Julie - I couldn't agree more - it must be so frustrating. Hopefully this will be your month, but if not, an FS sounds like an excellent move. :hugs:

Sam - yep, thankfully nothing else went wrong today! (insert "phew" smiley) Lovely DP brought me some clothes to change into, but I only have two outfits that fit at the moment - work one and weekend one, so he brought the weekend one, which was better than staying in the wet work one, and I got a disapproving up-and-down look from the *****y partner... but who cares. As for the major disaster I caused by getting something wrong - you will all be so proud that I didn't cry! I did drop two tears, but it wasn't a real cry, so I was very impressed with myself. I so can't wait until maternity leave.

Hey Toady, How's the nappy making going? I have been doing a bit of research and from what I read I would think that a fitted fllece pocket nappy stuffed with cotton or something absorbtive would keep your babies bum dry, the sheets dry, and stop most leaks. Is that the conclusion you came to? Is that what you're making? How did the test runs go on your practice baby? Do you still need a wrap over the nappy if it's fleece?
Morning all,
On the nappy topic, a friend just sent me some info about biodegradable disposable nappies. Naturally the choice would be cloth nappies or similar but there are some situations where disposable are a blessing. These are called Safeties Nappies. My friend has been using them for a few weeks and says that they are on a par with Huggies in cost and quality.

Hey that's good to know Sam! Thanks for the tip  Do you know where you can get them from? (or is that a dumb question.. I've never bought nappies before!)
It's such a minefield of information out there and everyone reckons their solution is the perfect one.
Hey Fish
My friend has been getting them through someone who is a distributor but apparently they will be generally available very soon - probably in supermarkets. Is it possible to send photos via PM's? I have a photo / advertisement for the nappies, might help to recognise them on the shelves!
I found that no one solution suits everyone - when DD was little I used cloth because i only had her to look after and the extra work wasn't a problem. But when we were out, disposables were a godsend because who wants to cart home soggy smelly bundles of towelling? :o
when DS was little I used a mixture of both, as looking after toddler plus studying and a bit of part time work meant my time was way limited. I always felt bad about the fact that they didn't biodegrade though, so I'm really happy to hear about these ones!
Hi everyone.
Ive had issues with logging on to bubhub so i havent been able to post a lot - just wanted to say hi to all - im now a little over 5 weeks and have the most atrocious m/s!
Little Toad - your belly pics are looking so good! Wow - time flies, already 7 months!
Julie how you doing?
Hey DjF - sorry to hear about the awful m/s. It's all a good sign though. Any twins in the family? I'm doing fine - just lots of bd'ing and using opks every day waiting for O. Nothing has showed up on the OPKs at all so far but had a big dip in temp this morning, although I also had the a/c on all night too as it was 40 degrees here yesterday. So not sure what's going on there. Only time will tell.
Shelle - how did you go with the heat? Did you loose power? I heard the trams were a nightmare. Am thinking of finishing up this job again - do you know of anything going at your place in property?
Toad - where are you?
Fish - happy nappy hunting!

Herro ladies!!
I'm in the nesting mood! On the weekend I brought everythig uo from the garage and washed all the clothes and sheets etc 9 loads! All reay to go inside the chest of drawers arriving on Saturday.
Only things I need to get now are things like nappy liners, lotions etc.
Hi bunny_79 .. seams very surreal that people follow each others pregnancies.. flattering though. Anyway, with the 4d scan we had, the toadlet had the placenta on one sde of its face, theother side of it's face was pressed up against the uterine wall and it had both hands covering all it'sface. The only thng we saw was an eye ball! And of course it's two hands.
Samh:
I have an odd question. In the early weeks, did your belly disappear?? Some days I have a very pronounced pregnant belly and on others it is only slightly rounded. yes..In the mornngs it was very flat and bloating made it pop out heaps.. and food of course! Even now I think.. "Hey, where did toadlet go!!"
Also for boidegradable nappies check out Bambo Nature nappies.. excellent cost wise for eco nappies.
Julie. That's fantatic news you might get something happening with Clomid. It can be very frustrating having such long cycles. Also, just so you know, I never got any lines on my OPK the month I fell pg.
Fishy, not long till your 18 week scan! When is it booked for?
With nappies, I made pocket napies and bought bamboo prefolds to go inside. I finally finished my last lot and now have way too many at 36. This is the last lot I made (http://www.bizztools.net/misc/last_batch.jpg).
Shelle.. glad your tea wasn't hot. You must be excited about taking matenity leave. I am trying to get all my work done and slowly getting through it.
DJF. Hope you get over your m/s. I was lucky not to get it too badlyy. No barfing. My tummy has grown a bit in the last couple of weeks since my photo.
Baby Dancer.. I can't belive it's only 5 weeks till Junior pops along. How are things? Are you all prepared?
MMB, did you have your scan booked? How are your feet and ankles? Mine are massive still. It helps wearing the airplane socks and strapping them.
I now only have 7 weeks left!! That's 20 climbs.

