hi girls ....

quick question for you all - probably a stupid one but i'd love to have an answer to it. how many DPO do you all recommend waiting before you do a HPT?

i'm currently on CD22 and i had positive readings on an OPK @ CD12, 13 & 14. negative reading on CD15. cycles usually around 32 days?

i know the bestest way is to wait until you've actually missed AF, but for those of us that are a little impatient - how soon is too soon?

good luck to all the girls testing in december :fingerscrossed:

:wizard: a little more baby dust for us all!

It is such a hard question to answer because there is no hard and fast rule as to when an HPT will show a :bfp:
For example I got my first BFP at 6dpo but some people don't see a positive until well after AF is Due.

So you are roughly around 10-12 dpo now so if you are pregnant then it would be possible to get your BFP now, but I don't want to say that for sure because you could get a BFN and actually be pregnant but be one of these people who don't get BFP until AF is due IYKWIM
I guess all you can do is test if you want to but dont read too much into it if it is a BFN either that or wait the recommended day after AF and Hope for BFP then.

It all comesdown to how much patience you have!
I had none hence why I got my BFP at 6DPO lol!!

i got a BFN at 9DPO and BFP at 12 DPO :)
Good luck :wizard:

Edit - PS If you are impatient (like me) i'd highly recommend the tests off EBay - about $20 for 20. then you can test every day :D

thanks julie & deb - i've bought a "3 pack" of HPT's so i'll perhaps test tomorrow mornin' (yes i am one of the impatient ones). i'll also take a BFN in my stride & test again on the weekend.
congratulations on your BFP's guys - all the best with the next few months, hope i'll be adding smilie faces to my postings real soon!

Bextan - I have heard so many different stories about some women testing early and some women testing late. It really depends on how patient you are.

GOOD LUCK if you decide to test tomorrow morning!

:wizard: For you!

You can test with a 10-20Mui test anywhere from 7dpO really BUT you can never guaruntee a result until after AF is due.

It all comes down to implantation. Implantation can happen generally anywhere from 6-12dpO and it normally takes 2 days for the HCG to rise enough to show up on a HPT... Sooo you can start testing whenever you like, if you get an early BFP thats great, but if you get a BFN then you have to keen testing incase it was just too early...

did that make sence!? :D

Deb - I'm with you! Ebay tests are the way to go for impatient ppl like us,lol.
With so many you can afford to test to your hearts content:-) And they're a reasonable price. I'm waiting for mine to come in the post now ready for testing in a week or so!

good mornin' girls

well i tested this morning (lol) and received what i expected .... :bfn:

i'm ok with it though as i still have opportunity for that to change before AF comes. makes it frustrating when i can't even pinpoint the day i O'd so i could be anywhere from 9-11 dpo.

promised myself i will now leave it until sunday morning and i'll do another test - if that's negative - i'm NOT testing again till AF goes missing in action :fingerscrossed:

i'm still on the quest for an early chrissie present, one that's pre-wrapped, a :bfp:

hope there's a little something :chef: ing for us all this month!

bexstan sorry about your BFN but as you say, you can never give up hope until AF arrives. are you charting? i kind of knew when to test because i had an implantation dip. but i was SUPER impatient! :)

good luck holding out until the weekend!! :wizard:
