Hi there

I'm looking for advice regarding whether to go for a twin stroller or get a toddler seat... there will be a 17 month gap between my kids and I wonder if after 3-4 months Hannah will want to be walking beside the pram more than in it? She's a pretty confident walker now at 14 months and is already starting to get whingy if she's in the pram too long.

I guess I'm just unsure whether to spend the money on a twin stroller if it will only get used for a couple of months, but as I don't know much about toddler seats I wonder how much support/comfort they provide for the older child.

Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated...

Cheers

Hi Fifiamour

My girls are 15 months apart in age and I went for a Graco stretch limo style of pram for them which I found great. It is really maneourable (sp) and easy to set up and down. It weighs about 15 kg, so it is a bit on the heavy side but it was one of the lighter stretch limos. I personally don't like side by side prams except for twins maybe. They just don't fit through enough spaces for my liking.

My girls are now 16 months and 2.5 and we still use the pram all the time. I like to keep them contained for shopping as you wouldn't want them to wander away or give anyone the opportunity to grab them if you are occupied.

The good thing about the stretch limo is heaps of room to put the shopping in :D .

If you don't think you will use a pram for very long, you could put your bub in a front carrier or sling then you will have free hands to push a pram if you need to or chase a runaway toddler  . I did this sometimes when my dd was a newborn. Also you try hiring a stretch limo to see if it works for you then if you like it, buy one second hand.

Easterlily :)

I have a toddler seat and found it great. When the baby was big enough to sit up I then swapped them over and sat the older child in the back and the baby at the front. We used this pram heaps. Until they were about 4 and two then I just took the toddler seat off.
