Hi all,
Both my boys have alot of dead skin on there heads. Is this called cradle cap? If so what should i do to take it away?
Phoenix hates his hair being touched...so im hoping its something i can just put on in the bath.:fingerscrossed:

my dd's had dry scalps when younger, i washed their with sorbolene cream, and put some baby oil in their hair...and gave it a good comb later.
i was told its from not enough stimulation...brushing etc..or hard enough..
it might be psorisis-spel- though if its in the family?

DD has this and she also gets it behind her ears (thats called cradle cap too apparently), i dont have any baby oil so i have been using olive oil(lol..it works) and then a gentle wash and rub in the bath to loosen it a bit, then use a soft brush after to remove the looser ones.
I use baby oil and the Nutririch Oil from Nutrimetics - especially behind DS's ears. My DS still gets it & he's nearly 5!

Luka has this too, at 16 months. I can't get rid of it, he cries when I try to scrub his scalp...
... I like the advice "pick your battles"... I let Luka win this one .

hey guys
i have had a bit of professional help in this matter. im a hairdresser and also studied a little tricology (this is kinda like a scalp specialist)
oil will soften the skin but i have seen some cases were babies have gotten burned from just 5 mins in the sun with oil on their scalp.
IMO their are only 2 products to use.
1. the Delorenzo scalp therapy shampoo for dry scalp (the purple one)
2. or a new product called EcoKid its 100% organic made form oil but will not sit on the scalp as its in a shampoo form.
both are only avalibul at a salon and will cost about $20 - $30
the EkoKid has had some awsome feedback and i know it worked on my nephew.
hope this helps

PS
i forgot to add to make sure it is a yellow colour. if its red don't pick it.
if its not a yellow colour it may be psyrioses, then you should see a specialist

B doesn't like me picking or scratching at her head so i put a paste of bi-carb and oil on her scalp leave it for a few minutes comb it through then rinse and its gone.