Gosh Toad, Those nappies are absolutely gorgeous!!!
Are they PUL on the outside and fleece on the inside? Can you pretty please send me the design you used to make them? I love them! Where did you buy the material from? (tell me all your secrets  )
Oh DjF, congrats for making it to 5 weeks, sorry to hear m/s is big and bad, but take relief in the fact that means you're less likely to m/c.
Hope you get a line really soon Julie, what day are you on now?
LT - I've heard others say before too that they O'd without getting a line on the old OPK. Hmm. :detective: Am having a bt on Saturday to see if I've O'd so it will be interesitng to see the result. And of course to see what my temp does tomorrow. It was a drop rom 36.27 to 36.01 - so not massive but a bit of a drop. And considering it was 40 degrees yesterday! Hehe. Now I'm just over analysing. Those nappies look fantastic!! I think I'll be picking your brains when I get my BFP for sure!! Where did you get the pattern from? You have done a fantastic job!!
Fish - Am on CD18!!

Thanks girls.
Ok, nappy secrets.
I bought the fleece straight from Malden Mills in the states. 1m of microfleece (i think the microvelour is the best) costs around $10 US. It makes 8 nappy liners.
The PUL plain stuff is actually better for nappies than the prints, although the prints look great, every day use it is best to use plain. It cost me from an ebay seller in the states about $8US a meter, one meter makes 6 nappies.
The print is about $10 per meter, making 4 nappies.
You can buy these materials from yahoo usergroups for cheaper.. but they can take 3 months to arrive. I am still waiting on some to come that I ordered in August.
The pattern I used is one I made up, had it tested on a "test baby" and hopefully should be fine for a newborn till 1 year old. You can make one size fits all, but i didn't want a bulky bum.
Elastic is Birch swimsuit elastic, Lastin is too tricky too sew with and time consuming.
I used snaps instead of velcro because it doesnt get fluffy from the machine, and the babies apparently can take the nappies of with velcro, and they can come off when they are crawling on the carpet.
The snap machine was $80 ish, but definitely worth it. Snaps aren't too expensive.
Julie just sent me a message saying there was a lot of blue nappies.. and is there anything she should know.. well!! NO! Just so you don't think I'm making for a boy, I also made lots with pink which I might not be able to use if it is a girl.

Oh gawd, you guys make me feel terribly guilty. But I will just say that with the water restrictions we currently have in Melbourne, I feel better that I will not be using as much water.
Julie - hope you are keeping up the BD! I'll be really interested to see your bt results on Saturday. :fingerscrossed:
Heat is bad, isn't it? I stayed back and worked really late last night to make the most of the air-conditioning at work. Luckily we had power at home, so could use the fans - I would have died without them. A lot of people weren't so lucky, like my parents - no air-con, no fans, and their burglar alarm went off for ages cos it goes off if it thinks someone's cut the power - so they were running around for ages trying to work it out!
Morning all,
I've been having problems loggin on, too - seems very slow!
DjF - hope your m/s settles down.
Little Toad - those nappies are a fashion statement! Love them! Are you going to sell them as well as use them for your little one? If so, put me down for some! BTW - my belly looks like yours did at 5 months, and I am only 3 and a bit....
Julie - fingers crossed for you, hope that blood test tells you what you want to hear.
DH and I had a 'business' meeting yesterday - planning etc. The poor dear asked me to provide him with some idea of how long I would work, what hours I thought I was up to etc. I had to laugh, my job isnt' exactly physically hard, and I'm only working school hours now! So sweet. I'll keep working til I can't is the only answer I could really give him. However, hearing him talk to the mortgage broker and insurance broker we have in the office a couple of days a week - I think he's got other plans for my office! Hmmm...
Hope everyone else is well and happy.

Samh.. you may be able to sue your DH for unfair dismisal!
I'm frantically writing a 12 page entry for the M-ortgage i-ndustry e-xcellence a-wards (-'s so this thread doesn't come up in a google search). Can't believe how detailed it is. Thank god for my brilliant literate DP.
It's due in on 29th of Jan, hoping to get it in by Monday.

any of you lovely ladies hiring/hired a doppler? I was thinking of buying one, but hiring is prob better right? I figure i only want it till i start feeling the baby move, and then i dont need it anymore, what do you think?

Thanks Toady, I think I will definitely make some myself. I might by a few and see how they work first. I actually think the plains are the cutest.
Waiting, my DH bought me a doppler for xmas, and I still use it and love it. He got it off Ebay for less than $150 new I think. I don't know if they work much before 12 weeks though, cos the bub snuggles behing your pelvic bone which makes it hard to hear.
Day 18 is good Julie, I am looking forward to hearing the results of your O test this weekend. :fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed:
