Hi all

It feels like I have 3 babies to look after.

VENT ALERT

Does anyone else's DH only take the baby when you ask them? DH only looks after Alex when I ask him and never volunteers to go to him. He's still claiming his hearing is impaired from one scream session and if I ask him to rock Alex whilst he's crying he (unbelievable but true) sits in the rocking chair sort of disassociatingly rocking with a finger in his ear!!! ie no interest in Alex's needs and not patting him which is what sends him off to sleep. Grrrr  Hence every time Alex cries I go as I can't stand seeing DH treat him like that and I always end up with him and DH is being a big baby himself I think. MEN!! :D YOu have to laugh or else you cry.

Also the other reason I never get on here, especially at weekends, is because he plays these stupid civilisation games and when I ask him to help he looks at me like I"m asking a big favour but these are his kids too.

Just glad to get this off my chest here as I don't really have anyone here to talk to about it as they're all his family. Hopefully will be able to do personals again soon.

That sucks Gail!

My DP used to be like that...it used to annoy the **** out of me...

I have come to the realisation that, because men have parts of their brains missing, we have to tell them everything, literally spell it out. Its the only way!

I really dont understand how they can treat their kids this way. Can you be straight with him and tell him how his behaviour makes you feel? Worked for me

Good Luck :hugs:

Mine is the same, take heart the older they have gottne the more interest he has taken with them. I just take the baby now every where I go as he asks it why it's crying??? Dher!!!!
I am sick at the moment but it hasn't changed I too have to ask cause he can't think for himself.
I have learnt to live with it. I want another baby too I must have rocks in my head.

Yeah I always get - why's he crying and my asnwer is usually the same - either he's hungry, windy, or tired. But I watched that Look Who's Talking last night with the baby language and I'm starting to pick up on that. He had 2 hours this evening amusing himself by doing almost a full circle onthe playmat and cooing and NO CRYING!!

Yep.

It gets a bit wearing when you have to say "I'm just going to the loo, will you keep an ear out for him?" EVERY SINGLE SODDING TIME!

He just sort of assumes that if the baby is crying and I'm not in the same room as him, I must be in there with the baby.

Yep I'm with you there!!!

No real improvement yet Rubyredlips. It's just that I miss time with my DD by spending all of it with DS IYKWIM. He's still not in a routine and has even stopped sleeping thru the night to so I'm  most days - not as bad as feeding at night but he grizzles and wakes every couple of hours and in the end I get him in with me, bad habit I know. Jess had a routine and sleeping thru from 8 weeks!! I'm starting him on solids at 16 weeks (in 10 days) so maybe that will help. As for DH :banghead: and his mum says he's jsut like his dad was!!

Gail - you're an August mum! Why aren't you in the August mums thread with the rest of us?!

Your son is 4 days younger than mine :)

Well, my due date was 17th September, but then I watched Pierce Brosnan which gave me contractions and Alex arrived at 37 weeks!!
