Hello,

I just found out that I'm pregnant and I'm investigating hospitals I might use. The Mater at Crows Nest has been suggested - has anybody out there used them? Was your experience there a good one?
Thanks :)

Had both my girls there and am booked for my third. I have had great experiences both times. The midwives were fantastic, rooms comfortable, classes great. Love it love it love it!

As far as I am aware you have to be a private patient...It is a private hospital or maybe I am totally wrong? Someone who has been there please correct me if I am wrong.

I am booked into Mater Crows Nest, have been on a tour of the Delivery/Maternity wards, nice delivery suites and post-natel rooms.

I think if you click on the a-z topics on this site that it brings up maternity hospitals and it says mater is public

i could be wrong though

I had looked at that directory a few weeks back and noticed that is said both private and public for Mater at Crows Nest, which I thought was odd as far as I was aware it is a private hospital, but also noticed it said private and public for a couple of other hospitals that I know are private only.. I just looked over the Mater website and after some searching found that it is private, has been since it re-opened on new site in 1991.

But.. If you want to know for sure if it is private I think the best way of be 100% is calling the Mater

Any Mums out there who have been to Mater Crows Nest would love to hear about your experience

The Mater in Sydney is completely private from my understanding. I know that maternity services are definately completely private, requiring a private OB to provide you with care. The Mater in Brisbane is a combination of both public/private.
