Expressing Milk & meds/alcohol...

If while brest feeding you take a med or have a drink, how many feeds do you need to express before feeding bubs again from your breast assuming that you have pre expressed your milk and have stored it?

Just curious as I take something for migrains ( not while preg) and have a wedding four months after my due date and was not sure if it was safe to drink / if I could drink?:thumbsup:

from what i know i dont think its how many you need to express more the time you need to wait till its gone from your bloodstream...not sure on meds but from what ive been told by various midwives its 1hr per alcholic drink, expressing doesnt actually clear it from your system

most meds can be safely taken, or an alternate one be used, best to check with dr, and/or pharmascist, someone who knows that you want to continue breastfeeding and will be supportive ( not all gp 's are up to date with breastfeedinbg info)
