I care!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I looooooooooove that song. It is soooo powerful. Nothing better than having that song up full boar in the car screaming away to it. It's my fav Paul Kelly song.
Then the one about Don Bradman. Is that the one you mean KB?
I love Paul Kelly. He sings about Aust with such passion and he is so down to earth. If you ever get a chance to see him live go. It's soooo worth it.

KB, he's a huge cricket fan and wanted to write a song that celebrated Bradman's cricketing life. I'm a HUGE cricket fan so I love the song.
Kaiden'smum, He use to be "Paul Kelly and the colour girls" but then went out on his own. He's an Australian singer who sings about Australia and our way of life. His songs can be folk songs but some are very rockish.
If you listen to the lyrics and relaly think about them they are quite powerful, well I think so anyway, especially "Who makes the gravey". Daggy title but very cool and powerful song, tip though listen to it really loud only makes it better.
My biology teacher was obsessed with Paul Kelly.
It was great to get out of class by finding websites and going "Sir! Look, New Paul Kelly site!"

i've come in late to this thread but had to post to say i love paul kelly. definitely one of my favourite australian songwriters - up there with mark seymour and the finn brothers (yes, i know - they're kiwis).
Love Paul Kelly as well. My favourite is Other People's Houses - took me a while to figure out what was the ABBA riff in it - love the folk story telling in his songs.
Also Love Icehouse for some of the Australian songs - All on Code Blue for the storytelling ones (see Jeff Fenech etc stories), but for the all time guaranteed to make you homesick Aussie song, mine is Great Southern Land - used to great effect in that 'classic' Aussie movie - Young Einstein and always a big feature during Australia Day Fireworks.
Now I am showing my age :p
PS Totally agree with Spencers Mum about Finn brothers and Hunters and Collectors (Mark Seymour for the uninitiated). Just bought the She will Have Her Way CD (Aussie and Kiwi women singing Finn Bros songs). I love singing along to them to DS at bedtime...(Are Better Be Home Soon and or Don't Dream It's Over Lullabies? )[FONT=Arial]
