stretching alot! Often on the one side and I can feel bubs all pressed up against me. Its uncomfortable but exciting too!

Lil X-man- Hope ur a little more comfortable today! Its crazy when u can be in so much pain from a tiny lil bubba.........not looking forward to that pressure and stretching of being really close to the end! Also when u put ur DS into a big bed how was he at first? My DS gets abit funny and worried about it.

Priya- Congrats on ur BABY BOY!!

lollydove- I do prenatal pilates! I started around 15weeks and am totally loving it! Its such a good workout. I actually had my class this morning!

Well to anyone else Ive missed out I hope ur all doing well and feeling ok!!
Not much to report. Ive moved DS into his new room and he loves his Wiggles doona cover and spends most of the day in there. He still sometimes wants to sleep in the cot tho so I havent started the baby room yet! Feeling ok.....very sore tho. I think its just from all the lifting and moving I did on the weekend.

Priya - congrats on your BOY news

Len - glad your scan went well

Talked with the doctor this morning about the regular tightening in my stomach (bh) and said it is very normal to be getting this so early on after having 2 or 3 children. I dont remember having this so early on with my other 2, glad it is all normal dh panicked lastnight thinking i was about to have the baby then and there!!!!
Well some of you have reached the half way mark i will this saturday and look forward to it! so many people ask how many weeks are you and it just sounds so much further along when you get to say twenty something.

Say well done LEN I can't believe you didn't ask!! I was the same with dd and ds however I wanted to with this one as it didn't matter!! I also have a lot of different dates I wasgiven the 7/7/07 then the 9 weeks scan said 16/7/07 and now my 20 week said 12/07/07!! Same happened with dd but dates were close and ds was the same but he was 22/7, 26th and 30th and didn't come until 8/08 so I am starting to think I will go by the 12th as I don't want to be having people ring all the time asking where she is!! This is what happens when you BF and fall preggars your cycle is all over the place!!

I also had a shocker of a night with baby princess doing big stretches and I could see the huge kicks coming out of my tummy!! I was holding her all night!!

lipsofangel, don't worry hun, you're completely normal, I've done worse!!:o

Len, you have will power! I hope you get your little girl! Hopefully they can give you a better EDD next scan, hey at least you'll get to see bubs again!;)

Steph, how cute is your DS! Hmmmmm....maybe I should get DD a doona cover with something on it, unlikely she'll stay in her room though

shells, glad that your Dr said that the tightening is normal, I feel the same sometimes and was also thinking that it was a little too early for this to be happening!

Treasures, how cute, I've only seen movements on my tummy but not actual "kicks" yet!

Hello ladies!

Sorry I have been missing a bit lately, busy busy here atm, these kids are on the go all the time, don't have time to scratch myself between playgroups, kindergym, mums group and pre-school. Have been starting to have a nap again when the kids do, or by the everning I get terrible headaches because i'm tired.

Other than that everything is ok, bub is getting more active now, DF felt it last night too, very exciting!

Please bear with me if i miss anyone i am very sorry!

treasures - sounds like you have an active little bub in there, hope she sleeps a bit for you tonight!

shellsbubs - i have been havng a lot of b/h already too, i was a bit worried that it was too early but the middie says it's normal for a third?!

Steph - glad to hear DS likes his new room! No more moving now hun, don't hurt yourself thats what ourpartners are for!

Len - Well done for not finding out, I found it very hard! Glad to hear your bub is ding well, and don't worry too much bout the dates, they say the first is the most acurate, they keep trying to change mine too...

lipsangel - I know what you mean bout the brain thing, it won't get better till your bub is older either i'm sorry to tell you, cause then you'll have too much of everything else to think about and rember!

Lil-x - i'm still guessing girl for you :fingerscrossed: Hope that bub stops beating you up soon, and your DS is sleeping better :hugs:

cmd - I could definately feel 'it' last night, all over one side, very uncomfortable! They say that soon they start to settle into a head down possie, and don't move too much, so "they" say...

Priya - congrats on your BOY news! Bet your out buying lots of blue things??

lolliedove - how did your appt go today? (at the bottom when your posting a repy you can click on the review the whole thread button)

Mummymelly - Glad to hear your scan went well! Had a look at your piccies, a great one of his little face there..

