Toddler seat on prams??

Hi,
Can anyone tell me how old a 17kg baby is? (roughly!) Sounds strange I know but we are looking at prams that have toddler seats that hold upto 17kg or 20kg etc and I have no idea how old a child this refers to. I figure it is better to buy everything together pram/basinette/toddler seat etc so when I need the toddler seat I don't find it no longer exsists but if I have to have 2 kids in two years just to use the toddler seat this might not be the way to go afterall!:xmas:

DS is 4 and weighs 16 kilos. but he is pretty skinny. DD is 2 and weighs 11 kilos.

its really too hard to tell what age for 17kg

my ds is 4 and only 13.5kg yet DD is only 17 months and 12kg+

DSS is 5 and about 20kg

they're all very different, I'd go with one that holds 20kg just to be safe though as most actually only hold 15kg which can be reached very fast by a chubby toddler :)

My DS#2 is 18 months old and weighs about 15kg if this helps.

all children are different. my DS is actually a little tall and heavy for his age. he is just over 11 months and is 11.5 kgs and 81 cms tall.

DD is 22months & 12kg, but my nephew is 3 1/2 and weighs 15kg, and a friends 3 1/2yo weighs 18kg! You just can't tell easily.

DD1 is 3.5 yrs and is only about 16-17kgs now! :DShe can just fit into the toddler seat on our pram....it carries her fine, she just doesn't like it any more....

my nephew is 5.5yrs hes 19kg. my dd is 2.5yrs and shes 13kg

I looked at a few prams with toddler seats when I was preg with DD. DS was around 14kg (still is I think), and he didn't fit very well into any of the seats...the only one we found that he was comfortable in was the Phil & Teds but I don't like 3 wheel prams. He had trouble getting his legs into all the others and had to turn on a strange angle, he does when he sits in a shopping trolley too. He's not particularly tall, he is only a little over 100cm tall.

My DD1 was about 17kgs at 2.3yrs and i looked at prams with toddlerseats for her and found the only one she could fit in and hold her weight back then and into the future was the Phil and teds. She is now 4 and has steady out in the weight area as they do as they get taller, she is now about 21kgs and still goes in the pram when her legs get tired. The weight limit for the toddlerseat on the phil and teds is 25kgs on the front and 15kgs when on the back.
