:xmas: Hi There, With all this Christmas chat it has got me thinking about gifts. And when it's Ok to put them under the tree.

:tree: Do you wait until Christmas eve or put them under as you wrap them up?

:reindeer: I like to wait until I have mine all wrapped up, and just put the ones from Santa under the tree on Christmas eve. I do this cause I love to wrap gifts, so all they look really nice. So by doing this I get to look at them for longer :o

So what do you do in your house?

I am always at my parents house for Xmas and the presents go out Xmas Eve. My dad can't control himself and starts snooping!

We put them all under on Christmas eve, although the kids know that prezzies are wrapped (all the family prezzies) but it gives the "illusion" of lots under the tree if they all go out at the same time.

Mmmmm I must admit it I'm a prezzie picker too! I just can't help myself :shame:

:tree: And leaving it until Christmas eve does give the illusion of heaps more prezzies under the tree.

 Ours go under the tree as soon as they are wrapped however Avalon will be 14 months this year so not sure if that will happen. When the other 2 were this age I had to put them up on a table, which I no longer have but am thinking about putting the tree in the portable cot this year so it can't be destroyed.

When we were childless we'd put the pressies under the tree as soon as they were bought and wrapped.

This year we'll be bringing them out xmas eve night :)

I usually put it as soon as they are wrapped. I remember the year Jess was born. I had done my Christmas shopping on the Thurs (2nd December) before she was born and had left my presents to be wrapped next to the tv. I had Jess on the Mon (6 Dec)and didn't get released till the 18 Dec (due to Jess have low blood sugar levels and me high blood pressure).

I got home to find that my mother thinking she was being nice had cleaned the house and put all the presents away thinking that we hadn't unpacked the bags  and had left the house in a mess and thought she would give me a hand a clean the house from top to bottom. I was so mad .

It took me nearly 5 days to find all the presents to be wrapped. My hubbie hadn't touched the bags as he knew I told him that they needed to be wrapped and put under the tree (he's a bit of neat freak too).

This year I have hidden all my presents at mum and dad's place and will collect them on X'mas Eve to put under the tree.

My family has always left it until Christmas Eve - that way we'd wake up Christmas morning to a tree with tonnes of pressies under it and full Santa stockings at the end of our beds ... I've just continued with that tradition and it definately has the bonus that little fingers can :xmas: 't get too nosy!

We always used to put the presents out once the tree was up, but now that DS is toddling, we will put them out christmas eve. Who knows where they would end up other wise!

we had family from interstate here so i got them to do the tree with the kids...

so its already up! :tree:

we put all the pressies that are for family or each other under the tree now...

my older kids dont touch the gifts but do play around with the decorations, always moving them around..my 4 year old ds is too interested in the xmas train to care about the gifts!

when my eldest was little she said on christmas morning " oh look mummy santa has the same sticky tape and wrap as you!"

now all the "family" pressies are wrapped in foil wraps and "santa" pressies are wrapped in all the bright christmas paper with different tape and tags..

Christmas eve. I can't handle DS trying to climb up onto the dining room table very 5 mins (where I'll put the tree) to get at them. And I think that even then, and Christmas eve I won't put them up under the tree but instead put them on the floor in the middle of the room for when we all get up.

Our tree is already up, DD1 put it up 2 days ago.
Our pressies go under as soon as they are wrapped, special gifts from santa are put under the tree on xmas eve and filled stockings are the same.
This year the girls and I are going to NZ for xmas so we are going to have our australian xmas on the 19th so daddy dosnt miss out (he is working and cant get it off unfortunately so has to stay in Oz)

:tree: We are putting up the tree at my Mum's today!

Only because it's Tom's 3rd birthday party next weekend  She makes us wait until the 1st. But no pressies until Christmas eve in her house  But we all are pressie pickers:devil6:
