No feeling surrounding scar

So, it's been over 16 months since I had DD, and had my c-sec... but I STILL don't have feeling around my scar.

It's mostly just above my scar that i can't feel anything... it's awful knowing you're being touched by can't feel it. It's just such a gross feeling.

Anyway, am I the only one?

Also - does anyone know WHY this might be the case?

I had no problems after my c-sec... it's just lost feeling about for about 2-3cm above my scar.

sorry, to hear that. with me the same, it started after my 1.cs (nearly 10 years ago) and i had my last last year (3 all together) still numb- no feeling.
i, personally, don´t think i will ever get feeling back there....:no:

Nah, it's normal, like Emmy said, they cut the nerves... I don't have any feelings around my scar either, and it's been almost 17 months.

Same here, no feeling for about 4/5 cms above scar and its been just over 5 months.

All normal. I had my first c/s with DS nearly 6 years ago and it was numb still when I had my second c/s nearly 4 months ago.

as an aside, my mum had a hysterectomy over 20 years ago and hers is still numb too.

Glad to see I'm not a freak.

I do hate it though - the no feeling makes it feel so HORRIBLE.

I'm VERY uncomfortable with my scar (just thinking about it makes me want to throw up...not because I hate scars, just because thinking that it resulted from me having surgery makes me feel sick)... and I don't like anyone to touch ANYWHERE near it (including myself). Having that lack of feeling near it makes me feel even more ill about it...

No SassyMummy, you're not a freak!! I too have alot of numbness around my scar, in fact there's a whole area, probably about the size of an a4 sheet of paper, that has no feeling at all. I guess I got quite alot of nerve damage compared to others.

I too have issues with my scar, same as you, not that I'm icky about scars, just 'cos of how it came about. If DP touches me anywhere near it I jump, it's uncontrollable. And yeah, touching it and not feeling anything grosses me out big-time. You're not alone!!

I've still got a bit of numbness a few centimetres above my scar & I hate it when anyone touches me there. DF brushes against my scar sometimes too & I can't stand it. I'm glad there's more people like this too. :hugs: Oh yeah my c/s was 22 months ago.

Me too! It's horrible isn't it! It really bothers me.....still numb over 2.5yrs on :(

I got the feeling back on mine after about 14 months. Its so icky isnt it!

I am the same! I hate DH touching it. :no: Whenever he does I squirm out the way.
I am always paranoid about it, even though it was 10 mths ago, but if I stretch up or something I have to check it to make sure it hasn't burst open, which I know is probably ridiculous but I am always aware of it, if you know what I mean...

...and it's still numb too;)
