Today is our one year wedding anniversary and instead of spending it together we are on opposite sides of Australia.

I suppose its not all doom and gloom though. Its been an incredible year! We've spent a total of about 5 months together since we married a year ago, but so much has happened in those 5 months...

We had a beautiful romantic weekend away in Berry the week before hubby left to go to Iraq for 6 months. When he got home we spent time on the Gold Coast and then the Hunter Valley for our long-awaited honeymoon.

A few weeks later we realised we had conceived a 'home-coming' baby, and it is healthy and in the right place.

He is already a doting father; and incredibly proud of his bub. And equally proud of his wife :o

In 10 days we will be able to meet each other again when his ship docks in Melbourne, and then 5 days after that we will be able to spend the night together in Melbourne city.

And most importantly of all; this morning, despite waking up alone, I realised that we are soulmates. He truly is the love of my life, and I'm so incredibly proud of everything he has done for me and for our family.

That's beautiful, PL, what a lovely real-life love story - and I know you must miss him terribly when he's not there, but I hope you take comfort in the fact that he is doing an important job for our country.

Happy Anniversary!:smiliedance:

Thanks Ladies... its a real mixed day as far as emotions go - I'm so glad I'm here with my family though to help keep my mind off it. Hubby was fortunately able to call me earlier which was fantastic - 10 sleeps to go!!!
