For those who know me...I am a huge animal lover. Well...three days ago two dogs (a yellow pup and a old boarder collie) ended up on my property (so me being me) I kept an eye on them and didn't feed them or pay any attention to them the first day they were here (thinking they would GO HOME!) Well by the second morning I went down to the shed and had a closer inspection.. They have no collars and are a complete MESS! The older dog is limping and full of matts, and the pup is sooo skinny. If you slightly raise your voice (even to talk to someone on the other side of the yard) they go to jelly and nearly pee themselves:crying:

So Bindi to the rescue .. I fed them up and generally looked after them..Now only problem is it's been three days and no one wants them.. I can't find an owner and with no tags or collar it's IMPOSSABLE. I have made 12 phone calls today alone and no one wants to know me. I rang RSPCA, the local council and other people that rescue dogs. NO one works on weekends (of course no dog EVER goes missing on the weekend!!)

I was told "not our problem" and "you'll have to wait" and endless droning answering machines!!
This is what I get for trying to help!!

It would be no problem for me to keep them for a while except I can't keep them in my yard as the older dog and my dog want to KILL each other, but the pup is fine. So I've sent DP off to scour the sheds for some chain to tie them up (or they'll get hit by one of the trucks!)

Sorry but I just needed to vent because i suspect they are dumped and am so mad about peopel who generally don't give a sh!t about there dogs!!:banghead: Why won't anyone help these poor animals?!?!?!?

OK vent over

its ridiculous how some ppl treat animals. i had a friend who got a dog and she kept it inside her one room apartment all the time, ground level apartment, but never took it for a walk, then would beat it up when it pee'd of poohed in the unit. the house already looked like a bomb had hit it anyways, and if she took the dog for a walk then it prolly wouldnt have done its business inside anyway.
stup!d ppl dont deserve animals. i only hope that those dogs do end up finding a good home.

Hi,
unfortunately being a vet nurse we see this all the time, and the RSPCA and other animal shelters are so understaffed, underfunded and overworked, they run out of room to put animals and so many are put to sleep, as these dogs probably will be unfortunately. that is no help for people like you who look after there animals and act responsibly. I hope you find someone to take them off your hands.

are they not microchipped?

If not, then that sucks.

Their condition might just be a result of them being on the run for a while. If my dog went missing for more than a couple of days then she would be matted and skinny as well, but she sure isn't neglected and she wouldn't have been dumped.

Hopefully you find them their original home or a new home soon. Good luck and good on you for being a good samaritan.

I can't believe it...I found the dogs owner!!

He delivered a flyer in our mailbox this morning and I rang him..

Apparently he had to go away for the week and they both slipped their collars (hence No collars or tags) He came home and they were gone, he didn't know how long they were gone and was up ALL NIGHT looking for them. I feel so bad because I thought they were dumped, but if they were on the run all week then they'd look like cr@p (cr@p) (I am so emotional at the moment, so I'll put this mornings vent down to that :o  ) b
ut now they have gone home and he offered a reward (which i declined) as he was just so happy to have them back!!:smiliedance: :smiliedance:

I just LOVE a happy pet ending!