Herchy - all the people at uni will soon be wondering what you are laughing at for no reason in class  Good to hear your getting lots of movement though, it's a great feeling!

pixi - how did the scan go? Looking forward to hearing about "it" and seeing some piccies!

Baileysmummy - Hope that soon you start to feel better hun, pregnancy can be annoying, but we get a great reward at the end!

allyoo - The cot sounds great, makes it feela bit more real I'm guessing. So far there is not a lot for bubs out here, can't wait to get it all out of storage again!

Joy - Hope your DD starts behaving soon, mine is teethig atm, horrible time to be doing it i reckon. But i'd rather she got them all BEFORE the new bub!

Niki - Glad to hear all is good with your bubs, how are you feeling these days?

Once again so sorry if i have missed anyone, there are so many of us July Mums now, we chat too much!!

Hi everyone,

Thanks a lot again.

Mumma_Jessy- A very very busy mumma hey. Nice to hear from you.

Len- Good to hear that your scan went well. It is nice that you are getting the chance to see the bubs again. I feel as if i missed the chance to see it in detail and will love to see him again.

Pixie- How did the scan went?

Shellsbubs- Good to hear that your apptt went well.

Youngmumsteph- Wow. Wiggles doona cover. Where do you get it?

Lollydove- Wow. Prenatal pilates. I am doing nil exercise. It is good to do something though.

Julie- Can you feel where the head and various body parts are? In my case i feel a lot of pressure on my bladder. When the sonographer was doing my scan she told me that the legs of the baby are pointing towards my bladder and the head is facing upwards towards my ribs. She was saying that the babies are actively motile so DH should not worry.

Symone- Pregnancy brain. Welcome to the world of pregnancy.

MummyMelly- Just looked at your daughter and boy's website. Charlize is such a cutie and the 3D photo of the baby is so nice.

Sorry if i have missed anyone. Good luck everyone.

Bye. Love.

Hey Steph Xavier was a little trouble when I first put him in bed mainly just coz he kept hoping out and playing with his toys all the time, so would get to sleep late. But he was never phased about the transition. I know alot of kiddies are scared about moving to the big bed but luckily for me Xavier just thought it was cool to have a big bed!! We also got our doona off ebay for $35 brand new it has a blue holden SS on it, he looooooooooves cars so thinks it's awesome!
Priya, I am not sure what end is what when I'm feeling bubs. I can feel the size of bubs end to end when it's postionsed right but not sure which is the bum and the head lol!! I defintely feel the kicks in my bladder and bubs is still very mobile rolling around like a little acrobat. Like mummjessy said I guess the movement will change soon when they assume the head down position and don't move as much ( in theory), just kick and punch lol!

Glad your appt went well today Shellsbubs, I am still not sure when I feel that uncomfortable tight feeling, is that actually a BH? I thought it was just baby changing postion, interesting to know that you can feel bh's this early on and that it is normal.

Len - great news your scan went well today, it wil be interesting to see what date bubs actually arrives on huh?!!

MummaJessy - you sound busy alright, I am like that from Thursday - Sunday busy busy busy, but this is the quiet part of the week for me now so I am enjoying it. Good girl for getting in those day naps, you need them:thumbsup:

Little treaures - how lovely you holding little princess all night Valentine I know the feeling , my little un woke me up at 3am the other night and I was awake for ages just holding my tum feeling the contact we had going on awesome the best part of pregnancy!

Ok better get dinner on for the starving hoards........

You ladies sure can talk  , I can't keep up. Thanks for all your thoughts, it's great to know that people care. It sure is good though to hear you all are well.
I don't know if I have enough time to do personals to everyone, but I'll try.

Priya, have you been shopping yet for any boys stuff? And thanks for having a look at my babies web page.

Mumma_jessy, you sound soooo busy lately. I hope you take it easy sometimes and rest up, I'm starting to think about taking a nap when DD does in the afternoon now too, lately my body just seems to get so tired so easily. Thanks for commenting on my babies photos, it's always nice when people compliment your babies, thanks again.

Pixie, go the blue team!!! Did you think you were having a boy? I kind of had a feeling that it was a he this time around, I would have put money on it. It was the same with DD, just had a feeling, but we didn't find out with her not until she was born anyway, and it was a lovely surprise. Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!

Our little treasures, that must have been an awesome feeling seeing your bubba kick like that, thats amazing, I didn't get that with DD or this one yet, kind of hoping I do though, I think it would be amazing.

