cyst on ovary

my doctor looked at the US scan and noted a cyst on one of my ovaries but he said it was nothing to worry about and that it's all normal.

Has anyone else had this?

Sorry to butt in July girls - Yep with DD's and this pregnancies. My doctor explained it to me like this - your ovaries look like raspberries with all the lumps at differing sizes (these are the unfertilised ova). Once conception has occured one of these ova may remain on the outside of your ovary and become a cyst. Can be perfectly normal and will normally go away on it's own. They will probably check your ovaries whenever you have a scan to make sure all is okay.

I just got my scan results too and i have a cyst on my left ovary, but Dr said it was nothing to worry about, i trust him.

hey sorry to invade as well :o but i have a small cyst on my right ovary and it hasnt caused me any problems with my pregnancy :) the only problem ive had with it is my periods were irregular for a looonng time and they found the cyst and said thats what was causing it. my periods had started to become regular just as i found out i was preggers.

Hey babe,

I have PCOS - poly cystic ovaries, which means by ovaries are both covered in cysts.
This shouldnt cause a problem with your pregnancy, the main problem it causes is actually ovulating and falling pregnant!
