Well as you some of you clothies may know i didn't have a very good run with Bamboo BB's first time round so i sold them

anyhoo, now that i have woolies i chanced it and ordered some more. Well i am happy to say that i now have succeeded :smiliedance: They are working finally. I put Dakota in one last night with the two snap ins and an extra BB's hemp booster teamed with a wool soaker and she woke up this morning dry as a bone :yelclap:

My question is to those that are using the Bamboo BB's.. what are you putting in them for over night usage and day usage ? one snap in or two ? extra boosters ? what do you do with the extra long snap in.. fold the extra long bit hanging towards or against your childs butt ?

I really don't want to over stuff too much.. so i thought i better ask what you guys do with them.

Thanks in advance :)

Well you know I love them KarniFool!!

I tend to use my BBB at night, although sometimes during the day (like right now!).
At night I use both snap ins plus a bamboo or hemp foldup, with a soaker over the top. Maia is totally dry in the morning - that's 12-13 hrs from the time I put it on to when I take it off.

During the day I still use both snap ins, but I do that with all my BB's Hemp and Bamboo. I find that the BBB long snap in can only be folded over once, unlike the hemp that can be folded a few times.

I lay the short snap in first, then the long over the top, folding it towards the front of the nappy.

Do you use a liner on top of that then too Gremily? (sorry to ask a question on your thread KarniFOOL :o )

(I'm learning from you all!)

I do similar as Gremily with liner as well. We only have one bamboo BH but have 2 more coming. Loving bamboo!

You're fine Billy !! :D

Thanks em and Kym

Okay one last question.. do you fold the long snap-in completely back on itself or just half way or...

I only folded it back so that it still reaches to the very back of the nappy and what was over hanging i folded that little bit back. Am i doing it right ? oh and i hope i'm explaining it right so that it makes sense :o

ITs up to you Lauren! I don't think there is a wrong way. As long s it works huh? I think it may be different for girls and boys? On another thread someone mentioned positioning the booster so the wee gets soaked into the booster before it hits the nappy leaving baby drier.

ahh see i was thinking that it doesn't really matter aslong as it works. I guess i just didn't want it to be overly bulky and uncomfortable for her KWIM even though it's soft. So what i mean is, uncomfortable due to the snap in seems. Okay i think i'm just being silly so please excuse me :o

Thanks again Kym!! :hugs:

Billy - yeah, I use liners most of the time. There are times when I don't if I kind of know she's not going to poo and I can't find them in amongst the washing pile!

Karnifool - I fold it about 1/3. It doesn't reach up to the front of the nappy, so I guess it can't be in 1/2.

i fold the long snap-in in half & use a liner. i dont use the small snap-in cos i fold the rise down on bub.

You not being silly Lauren. :hugs: Its good to ask the questions if you need to and I know I like to talk cloth so i don't mind.

Until recently I only used the BBB with the long booster folded in thirds, so that it was in the wee zone  iykwim.

As cha has gotten bigger I have added the shorter booster in as well. I put the long one at the back folded in and the small one in the front snaps.

I used that and a pair of wool shorties for the first time last night. DH was amazed that she wasn't all soggy.

I actually do the opposite to sopolicha. The long snap in at the front and the small snap in at the back:thumbsup:
What does everyone else do?:detective:

I just love BBB's. I just got 2 more today!! So now have 4!

I use both snap ins at night with short one snapped in at front and then the long one snapped at the back over the top. I fold the long one so the bulk is at the front as I have a boy!!

I then use a fold up booster, hemp, but I just got a bamboo one to try.

I use a microfleece liner and then cover it in a knitted soaker. I just got a BB's wool cover today also!

DS is lovely and dry by morning and ive never had a leak.

Phew!!

I use both inserts for day naps and both inserts and a bamboo fold up for over night.

I always use both inserts in all BBs- hemp and bamboo and I do the same thing for all.
Small at front, large at rear folded over on itself. Never had a problem

Glad they're working out for you Lauren!
Can I ask a really stoopid question? Can bubs sleep in a soaker or a cover and also wear a growbag or a suit? Or does the 'evaporation' factor mean that clothes get a bit wet? I'm looking to buy wool- but I still don't quite get how it works in relation to wearing pj's ect!

Silly me, I had no idea that ppl swapped the different boosters around on their snaps- long one at the front or the back, etc.. I get a soggy front of the nappy and a dry back- so tomorrow night I'll experiment :D

That isn't a 'stoopid' question to me, Em, I have wondered the same thing. I prefer to have longies as his pjs. I have heard that wicking can occur cos of the compression . I still occasionally use a sleeping bag and no probs.

Sorry I know this isnt my thread my just another question if that is ok.
I received my peapods yesterday and washed them 2 times before trying them on ds. But after about 2 hours, he had leaked threw. I stuff them with the hemp/cotton inserts (folded 3 times) so I am just wondering, should I be patient and wash the inserts the recommended 5-10 times before putting him in them or do I have some duds on my hands?

Oh oh also. With Babybeehinds, do you think i need more than the short and long inserts or would i need some sort of booster?

OK sorry for barging in :D

It depends on when you're using them and how much of a pee'er your bub is!
You can use 1 which means less bulk, but also less absorbtion.
You could use both and just fold the long snap in once.
The more you fold the long snap in (making sure it's in the wee zone (either against the vagina or penis) the more absorbtion you'll have, but it'll also be slightly bulkier - but not too much.

If you're using them at night time, because it's such a long time, try adding a bamboo or hemp fold up or a booster, which adds to the absorbtion. It means it'll be quite bulky but if it gets them through the night it's alright it's alright (sorry, that last sentence just made me think of a Beetles songs:D )

I can't help you with the peapods though. I would recommend, like any hemp product, that you wash it at least 3-4 times. You'll find that over time it really will perform so much better - aging is the key!

As with many other things ;) lol

 some things improve with age.
And I agree with all that has been said.
We use the PPs and BBs as they are during the day. Our bub isn't a heavy wetter though.

I have a heavy wetter here and I always use the hemp and microfibre together in my peapods, and while I like them, they don't last o/n for me.

Thanks Kymmy for answering my q, it sounds like I should be right to use a soaker and a grobag  I'll give it a burn anyway :D
