I have several friends and my mum who have said they would like to throw me a baby shower. However I was thinking that since its my hubby and my first baby it would be nice for him to be involved too!

Traditionally a baby shower is for the women and the menfolk make themselves scarce for a few hours.

I was thinking maybe it would be nicer to have mum or some of my friends, or maybe a combo....arrange a BBQ at the local park instead? Partners and Children invited too.....

What do you guys think??

Also...when did you hvae your baby shower? I'm 14 weeks/15 on Monday now.....do you usually have them at about 28 weeks...entering the third trimester?

My shower is on the 3rd of December and im due on January 29th - making me just under 8 months right?
I think thats a non traditional shower could be a good idea - my hubby refuses to stay for mine lol - he wants to take his youngest son out for the day and leave us ladies to it....

he is helping out though - my mums coming down form Mackay to host it and he's more than happy to get the decorations up and the food preparation (i think he just wants first dibs personally ;) ) But yeh he wants to let us do our things... i think he'd get bored anyway - and as its our weekend to have DSS i thought they could do a daddy and baby day....
But yeh would love to hear more about your shower plans - im helping host mine with my mum (as ive only been to one yet my mum hasnt been to a shower at all)... Are you planning on donig games and all that or just a family/friends day out?
