with 2 under 2 still in nappies we go through lots of nappies and using disposables although convient it fills the bin up quickly  and is also costly. the trouble is my ds1 has a tiny waist but chunky legs and a big bum so he wears walker size huggies and ds2 is too big for newborn but fits into infant huggies but they dont fit well and often leak in the leg area. i need to find covers that will fit them.ds1 is under 11kgs he is approx 10.79kgs possibley more. and ds2 is about 4 kgs. i am looking to use the flat ones coz i dont think i will find a fitted that will fit either perfectly.

If you want to use flat terry's you could try buying a peapod nappy. This is a pocket nappy this way you could see what it is like using a pocket nappy and if you dont like it you could then try it as a cover over your terrys. They are under $20 including the insert and bag.
I am currently using a peapod as a cover over a terry with a snappi.
Otherwise if you are handy with a sewing machine make your own cover to fit your children exactly or customise your own nappy.

my baby beehinds fit savannah nicely when she was 4+kg and they fit bella who is about 12kg now and covers are fairly easy I've found... tots bots are great for over bb's ive found. Fitting wise, baby beehind bamboo's are a bit smaller fitting than the hemp so might be better off trying them.
Peapods are a good idea as suggested above also!
What im finding with two in nappies also is that pockets are much easier than fitted with covers, so much less work getting them on and off each time.. tho I prefer the absorbancy of a fitted over night.
Flats are good but just aren't absorbant enough so you'll be doing more nappy changes imo! And with 2 in full time nappies you want to cut that down lol I used flats when bella was a bub but one is very different to two!
An idea if you are using flats to make thme absorb a bit more is to put a hemp booster in with it as well :D

thanks guys for the suggestions.
does anyone know where i can buy some sutiable ones online? or get patterns to make them?
Jess, www.ozclothnappies.org is a fabulous resource. It talks about making your own as well as listing some businesses.
also, we have a non commercial Victorian Yahoo! group for networking with other cloth nappy users. It's just growing in size, but you are welcome to join! I know there is a good cloth contingent down your way and they would be happy to meet with you!

With two children in nappies and you are planning on using flat terries anyway....I'd suggest getting some snappiable Tots Bots size 2. They are probably one of the bulkier fitted nappies around but still trimmer than terry flats, and they are much better at containment and more absorbant than a plain flat. You can also boost them with a hemp or bamboo booster for extra absorbancy without it being too bulky.
For covers, I'd go with either Motherease PUL or Bummis super whisper wrap (also PUL) because they are so trim and fast to dry after washing. They do cost more than supermarket cheapies but I believe the investment is worth it because they will last a lot longer. I didn't recommend the Tots PUL covers because they have a lycra binding which can wick and aren't as suitable to go over terry flats in the meantime. I personally love wool but understand it's not for everyone.
That is a good point about using cloth - the rubbish in our bin has been reduced.
We use fitteds. My bub is skinny waisted but with average chubby thighs. Using fitteds and wool covers we have less leaks and saggy butts than with a disposable.
