Hi,

Just wondering if it's likely that a second baby would be similar to the first in settling/sleeping etc???

I am pregnant with No. 2 and I had a hard time with Bubby 1 due to reflux/colic and he had a rough 4 months or so.

Has anyone experienced the other way around where baby No. 2 was better settled or didn't have reflux when Baby No. 1 did? Or am I doomed (baby doomed really not me) to have an unsettled refluxy baby?

Silly questions maybe, just haven't known many people with similar circumstances.

Thanks.

My two are very different :). So don't stress you could have a perfect baby this time :D

Yes I am curious and hoping things will be different this time, was Xavier was a colicy baby and didnt sleep through the night till he turned one (with the odd exception where he'd sleep through and get my hopes up)!!
Xavier is also a really active child and never stops, he reached his physical milestones very early and now is very very difficult to disicpline, nothing seems to work.
So I am wondering if my next one will be the same or the opposite!! I guess only time will tell!!

I dont have 2 yet but my mum always compares me as a baby to my lil bro.

I never slept and was a horror to settle although my bro would fall asleep at the same time every day no matter where he was.

Mine are the other way around -
DD was a perfect sleeper from birth, no problems with colic or reflux.
DS is a pretty good sleeper, but it looks like he has reflux.
Mine are fairly different temperaments as well, I don't think anyone really has two bubs that are the same ;)

DS is the perfect bub, sleeps throught the night since about 9 weeks and eats really well. Had a little bit of a rough trot up to 9 weeks with colic but after that hes been fine.

:fingerscrossed: the next bub is as good a sleeper and eater. I have had full nights sleep since he was 9 weeks old:D

DD1 was a "perfect" baby according to all my relative and friends who had been there and done that. That was until DD2 came along - she is easier in every way!!

They are all different, the only thing that changes is Mummy's experience

I had DS who was perfect sleeper, feeder and settling wise too

I had DD who was a terrible sleeper, feeder and had bad reflux and cried for 6 months straight!

You just never know, so far the two i have had were chalk and cheese!

Thank you for the replies, I am going to stay positive and obviously be much more relaxed this time around....

You should too Lil X Man, I am sure we will both be blessed with beautiful bubbies....at least we will handle the rough times a little easier as we've been there before. And this time we have a 'little helper' with us (our DS's) he,he.
