I thought i would let ya know.
I took my 7.5 month old down to garden city the other day to get his photo taken with santa.... Like most babies they scream at the sight of a big man wearing a funny red suit. My ds didnt cry at all. He was so intrigued at this man, laughing at him and everything... I was so proud of my bub... and the pics turned out terrific... How are your babies coping with meeting santa for the first time?

My DD1 was 5 months when she first met santa and she wasnt at all fazed by him. DD2 hasnt met him yet mainly because we have avoided the malls unless absolutely necessary.
My little sister however was 3 and she freaked out which I found amusing because apart from the red suit he looks very much like her dad. I told mum my thoughts and she told on me

Last Christmas EJ had her pic taken with Santa at 3wks so didnt really have any reaction (she was asleep lol). This year she sat on his lap but wasnt overly happy though didnt cry till after about 10 mins of us trying to make her smile for the pic - She was more intrigued by the lights on the Christmas tree beside him

Matthew was 6mths old the first time he saw Santa, but he was asleep at the time so technically didn't "see" him, lol.
He was 18mths the second time and loved him.
This year.....well Santa wont be at the shops till at least next weekend, so I have no idea how he will react. He loves looking at him in photos, books and on tv, so I'm hoping all goes well.

I didnt vote because:

DS met santa for the first time for his second christmas (spent his first christmas in hospital in SCN so santa never came) and wasnt phased, then the 3rd christmas didn't really like santa too much but was okay

DD first met santa aged 5 months and was a bit unsure but had her big brothers there so was fine... this year screamed hysterically any time she was within a metre of him

DD2 first met santa aged 5 months (just the other day) and was fine... next year I doubt will go down so well lol

last year my ds was screaming, but this year he is fine, and my dd is screaming. so i figure that next year both ds and dd will be fine, and d? due in may will be screaming. i hope not tho. i really want a good santa photo eventually.

my DS first xmas he was 6mths old and wasn't fazed by santa at all, the following year however he was 18mths and boy did he not like santa, it took 4 santas before we could get a pic that year, this year DS is comming up 2 and a half and is really getting into santa, I don't think he will have a prob this year, when ever we see santa in the mall he wants to say hi

First Xmas we didn't take her (just never got round to it, she was 2 months) last year she screamed so I didn't bother getting a photo done, and this time I took her last week she didn't scream but she was still a little unsure so I sat with next to Santa and held her on my lap, she waved goodbye to him though which isn't bad and she got a present off him too. We'll see how we go next year with the other baby (about 7 months by then) and Hayley who'll be 3

Hey
Ive been taking the photographs of kids with santa for the last 3 years :) in the myer centre at most brisbane stores!
we have had all sorts of reactions to santa! The age where the kids are the most frightened is between 18 months to 3 or 4 yrs where they are just not too sure about him. Well no one else looks like him do they? We teach our kids about stranger danger then all of a sudden a few weeks prior to xmas its like "here ya go bubba sit on this mans lap and smile!!" ;)
my lil one was 7 months old the 1st time she saw santa and played with him on the red carpet for a while since it was a quiet time for him and he was bored. I havent taken her to see him yet this year ...but im keen to find out what she'll say, or even do!! I cant believe ive been so slack with taking her in to meet the ppl i work with. hahaha

:xmas: He just loves the big guy in the red suit (talks about him non stop too)

Last year DD was 10 months old, the first time she saw Santa, and she happily sat on his knee for a photo.
Today we walked past him and she waved to him,so I think she'll be ok for photos this year too...I hope!:fingerscrossed:

Ruby met a Santa for the first time today. She wasn't fazed but didn't get too close. She pretty much grabbed her present, said thanks and left. She later told us she didn't like him.

I took DD to garden city too! It was last weekend and she was great laughing at santa and pulling his beard. He was a really good santa too, talking to her and playing etc.
