For the past 3 days ive been leaking quite considerably from my nipples - just colostrum as far as i can tell - but its making things very uncomfortable. :(
I have to wear a bra all the time with breast pads - as when i take of my bra the weight makes my nipples flood -
Does anyone know of a way that i can ease this or a way to sort of stop it - ill talk to mymidwife tomorrow. It's to the point where I have to wash the bedlinen everyday as when i wake up i have giant patches on the sheets. *sighs*
Help anyone ?? lol

Could you clarify a little, are you pregnant, and if so, how far along?
Or have you just had your baby?

I had exactly the same problem as you but it started at 12 weeks. I got really worried as I thought that it wasn't supposed to happen until really late in pregnancy. I asked what I could do about it too and they said nothing. I just got some really comfy maternity bras and had to wear them with breastpads most of the time. At night I just wore a singlet top and popped folded washers down the front. After my DS was born this wasn't enough and I wore bras 24 7 for about 6 months. I am 12.5 weeks preg with my second now and so far no leakage :D , touch wood!!!
It is a real pain but at least you know your bb are doing what they're supposed to. ;)

I too had the same problem from early on in pregnancy. I wasn't real keen on wearing maternity bras at that stage so I got some Bond's push-up bras made of cotton. There was enough padding in them to soak up the problem and I could also put a nursing pad in there too when it was a really leaky day!

Thats good. Breasts pads will make you feel a bit more human now. Im sorry that we couldnt give you more advice on leaking boobs. Unfortunately its theyre not like a tap that you can turn off. Boy imagine how great that it would be if you could!! :p

With my daughter my breasts started leaking at 6 weeks. It was my first clue that I might be pregnant. I leaked the whole way through pregnancy and then afterwards had enough milk to feed several small nations, so I suppose in a way it was good. I wore singlets with the shelf bra in them and breast pads and at night I just slept on a towel. Don't wear white, the colostrum stains after a while. I just couldn't stand wearing bras most of the time, the pressure was too much.

I am 8 weeks pregnant again at the moment and and kind of wondering why the leaking hasn't started yet. Maybe it's just because they got such a good work out last time that they don't need to explode so early again?

Good luck with it! :)

Nga Waiata is my great grandmothers name that will be passed down to my lil girl :p

Just wondering if it was normal to start leaking earlier,

I have noticed that i started leaking about a week ago - at 15 weeks pregnant. got my 16 week checkup tomorrow anyway, but was jsut curious cause everywhere i have read say that it shouldnt start till about 17-18 weeks...

DIANNEKB - Sorry if i confused you :o I was just being silly just ignore me from now on.
I talked to my midwife about this when i was pregnant as not only did i not leak but i never got bigger boobs i felt ripped off  anyways & she said not to get so stressed just yet the only way you will know if you can or cant is after bubs is born & anyways it pretty much always works so dont worry ! Talk to JanetF if you have any worries she is the b/f master :D

Hey Ally,

Hey that's cool ...... I was actually thinking it before I even read your post ... but as you say you will only know once bubs is out (which I hope comes sooner rather than later) but thanks for the reply....
