Is anyone a teachers aide?
I would like to work in a primary school as a teachers aide in a year or two.
Is there a course that you have to do?
Is it possible to work 5 days a week?
What is the pay like?

Im doing a correspondence course at the moment while little miss is little via Thompson Education for a Teacher's Aide. I know that TAFE also offers 2 different courses :

Certificate III in Education Support (School Assistant)
Certificate III in Education Support - Teachers Aide (Special)

As for working 5 days. It would depend on the job and who you are working with. Im sure some work 5 days others maybe do part-time or casual basis.

Im not sure about pay as I dont know what wage they would come under. Maybe check out this link and see if that is any help

I find most aides at our school anyway get relief and part time and then builf to full time. FTTA is what our district often uses as they are a specilist provider and well kown. They write their own courses whereas TAFE buy theres are then hire a trainer.
