Morning all,

Ok this may sound like a silly question.............last night I had a nice hot radox bath after I had been out all day and it was so relaxing. I was in there for about half an hour. Anyway I was reading my "Pregnancy Bible" when going to be last night and it said not to have a spa bath or sauna whilst under 12 weeks pregnant because if your body temp gets above 38.9 degrees it can increase your chance of a m/c.

Of course, being the worrier that I am, I'm thinking "oh no what have I done".

When I saw my GP on Thursday, he didnt mention anything that I could or couldn't do. All he said was to do gentle exercise and take it easy. That was it. Surely if it's a major concern for newly pregnant ladies, he would have mentioned it? does anyone know?

Or am I just being silly........

I think it will be fine, i nterpret that as if the bath was so hot you got hot/light headed then it would be a little to hot for a pregnant woman.

My honeymoon was when i was 12 weeks pregnant and i got in the spa, i just got out when i felt hot- you know if you are too hot, your body lets you know.

So what i am trying to say was if you felt fine having your bath then chances are you are fine. Our bodies guide us subconsciously when we are pregnant (this is my opinion).

Thanks Jamb,

I know I sound like a goose but at this early stage, you want to make sure you are doing everything right!

We had a spa in our old house and i asked the doc the same thing because friends kept telling me i couldnt use it..so here is how it went...

me: they say i cant use a spa
doc: why not?
me: i dont know..chemicals maybe?
doc: are you drinking the water?
me:...no..maybe the jets could do damage?
doc: are you sitting on them?
me:..uhh no
doc: well tell your friends they dont have medical degrees and if they have any questions come see me

lol

as longs as the baths are not too hot it should be fine.

Your doctor sounds great! I wish mine was that entertaining, hehe!

I did read that very hot baths are bad for the baby, but I have to agree that your body lets you know when you're too hot, and you'll be subconsciously looking after the baby :)
