cot/bed

Hi everyone!

I am interested in getting dd a cot that converts into a bed but am not sure what brand to buy how much it should cost yada yada yada really have done no research on it thought i'd come and rack everyone's brain first.

Abby is now standing on her own and crawling and every morning i go in and she's standing up in her cot holding onto the rails. I want to keep her in there for a while longer but i am petrified of her climbing up the rails and falling out i figure if its closer to the ground less far to fall less likely to cause injury

So any advice on which one to get would be brilliant!

I have a Boori brand cot which converts into a toddler bed. You take the cot sides off and put safety rails for the toddler bed. The Boori website would have pics. Theyre pricey though, maybe $800 or $900. My brother bought mine:smiliedance:

On ebay and in selected baby stores you can get a sleigh cot that looks much like a boori that also converts to a toddler bed but is only $399 - $425 depending on where u buy it, there are cheaper options out there as well. Ebay has some for around $150 brand new that convert. Just need to look around and decide what type you're after exactly and call up a few baby shops for prices :D

Personally I would just get a little bed, you can get them from IKEA for a fair price I think they were like $300 includes matress.......

there are really cute ones in toys r us princess ones onsale for $79. Do you think i should wait until she can actually walk? im just so paranoid of her climbing out!

We just got a 2nd hand single bed for Em when she moved out of the cot. I just got my Dad to cut the legs shorter so it is closer to the ground. I would still keep her in the cot until she is walking at least.

I've seen those, they have CARS ones too, they look great but I do think she is quite a bit too young for it at the moment if you're worried about her falling out of the cot you could put another mattress up next to it, just a cheap foam one would do the trick. :)