Len, what a wonderful surprise you'll be getting in 4 months time. Babies hardly ever come on time, so I wouldn't try and worry to much about your EDD, I'd just pick a date and stick to it, wooohooo on getting another scan though.

LollyDove, how was the pilates? I wish I had the energy at the moment to do some exercise, I know I would feel better once I did some, but I'm just so knackered lately.

Youngmom steph, have you given your DS the doona yet? I'm not too sure yet, but I think my DD loves Dora the Explorer, as soon as it comes on she just stares at the T.V the whole time.

Sorry to everyone I have missed, hopefully I'll get some more time tomorrow to see how you all are.

Take care everyone.

pixie: congrats on your baby blue news :)

lil-x: thanks for the advise just got my DD sleeping through again :fingerscrossed: only took two nights. I will try the move to a big bed in a few weeks time, once again :fingerscrossed: here's hoping she takes to it

mumma_Jessy: Thanks for the well wishes, she is back to sleeping through only wakes and calls out once or twice and then is back asleep. Hope the teething goes smoothly and is over soon. I agree that it is best they get it over and done with sooner rather than later.

hi everyone, you are all such sweeties with your long list of personals to each other and thanks so much for all your help and asking how things went today. prenatal pilates was a lot harder than i expected, it really buggered my muscles (but at the same time i was never out of breath so nothing like a normal workout) but it was great! im the least flexible woman in the world im sure of it so this should really help. not sure if lil bub liked me squashing her with my pelvic floor contractions though she was kicking away like crazy FINALLY :smiliedance:

i have been a bit run down just the last two weeks, it must be how all you ladies feel every day with young ones to run around after. tiana is 8 this year so she doesn't keep me too busy apart from driving her around the place, but i own a business where im on my feet all day and its really become noticeable just the last two weeks how bad it is on my body. im doing uni (or trying to) as well and cant keep awake in my lectures  actually been thinking about selling the business this last week... its looking more and more appealing each day.

well goodnight sweet mummies i will try my best for personals next time around

oh and for those that were asking my appointment today was very reassuring. im with the bmcs clinic and the midwives are the sweetest things im so happy i went with them. they will do another scan at 32 weeks and are quite sure the heart focus will be gone but my placenta is only 1.2cms from my cervix so they need to keep an eye on that too. and i got the ok to sleep on my back until my body says no, yay!

Pixie- Congrats on your bubba boy!

Lollydove - I admire you are going to prenatal pilates! I dont think id have the energy. And yay about sleeping on your back, I find its the most comfortable for me sometimes. I try not to do it too often though as I get paranoid! No matter what a doctor tells me lol..

Mumma_jessy - You certainly sound like you have your hands full a bit there! Hopefully u are managing to take small breaks to have a lie down in between it all :hugs:

Priya - Congrats on your baby boy too! Hope you are feeling well!

lipsofanangel - Sounds like you have a great case of pregnancy brain there :D , from what I hear it doesnt go away either  ! I have done the same sort of thing and now i just find it so amusing and love laughing at myself lol

Wow this is turning into one mega post..
Lil X Man, Jkat, Youngmumsteph, Ourlittletreasures, Cmds mum, Mummy melly and ANYONE else I have missed I hope you guys are all well. Lil X man dont worry your appointment will come before you know it, mine is in two days and I thought it would never arrive!!

Mummymelly- I haven't started shopping yet but i am going to soon. We have a lot of things to buy.

Glad it went well today Lolly dove, that must be reassuring for you hun fingercrossed that palcenta of your s moves up a bit by the next scan:fingerscrossed:
Am off to bed now but I just wanted to suggest to you Priya the phil and ted E3 double pram.
I reckon they are the most compact and easy to steer double pram on the market, we are definately getting one. Only prob is they don't come cheap between $500-600 but I think it's worth it when you have two kids to lug around lol!!

Nitey nite:angel: , will post replies to everyone in the morning I am sooo sleepy *yawn*.

Priya, I'm currently searching for a Tandem Pram as well. I personally don't like the look of side by side ones either.
Ourlittletreasures- what brand is yours, I might have a look at it.
I'm in the process of looking at buying an overseas double Travel system product but I have to get it approved to meet Australian Safety Standards first. Which is going slowly, honestly I don't think it's going to happen. Which is unfortunate as I really wanted to use a capsule this time around.

