New Years Eve

Hi all,

just curiousity really lol what is everyone doing for NYE? For me NYE hasnt really been a big thing for me, used to get up at midnight and bang the pots and pans with my nana up and down the street to warn off bad spirits :laughing: so maybe will start that tradition with dd but since she will only be 9 and a half months old I think we may stay home and have a bbq or something like that. Dh may also be working so that will obviously effect what we do.

Plus NYE has never worked out well for me no matter the best laid plans. Last year pretty much sealed the deal with me thinking a nice family get together would be nice. This resulted in one of my sisters ( yanno the crazy one ) screaming frothing at the mouth & abusing DP.
I have now decided i should hibernate for NYE !

last year we went to bed at about 12.05am, :sleeping: after a really crappy movie. this year will be the same i guess.

Last year I was pregnant and sleepy. As I recall, I had a nap, woke up, went down to Darling Harbour, watched the fireworks, wondered at the fact that this would probably be the last NYE we spent out together in a few years (as loud noises + baby = me pulling my hair out) came home and went back to sleep :D

This year ... dunno. Probably spend most of it trying to get my monster to sleep and then flake out myself.

I think we'll still be up at South West Rocks visiting my MIL as DH has that whole week off. New years has never been a huge thing for me though. Wonder if any bubhubbers are up that way....

I normally have a great night in with a young couple. Thy don't like the city (the crowds and such) so they have come over for drinks and games and a hellishly big meal. THis year however being in my parents house I wonder if I bother or not ... however it would be great to have people over as I have a pool out back and the sky (if not cloudy is FULL of stars .. .seriously you can see a definate line to the Milky Way .... LOL

We have a huge party, BBQ, disco, Kareoke type **** up!!!:laughing: theh watch the fireworks from the balcony at midnight, and then.............drink some more!!!!:laughing:

I usually party pretty hard on NYE, last few years have been a bit quiet - we had big party with kids invited last year as we had a good vantage point of the firewroks. THis year we will be goign to a friends place on the harbour with Maiky...

NEXT YEAR Mum is babysitting and I am going OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
