Does anyone know if there's any of these on in Ipswich (Reading or BCC)? Even Indro? Noticed an ad at Pacific Fair recently and thought it might be an okay idea and I've not been to the movies for SO long...

Has anyone been? Would it be an nightmare with a 1 yo? Or is it everyone else's kiddies that drive you round the bend??

BCC Cinemas have screamer sessions on Wednesdays. I took Sarah to see "The Prestige" yesterday

They have them at Indooroopilly on Wednesdays at 10.30am, but be careful as they stop and start them from time to time. There was definitely one on this week (The Prestige), but I think last week there wasn't one. The Palace Centro has them Thursdays at 11am and you get a free morning tea as well. I think both of these stop in the school holidays. Indooroopilly does for sure.

They have them at 10.30, wednesday mornings in most BCC cinemas, they also cost $8.50 :D

We've been to a few at Indro, one at Chermside, I prefer Chermie, there's a lucky door prize, they don't shut off the lights, only dim, it's not too loud.

Don't worry about your tear-away tot.... you actually don't hear any bubs cry... it's like watching a movie at home really.

There young fellas came into the Prestige yesterday and looked around, then commented that it was "dodgy" LOL and sat at the front.. I guess they didn't read the session details.

It annoys me that they stop on school holidays - I'm going back to work and the school holidays will be the only days I'll be able to catch a movie..!! Grrr!

I was at Indro yesterday at Babes in Arms and couldn't believe how bl$%^y loud it was:eek: I kept having to cover the boy's ears to get him to sleep. Luckily he slept through the whole thing, even though they turned the lights off. By the way, does anyone know what happens at the end of The Prestige? Great movie but definately a head spinner:confused:

Redbank Plaza has them too, a bit closer to Ipswich for you :) Not sure of times though.

Chermside is certainly better than Garden City. They welcome you, point out the facilities, offer to heat baby food/bottles for you and the lights are kept on dim so you can find stuff in your bags etc.

It was just a regular session at GC.

I really, really wish they'd turn the sound down too, just a little bit. It doesn't need to be ear splitting to be enjoyable!

This is a great site for when you've missed a movie you really wanted to see, or just want to know what all the fuss is about and don't really want to watch it.

Or you missed the end and want to know how it all turned out :)

all the details are on the websites for the cinemas. as someone else said they do stop over the holidays. I am yet to take my son (he is 1), and i dont think i will for a while either. He scares easily so i think it would be disasterous for me to take him.
But it all depends on the child and how desperately you want to see the movie
But if you think your child could handle the noise (and not getting into TOO much mischief) then i say GO FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!

anyhoo heres the BCC website:

im not sure of the other cinemas websites but just google them!

just gotta add the prestige was a GREAT movie!!! but i am glad i saw it without ds, i think he would have definetely spoiled it for me

Thanks all...one of the things I miss the most from pre-baby life was being able to go to the movies! I don't have any proper babysitters and my mum works so she's not that happy for me to leave my wee girl with her just so I can go see a film......have such cravings for it! I think the last thing I saw was Lord of the Rings!!!!!!! :(

So will have to try out the Babes in Arms session. Reading seem to have them every Wednesday but (damn timing!) everybody shuts them down over the holidays!!!