Happy Birthday Cody!! happybirthday

Im also on the looking for a double pram wagon!! Im probably going to get the Steelcraft side by side tandem. It fits through standard doorways and most importantly is easy to lift in and out of my little boot.
I considered the Phil and Teds E3 but it just wasn't for me. I didnt like how the baby was covered but the toddler then they were right near the ground.

our little treasures
28-02-2007, 03:12 PM
I find the look look of the phil and ted very scarry!! Also I like being able to see both at a glance and not have to worry about the 1 in the back bashing the one in the front. I have seen this often!! I have a childcare and it wasthe lightest on the market at the time! Which is good if you do all the shopping on your own like I do. I own a sports coupe and it fits with room in my boot!!

Well some sad news for me!! I just had the phone call that I can't give birth at the Berwick hospital even though they said I could they now have said I haemaraged twice so I am too high risk!!! So I cried, lol. The hosi is 10mns up the road heaps bigger and newer not to mention all the good staff have shifted there and this is coming from the midwifes themselfs!! So it says alot for what I am going into!!

Anyway have to fly and fax some stuff to a realestate!!

Hi,

Happy first birthday Cody.:yelclap:

Well, girls, I haven't have a look at any of the prams. Have seen the double prams in supermarket only. So i have no idea. Am going to have a look quickly.

Ourlittletreasures- Can you please post a pic of yours?
Good luck with the househunt.
So sorry to hear about your hospital news. Where have you considered now?

Lollydove- I stayed in the hospital for five days. They say that it is a norm for vaginal delivery. It gives you a lot of rest. I had a second degree tear so i needed some rest. That was good for me.

take care everyone.

lollydove
28-02-2007, 07:21 PM
priya- is that the worst tear you can get? mine was the worst as well but ive never known whether its second degree or if there's such a thing as third degree with tears?

i want to stay in hospital 4 days like i did with tiana, i LOVED being in hospital! and that way i get to bond with the baby and tiana and my husband can do some daddy/daugther bonding alone as well before new bubs comes. ive been told a lot that for your second they try get you out sooner though... hope not :shame:

The worst is 4th degree which requires immediate surgery.

I had 3rd degree with Boof but wont go into it anymore than that as i dont want to scare anyone especially the first timers.

Will update a little later as ive just had the phone ring !

Hi,

Lollydove-

This is the info i got on net. There are four degrees of tears that can occur during delivery:

First degree tears involve the vaginal mucosa and connective tissue.

Second degree tears involve the vaginal mucosa, connective tissue and underlying muscles.

Third degree tears involve complete transection of the anal sphincter.

Fourth degree tears involve the rectal mucosa.

I feel it is great to have a stay in hospital as long as you can because ultimately you have to start doing the housework when you reach home. At that time you need maximum rest. It is my opinion.

Ok im back.

Ummmm lets see where do i start !

Had my middies appt today but they are making me go back next week as they want me to do the 3hr GD test where i have to also have a special diet for 3 days prior to the test. Not happy Jan.
They are also demanding bloods to check my Ruebella & CP immunity & even though i just had an u/s a few weeks ago they want the "true" 19wk scan *sigh*. What a drama honestly a home birth is looking better & better !
As DP says i can always refused but i will go have a talk with my g.p she is awesome.

They didnt even have anything about Boof's birth so they asked me what happened. Yeah awesome shame i dont even know the half of it

Im feeling somewhat deflated tonite that even though the visit wasnt a bad one it sorta made me feel even more scared about this impending birth & what the hell am i in for this time. Im actually feeling like i dont want to go through with this all right now to be honest.

While I had 3rd degree with both they discharged meafter 3 days with #2 but I stayed notlooked after as ds was in SCN..

While I agree with allyoo it will scare alot of first time mums please please read up on it!! After having DD and even ds I couldn't believe the problems I had that I was never informed of!! When I had bowel incontenence etc I thought it was something wrong with me and the pain etc!! I think it should be something women do find out more about..

At the hospital they reccomend 2midnight stays.. I was discharged with both on the third day even after blood transfusions and tears etc!!

