Dh thinks i'm silly for even worrying bout this but i have just started playing touch footy one night a week after not playing any sport for the last four years, anyways i'm not worried so much about it affecting our chances of conceiving but i'm 10dpo and am worried that if i'am pregnant the extra physical activity may not be good for the baby and therefore i don't really want to play tomorrow night. can exercising too much affect the baby this early? i guess i just need to hear some reassuring stories of mums who kept up thier exercise routine even while they were pregnant!
thanx

I think you should be fine. Some women have played netball unitl unitl 14-15 weeks and netball can be way more physical than touch. Exercise is good, so you should be fine. Just try not to get kicked in the tummy or anything like that.
I was playing indoor netball with all my pregnancies until about 8 weeks (I finished up last week). From what I have heard, so long as you are not playing a full contact sport, it is the overheating that can be an issue. Therefore you need to get drinking water, and not let yourself get too hot.
I actually found that it was easier to fall pregnant the fitter I was!
Once I was pg I did find that I felt so tired, I did not want to play team sport anymore. (Have changed onto stretching, yoga and swimming).

I've just started getting back into exercise as well. I've just done a 3-week boot camp, and am now doing some personal training sessions twice a week. We're a bit pre-TTC for now ... :p
Anyway, I mentioned to the head trainer that I met with that one of my main goals is to lose size/weight and gain fitness, to help my body get through pregnancy and labour (here's hoping!). His advice was that you can continue exercise you've already been doing through your pregnancy, although obviously at various stages you need to alter *what* kind of exercise you're doing. So probably no leg pressing 90kgs at 8 months like I was doing last night ...
Hope this helps a little ...

I went into labour with #2 while exercising.
I'm on my third pregancy, and I have swum all through each previous one, and even moreso this time around, as I've increased the distance I swim since last baby by an extra kilometer, so I now do 3 km. Both babies were born immediately after swimming.
With #2, not only was I swimming, but I was training for latin ballroom dancing exams, which I did at 34 weeks, and latin ballroom is pretty strenuous.
If I didn't exercise while pregnant, I'd be feeling even less able to go about my other daily activities.
