Hey everyone...

Last bub I used terry flats (I didn't know MCN's existed!) but this time I use MCN's... so I have about 40 or so of the things and I have no idea what to use them for!

I occasionally use them to catch baby vomit etc... but I have 40 of them! There must be something I can use them for?

What does everyone else do with terry flats they don't use?

Thanks
xx

maybe you could make some fitteds with them?

good thread! Can i fold them and use them as inserts in my pockets? would that work or not be so efficient?

I use a couple as inserts for my girls' fuzzi buns.

The rest I use as cleaning cloths. Great dusting cloths (wet) and also for cleaning glass!!!

PS: sorry I couldn't think of anything more exciting to use them for!!:o

I know your pain phineas:D . I used terry for dd1 and for 9 mths with dd2 until I got MCN. I have about 60:eek: . I use them as tea towels, for when dd2 wees on the floor and other spills.

Jate&Abby - I'm pretty sure you can use them as stuffers. I guess you'd just have to experiment with comparing how absorbant they are compared to what you already use.

I only have 8 but still use em as change mat and as nappies. but if you have that many! You could sew fitteds from them, wipes stuffers etc.

Yep you certainly can !!!!

We do that here & as does RB. I also have some Eenees so my 60 get a good work out every week.
As Seek said they are also great to have when its nappy free time !!!!

Cut them up into 1/4 sew around teh edges and you have cloth wipes. They work great on pooy bottoms and are the perfect size.

My DH uses them also to dry the car after washing it and polishing it as well.

We do that here & as does RB.

I sure do, in Eenees & GK  That & we just use them as flat nappies.

You chase them  Try a toddler who likes nappy free time

Does anyone have a pattern for making fitteds with flats?

I mostly use mine on the change table & it gets changed regulary as Ella has a tendancy to mess it at least once a day.

Other than that they sit in the cupboard. :o I only have 24 so its not as bad....

I only have 12... well less now as I have been sewing some to use as stuffers.
I sew 3 layers of microfibre surrounded by 2-3 layers of terry flat. Works great and lasts for about 3 hrs.

I sewed mine up as cloth wipes and fitteds. The fitteds work great! I used a layer of terry and a layer of flanellette.

I don't use MCN, but I cut up the really thin ones and use them for cleaning rags, dishcloths, face cloths. If I run out of disposables for night time, I will fold a couple up and use them to make his nappies more absorbant for night time.

I like the sidesnapping fitted on that site - thankyou RB. I wonder if it would be hard. I guess if I had a ton of terries it would be good practice

Ooh I thought of another use, I have about 3 around the bath so Cobey can lay on them without slipping, and they go on the back of his bath seat so it's more comfortable and also i fold one up like a pillow so his ears aren't underwater :D

I cut mine up, and some flannellette baby wraps I no longer needed, sewed them together and use them as baby wipes :)

Ohh! GREAT idea with the flannel wraps MummyCharmzy! Was going to donate a heap, but I think I'll do that instead!

Other than though I just use them for cleaning rags - great in the shower recess! :D

BRILLIANT website RB! It actually looks easier enough for even me to do, and I suck at sewing! Straight lines are difficult too y'know ;) Cheers!