ALLYOO~ I am also worried about this birth afterhaving 2 really long labours and haemorraging tearing etc!! At my hosi appoint they didn't have the birth records either hence my phone call today!!
Was your rebella checked at the start of pregnancy?? Are we suppose to be having the GD test now or is this because you had it with boof?? ds was a larger birth baby and didn't have it with either my first 2 as I refused!!

reAllytee

our little treasures - I totally agree with you that new mums should read about it. I wish i had been told but it all seems to be glossed over. Even now i keep being told not to scare the newbies.
Im just crossing fingers & toes that no more damage is done this time as i dread the thought when i already have a prolapse !

I asked to be released from hospy after 2 days because i was in a room with 3 others due to them having no spare rooms. I was to have had a private room due to my dramas but nope so i left. Cried when i got home lol cause i couldnt walk up the stairs but hey thats life lol. They werent happy about me leaving either but they cant stop you if you want to leave at any stage.
This time i hope the stay is better otherwise meh i shall come home again !

My immunity wasnt checked no so yeah fair call i just hate all the freaking tests i mean cmon !!!!
The GD is because my mum has just been diagnosed with diabetes so big flashing light to them. I did have a GD test when pg with Boof but nothing like this im not even sure how im meant to eat the foods they want me to eat ! I didnt have GD last time even though Boof was a big baby & even though they still tested me afterwards as they didnt believe me
Im going to speak with my g.p & DP wants me to refuse if i dont want to do it. But i then get the guilts about well what if i do have it & im putting the baby at risk. I mean honestly its all too much.
Plus me who shouts her mouth off turned into a little mouse who couldnt even say no to anything that was said ! Which then makes me stressed because i fear when seeing the doctor the next appt if they do have my records finally they may get all bully boy about a c/s.

Arrrrgggh !!!

Honestly what us women go through those men should whimper at our feet !!!!

01-03-2007, 01:46 AM
Ally, Why can't you just do the normal 1 hr test? Why do they want you to do a 3 hr test? I realise your mum has diabetes but cmon, that doesnt mean you're going to get GD, especially since you didnt get it with boof! As for your next birth, have you considered a birthing centre? You never know sweety, you may just have an easier birth this time, who knows!!!!:fingerscrossed: If you are that nervous, would you consider having a planned c/s or does that scare you too?

You poor thing, what you went through :hugs: Remember we are here for you to vent away!

lollydove
01-03-2007, 07:23 AM
alyoo it doesn't sound very fair you have to do a 3 hour test, surely they can do a prelimenary test first then go further if they need to? and how sweet is your DP, seems he wants to make sure you're happy and comfortable for this pregnancy.
what kind of foods do they expect you to eat?

priya
01-03-2007, 07:56 AM
Hi,

Allyoo- I can't figure out why you are going to have a 3 hr test. I just read the info on the web and it is asking too much. It says.

For three days before the test, you'll be told to eat at least 150 grams of carbohydrate a day. If you eat a normal diet and have an extra piece of bread at each meal, you'll likely be getting enough carbs. For eight to 14 hours before the test, you can't eat or drink anything but sips of water (and you're not supposed to smoke or exercise either), so you'll want to schedule it for first thing in the morning.

When you arrive for the test, the technician will take a blood sample to measure your "fasting blood glucose level" and then ask you to drink either a more concentrated dose or a larger volume of the glucose solution. Then brace yourself for three more arm pricks, as your blood is tested every hour for the next three hours. The technician should alternate arms each time she draws your blood.

You should ask for a one hour screening test because it screens most of the pregnant women.

Why are you having such a early GD test because it is usually done at 24-28 weeks?
My mother is a diabetic for 15 years now but my doctor didn't ask for 3 hr test.
I can not understand.
Anyways feel free to PM me. I can't imagine what you are going through.:hugs:
Take care.

Ourlittletreasures- You are such a brave girl to take discharge only after 3 days after third degree tear. I n my case i found those five days in hospital the only time when i could rest.

SO SORRY FOR THE LONG LONG POST, GIRLS.

Take care everyone.

What a lot of chatting! I was terrified thinking about birth again when i was pregnant with DD, turned out to be completely opposite to DS, thank god! I guess what i'm trying to say is don't stress, you never know what will happen, you could have it really easy this time, once you've done it once it's amazing how your body rembers to do it all again, and this time with more efficiency!

