Hi ladies
well we are wanting to get re-married in August next year which is only 9 months away....
Anyways just wondering if anyone has ever been to fiji?
Where did you stay?
Is it really as nice as it looks?
How much was it per night?
what is the best time to go?
Lots of questions so if you have anything to say about Fiji then please tell the good the bad and the ugly......
Thanks

Good luck with the vow-renewal:hugs:

We went to Fiji on our honeymoon and loved it. The wet season is our summer period and best to avoid it. Im assuming that being on here you have kids... Fiji is great. We stayed at the Naviti Resort. Basically everything was included in the price to stay there. All you can eat meals, all you can drink (except cocktails) theres a shopping trip and a boat trip included. There was a kids club where they kept the kids entertained during certain hours so you could spend time on your own. You would need to enquire more about this one though as we didnt need the service to know enough. Highly recommended by heaps of people and its great if your on a budget. Our holiday for two including airfares transfers etc was $3600. Hope this helps

We had our honeymoon in Fiji, and we stayed at the Naviti for a while too.It was great, nice food, nice rooms, lots of entertainment, and very friendly people. As missie mack said, all your meals are included.
We also had a cruise around the islands, which is run by Captain Cook cruises, that was pretty good too.
The last few days we stayed at the Sheraton Royal...it was very nice, but pricey, and I really don't think you got much more there than we did at the cheaper resort.
Being almost 5 months pregnant, the only thing I didn't like was the coach trip to and from the airport ....it was very long!
We went the end of september and the weather was beautiful. Also if you don't like crowds,or being harrassed by locals, don't go into town!

thanks guys
our 2 year wedding anniversary is August 30th so we want to re new our vows
It is just an option at the moment as im not sure that many of our family members would be able to make it if we have it over there but hey we might even go just for our honeymoon that would be great

I am actually from fiji and yeah the naviti Resort is very nice and affordable ............... love the Sheraton Royal though.................... Its more pricey because of the location as it is close to the airport and marina and town................. plus 5 star as well..............
The Sonai Sali Island Resort is great too .................. but its on an island so a bit of boat travelling is included..............
best time to go would be after the coup as the prices will decrease and you will get really great bargains..........................lol
August is actually great time to go as it is not too hot and not too cold............. december is bad ........... very humid and muggy.............. couldn't stand that weather...........................
Good luck with everything...............

Fiji is soooooo beautiful. Crystal clear water that is as warm as a bath! And really friendly people.........we didn't have anyone hassle us, even when we went into town.
We stayed at the Shangri-La Fijian Resort  It was sensational and didn't even leave the resort for the first 6 days as you have everything you need there. I think it cost about $380 per night which included a buffet breakfast each. The rooms had just been renovated so they were gorgeous.
We were there in December (when that horrible tsunami happened in the Indian Ocean).........and the weather was fine then although I think the recommendation was to go at other times of the year. If you grab a Fiji brochure from a travel agent it will have all this info in the front.
All the best with your plans.........I'm jealous!

We actually got married at the Sonaisali resort in fiji in June. It was absolutely beautiful. We then stayed at Plantation Island for a week afterwards. I cant remember how much it was per night but we got a package made up through the travel agent and the resorts actually have wedding packages. Fiji is the most beautiful place and the people are brilliant and friendly. DH and i cant wait to go back and we didnt want to leave!

I've had two friends get married in Fiji just this year, and they had the most beautiful weddings i have ever seen, they were both at the Shangri La, they specialise in weddings and have the most gorgeous chapel on a cliff over looking the ocean it's just fantastic! though the shangri la is a little more pricey packages include ur food, accomm, drinks and the wedding i thinkk all up they paid around 3K each, which really for a fabulous wedding and an OS holiday in one that's not a lot!
Good luck

we went to a friends wedding in Fiji a couple of years ago. we stayed at Plantation island resort (where Temptation island was filmed!) and it was just gorgeous. we paid for a package too which incuded pretty much everything.
DH and I got married in Bali this year and i think our wedding was just as nice! a lot more affordable and i think you can have more expensive things because your dollar goes further. Plus it's a much shorter flight. People don't realise there are beautiful parts of Bali and you don't have to go to Kuta!
i have been to Fiji, Thailand, Mauritius and Bali and would go back to Bali (particularly the moutains in ubud) before any of the others in a heartbeat!
good luck with your plans!!
