When is the "supposed" age for babies to start talking? I mean saying mum and dad and bbaba dadda ect??? DS is 9 months old next week and whilst he squeals deliciously and has a wide range of tones - there are no decipherable words or vowell combos.

When do you start to get worried?

Well my little girl is 7 mths & she says Dadda, yum & bubba but i would'nt worry to much. The lady nextdoor has a 2 year old & she has'nt said a word yet so. if you get to worried take babe to the doc & get it checked out but as you now all baby's do diffrent things at diffrent times.

A speech therapist told me to get worried if a child isn't speaking clearly at 4 years - so you have plenty of time yet!

Ds is 9.5 months old and says Mumumumumumum and Dadadadadad but that's about it. He watches my mouth and enjoys trying to copy. He can now do a munching sound - that's pretty cute. I read somewhere that they can't do two syllables for a while yet.