I'm having a nice quiet morning, DS is at pre-school so DD and i hung out at toys'r'us for a while and had a little shop, bought her a little teddy back pack that is also a harness, she has decided she hates sitting still, but won't hold hands either, and carrying her is starting to hurt me!

Still hot here, i can't wait for the cool change expected over the weekend, i can't stand it much longer!

is anyone else not hungry? I hardly want to eat at all at the moment, i have to force myself. Not because I feel sick, i'm just not hungry at all!

Must go, have to pick DS up, but will come back later on

Hey ladies, just a quick post as im really tired and need to rest! After a grueling 2 and a half hours being proked and prodded by the sonographer she finally finished and checked every part of the baby and its all looking good. Although I am measuring at 22 weeks instead of 20  so I think it will be one long/big baby (me and df are over 6 ft!)

And...

Its a boy!!! :smiliedance:

Baby was quite stubborn though and wouldnt move much! but we definetly saw its bits lol!
Feel quite sick now after it all because the sonographer was prodding my stomach ALOT and for 2 hours and I didnt sleep a wink last night.. Gonna have a rest now.. Take care people!

lollydove - priya's previous post stated what i have to do which is for 3 days prior eat certain foods then fast overnite & start the test early morning which will take 3hrs all up & i cant move !!!!

Niki - You poor thing here i am whinging im uncomfy at nite yet i can only imagine how it must be for you !!!!

mumma_jessy - Thanks im trying not to stress its just a little hard when im still scared about what happened with Boof.

Laine - Congrats !!!!! :smiliedance: I always measured ahead with Boof & he was 57cms long when born & 10lb !!!! But totally understandable when i have a 6'5 partner !!! Big babies are great !

OLT - Oh hun how horrible !!! Im really hoping you find something soon :hugs:

our little treasure- this is awful for you!!! have you tried putting in a cover letter for the owner pleading your case (sounds ridiculous i know but we did it once, felt like i was applying for a job!) or offering a little above the asking price? thats probably what everyone is doing though gosh i feel for you i really hope you get something great and even better than all these others you have tried for :fingerscrossed:

laine thats wonderful about you bubba boy!! how tall is your partner? i really thought this lil girl of mine would be huge because my husband is 6'7" and my dd tiana is SOOoooo tall but her natural father was only 6'1". this one seems so lil though and is slightly under the size its supposed to be. probably a good thing, i was worried she would be a giant!

Thanks for all the :hugs: girls....

Needle went ok.. It doesn't hurt, but I'm not good with needles and it takes about 10 secs (stick it in, press button, count to 10, pull it out, etc) so I felt like I would :barf: afterwards but didn't. It will get easier tho.

allyoo - Yep, it is your right to refuse tests. I am not trying to talk you into it (but, I've had a few of these), and not that this really makes any difference, but I think the GTT it is only a 2hr test, but they take 3 lots of bloods. 1 b/t to start, drink, then 1 an hour later and then another an hour after that = 2hrs. And you can move, just can't leave the building. They don't want you going for a run... :D

Congrats on your baby boy news Laine! :yelclap:

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes for Cody he had a really good day but had no idea what was going on but he got some really nice stuff but i think by the time he turns 3 we will need a bigger house to fit in all the toys  . People spoil him to much.

Congratulations to all those who have found out the sex of bubba you must be having fun shopping. We are out numbered by boys atm. I really wanted to find out the sex of ours at the scan but i resisted and now i am glad i didn't.

Anyone else hot hot all the time i just cant seem to cool down i hate it i am always sweating  the temp here is not all that hot but i am still hot got the air conditioner going and freezing everyone else in the place but they can just put a jumper on.

I am refusing for sure because the test you are talking about is yet a different one !!!! There are 3 tests now ... Bloomin ridiculous especially when they arent even sure if they are worth it !!! But yeah with the one i spoke of i got all the directions off the midwife & you cant move

Spoke with my g.p today & even she is trying to work out what drugs they are on lmao. She is confused because for starters i shouldnt even have this done until 28wks ! But also due to no dramas through the family & no GD last time its really over kill.
So im going to do the challenge test which is have blood taken drink glucose then wait an hour then have more blood taken & i can leave. Will see what that says before going any further.

Still waiting on speaking with the independant middie but nothing else new around here.

