We are now weaning and the only bf we have left is the 1st one for the day 6.30(happy to keep that for a little while). However, my little angel wakes for the past two weeks on the buzzer at 4.58am.
bf or resettle? Hve tried both and would like to make a decicion to stick to one but cant decide. Bf is quicker, but really dont think she is hungry, resettle is longer. I think im talking myself into resettle are there any other options?
ignore? just kidding :D .
Theres now way in hell I am letting 4.58 be our start of the day time. LOL!
I feel for you! My little one has decided 5am is the start of the day, no matter what i try to deter him with.
I have just decided to live with it (for now). Hubby and I have come to a sort of 'truce' where he will get him up at 5 and entertain him for 30mins or more until he has to get ready for work, then he'll bring him into me in bed to feed him. So I am lucky to stay in bed until 6 most mornings, even if I am still awake.
Its hard!! I'm hoping it will eventually change, or I will just get used to being an early-bird :D
I'd be surprised if your bub isn't hungry or thirsty and that's why she's waking earlier. Don't forget they only have little tummies so if you cut down on feeds overnight she's going to need it sooner to make up for the longer stretch between. The breast is also a lot more to babies and infants than just a food source so perhaps she is also seeking reassurance through the weaning process. In terms of helping a baby to sleep, bf is almost always going to be the quickest. I can't really help you with parent-led weaning as I don't practice it. I hope you find a solution that works for you both :)

I hate to break this to you but you don't get a lot of say in the matter! I have two who wake at about that time every day - no matter what we do. If I can breast feed DD2 and get her back into bed before DD1 appears she will sleep for another hour - resettling doesn't achieve that. So my advice is - go with the feed or get used to waking up that early.

How old is bubs??? breast milk has a low calorie so don't wean her at nights unless she has good sized meals and you know she is full. My dd didn't stop feeding thru the night until she was 10mnths. Let her have her feed and try in a week if you don't want to do it try to stall her until 5.30 etc....
There is no way I would let weaning interrupt my sleep, not much use having grumpy bubs and grumpy mummy!!

kirra is 6 3/4 months.
CAn you keep bfeeding thru the night if they need it and once for the first feed of the day, if the rest is bottle. Does you milk "dry up"?
You should be able to keep producing as long as she is feeding - but the more bf she has, the better your mlik production will be. Without judging or getting too personal - any way you can also feed her in the evening? Those feeds should be enough to keep your supply up and her happy.

isnt it funny how things change so quickly. The breastfeeding it seems was not for her, she starting rejecting me to a certain extent. Is that a self wean?? any hoo.. I think it was better as she sleeps longer on formula and seems to be a lot happier, I just dont think I cracked it for her. :) Happy baby happy mummy as they say.
