View Full Version : Gentle Birth Method
Hi there,
I'm a long way off before I have to start thinking about pushing etc, but am considering buying a book called 'Gentle Birth Method', by Dr Gowri Motha and Karen Swan MacLeod.
I've read about it in 'Your Pregnancy' magazine, and just wondering if anyone's read it??
Would you recommend it?
Thanks! Just looking for somewhere to start!

Hi,
I have read the book, it is really good, but hard to follow perhaps if you are not in the UK. I found that a lot of the contact and supplier information along with the recommended practitioners are UK based and therefore yu have to find your own way with a lot of things. Also the whole thing is based on Ayurvedic (sp) medicine so you are instructed to take quite a few natural supplements along with Reiki and that sort of thing. I found that the basic principles are very good and useful but found the diets hard to follow (not allowed sugar, juice, chocolate or any convenience food really) If you have good dicipline then this may be the book for you, but if you want a more relaxed aproach to gentle birth, then there are plenty of other books that guide you through a gentle and natural birth.
Good luck with your pregnancy, I hope this has helped a bit