Hope everyone else is going well :hugs:

Hello all, I am still around (certainly "round" anyway)

I haven't caught up on all the posts so I have absolutely no idea what's going on. But  to everyone, new and old, :hugs: to everybody that needs them and :smiliedance: to everyone who has discovered the sex of their bubbas. to those who have resisted finding out what their bundles are, you are much stronger than me!!!

I have my ultrasound on Tuesday and although I have spent the last 18 weeks convincing myself that I don't need to know the sex of the baby, I am predicting that I will ask "can you tell what it is" before I have even laid on the bed.

I hope everyone is feeling well. Take care everybody and I will pop my head in again soon!!!!!

I can't wait to find out what you guys are having on tuesday!!

Neither can I, :D . Well I don't really care to be honest, just want to know that bubs is healthy and doing well!

What is with all this tiredness already? I didn't feel this tired whilst pg with DD until very late into my pgcy, but with this one, I feel  already!

Has anyone bought any new things for baby recently?

shellsbubs
04-03-2007, 07:21 AM
cd's mum - the tiredness! goodness me i cant believe how tired my body is!! Yesterday out shopping i felt like i was a waddling pregnant lady close to their due date, which i am not:D

Things i have bought recently are some bunny rugs (target had 30% off) and some cot sheet sets (kmart had 35%off) and bottles/microwave steriliser (20%off, incase bf does not go well) - mainly just keeping an eye out when things are on sale as as you can all gather baby products are not that cheap!
But it is fun looking and buying:yes: still have cot, car seat etc etc etc to go.

Hi guys, been flat tack here too, between work, playgroup, swimming lessons and shopping ( which I tend to waddle too and spend half my time looking for the loo's at the shopping centre as my bladder is useless!)
So haven't been on here much in the past couple of days.
Goodluck for Tuesday guys!!!! Man I wish mine was Tuesday, I am going to be wishing this next few days away, roll on Friday hurry up already! Looking forward to hearing all your guys good results though in the meantime, it will keep me sane!
I sound selfish but I am looking forward to seeing if bubs is healthy and a good size but I am more keen to just find out once and for all what the sex is. I have had dreams I had a boy and then a week later I dreamed a girl so I am so confused and just itching to find out.
Gosh what will we do if bubs has it's legs crossed, I'll be insane by the time it's born!

I haven't bought anything new lately except fabric and paints, canvas etc for the decorating I have been doing in bubs room. I think I will buy heaps once I find out the sex of bubs.

Hi DQ, good to hear you are still in bubhub land and doing well look forward to hearing how your scan went.

Ally - How did you get on changing your GD test? I hope they agree to let you do the short test, that one is so much easier. I did the test 3 times last pregnancy as a volunteer for a GD research program at the Mater in Brissy, the hardest part was sculling a bottle of fizzy drink lol!:fingerscrossed: for you hun.

Congratulations Laine on your little BOY how lovely for you, boys are awesome!

Len - I am sorry you are having to inject yourself everyday, strong woman that must be so hard, I don't know how I would cope in your situation. Good on ya hun.

Shellsbubs sorry you are so tired hun, it is harder this time isnt it? I cope alright throughout the day so long as I get alot of sleep at night. I seem to need like 10hours of sleep at night right now or I feel exhausted and ready for a nap by lunch time!

Okey dokey well wishes to everyone else catchya soon!

hi everyone  hope everyone's well. ooh cant wait to hear about everyone's scans tuesday too!!! and lil x man im dying to find out if you're having a boy or a girl. i was having the same dreams before i found out, every night it would be different as to whether it was a boy or girl. my pregnancy is so similar to when i had tiana so i kinda had an idea it might be a girl, but then thought i was just trying to prepare myself because my husband wanted a boy so bad (i must admit at the time i kinda did too and i feel bad now because if they told me they made a mistake and it really was a boy id be disappointed again!).
ill be thinkin of ya tuesday ladies only two more sleeps yay :smiliedance:

i have been buying everything on ebay, nothing from the shops. i got a jeep jogger pram second hand but awesome condition for $150, a jeep porta cot brand new for $160 and they're worth double that, a gorgeous orange leather highchair, peg perego i think it is? its limited edition only a year old and they paid $420 but i got it for $120! bargains!! plus the cutest lil designer sweetie girl clothes...ooh its too fun buying once you know what you're having, maybe i shouldn't have found out after all ill be broke soon
