I got my ragdoll x siamese for xmas last year and DD was 6 months old.
It was so good. Nothing went wrong. The cat never tried to climb in her cot.
Now that DD is 18 months old its a different story. She is forever harassing him and pulling his tail and I cant stop her from doing it.
The cat gets a bit mad at the time, but loves her so much he sleeps with her on her bed everynight and under the doona too.
To stop your baby going into the kitty litter, put up a baby barrier on the door where the room is going to house the litter. Thats what we did and never had a problem. And now if she goes near his kitty litter I say "no thats pippi's and its dangerous" and she backs away from it.
I dont think that it would be a problem at all.
yay i think it would be ok but just wanted to check. your dd didnt try to get into the cat toys or litter did she???

all kids do. mine are 2 and 4 and get into the litter, steal his toys, chase him everywhere, try to pull his tail etc etc.

I had a fully grown cat when Matthew was born. The cat was outdoors through the day and in at night. Kitty litter was in the laundry so Matthew couldn't get it.
When we moved house, cat became a full time outdoor cat, so I ditched the kitty litter.
He came inside sometimes....Matthew would get a bit rough, but it only took 3-4 scratches for him to learn to be gentle.

I am due in May and I have just got a kitten who is completely indoors he is a devon rex, he doesn't shed hair at all. He is the most fantastic pet I have ever had and it is my first cat. I have already started not letting him on our bed... although it is not going completly to plan:laughing: . I think he will be fine when there is a bub in the house, he is such a laid back cat, as I know ragdolls are so as long as you choose the right breed I think everything should be fine. Ohh and the breeder I got my kitten from suggested a boy as they are more laid back.
Ohh and remember for all the preggie mummies no cleaning the litter tray... that is the partners job!
