I have been shopping around trying to find a "nice" looking Santa for my daughters first Santa photo's and Im really struggling!!

Some of them are skinny, look exhausted, look too young, or dont seem at all too happy to have a screaming kid on their lap!

Where is the Santa from story books - an older man with a nice chubby looking face and a pleasant, jolly nature about him?

When I was a kid I remember Santa walking around handing out lollies and asking kids what they wanted for Christmas - not sitting in his chair looking bored while waiting for the next mum to pick out what package she wants to purchase!

Maybe Im being too picky, but being the first christmas, I want a photo with a Santa that looks and acts how kids imagine!

Ive not really paid much attention to Santa in the past few years, but now that he's back in my life Im a little disappointed by what Im finding. Even though my daughter is far too young to know about Santa, I still want her to grow up with the same wonderful memories and experiences that i had as a child.

I just hope that my preliminary shopping around isnt a taste of what is in store for me when I continue my pursuits this week!

Is anyone else struggling to find the right Santa? Id be very grateful for any suggesitons on where I might find my perfect Santa in Canberra...

I know exactly what you mean!! Last year we found a lovely Santa who adored babies. He was so lovely with our 6 week old DD! I'm hoping he'll be there again this year (I think they start today actually...)

I was at a different shopping centre last week & had a quick look at the packages they had on offer & was very impressed! I was considering having DD's done there... until I looked up & saw the guy playing Santa - no thanks!

On another forum (dedicated to Gymboree - I know...I'm sad!:o ) a woman lined up with 3 children for 2 hours and 40 minutes to get a photo with a fantastic Santa...don't get too excited though, it was in the States...but how good is this Santa!!!

Prob can't see cause the avatar is small, but we had our photo at David Jones, and he was lovely and really good with babies, we went on a weekday to avoid the crowd and it was great cause we were the only ones there. I think a crowd would overwhelm the little ones. Plus because they weren't busy and were using digital, they took heaps of photos for me to go thru.

well i saw a great santa the other day, only thing is he wasn't suited up:laughing: it was this man, had the perfect santa beard and face, snata belly too etc. i whispered to dd look it's santa, but i bet he gets it all the time, of course part of me just is believing it was santa....:xmas:

i always find that myers santas are the best. in this area, not a huge choice here though.

We're not doing the whole santa photos thing.

We have the equipment and creativity to make our own christmas photo for the rellies, even a santa suit if we feel the need.

Up till I was 15 everyone in my family did the myers santa thing, then my aunt got a suit and did the photo with her kids and husband dressed as santa herself! LOL The next year dad (her brother) got one and they both were in the pic dressed as santa with all the kids.

Much more personal, much more fun, much better memories. All you need is one person in the family with a good camera!
