I kept meaning to get one but never got around to it. So far I've survived without one :D

(But they look fun )

I really, really, really need one. I'd been trying to find them in Bunnings (as they were cheap) but it turns out they've had a massive price rise and are now $72! Compared with $45 only a few months ago!
So I'm probably going to order one from a nice WAHM.

I have survived so far but I think it would be easier with one.

I've survived 9yrs without one. I can't see the point in having one to be honest.

I use flushable liners, and I have my 3rd child in cloth nappies. I have not had a little squirt for any of them.

I flush the soiled liners and faeces, and put the wet liners in the compost bin, as they are made of paper.

 I've never used one and am pg with #4.I just put the liner on the front face of the loo and hold it while I flush.Always worked-you just have to wash your hands afterwrds:laughing:

Flushing just doesn't work for me. Maybe it's my toilet?? I also can't use flushable liners as I have a spetic system. Unless there's new fancy ones that are safe for septic?
Thanks for that zarasmum, might check out reece.

Depends how you are with poo I guess as to whether they are essential  For me, I am poo- phobic so I need to get one.

I don't know if the flushable liners are safe for septic systems.

The ones I am using are Bambino Mio, but Nature's Child have the same ones packaged under their own label. Maybe you could enquire about the suitability for a septic system with either Nature's Child, or Baby Bunting stores (Vic) who stock the Bambino Mio ones.

It's possible to do cloth without a LS but the LS does make life soooooooo much easier.

So far with the breastfed poos we don't need one - they just wash out... but me thinks i will get one when solids start!

I never worried about getting one. I've always managed without it, got as much poo as I felt necessary off, and if I couldn't get all of it off I'd just hose it off a bit in the garden (very rarely though).
However, I'm sure having a Little Squirt would be very handy and would make it a bit easier to clean the nappy.

There's no point in me getting one now as DD2 has formed poos and it's pretty rare for her to have a runny one (unless she's sick), so all of the poop just rolls off the liner. A bit of scraping here and there, but I'm not one to get squeemish about my hands getting dirty.

Neither option. We've always done fine without one, but other people seem to love them. Each to their own!

I've never needed one - DS is 90% breastfed and his poos are just absorbed into the nappy. I just throw it in the wash. I would consider it when he's older.

Thank you everyone for your replies!! :hugs:

Very helpful  I will consider it very carefully... I have got a reece store near me so I may go in and have a look if they're that price!!

Thanx again! :D

I havent really needed one yet. I just flush it off the liner into the toilet. Poo doesnt really bother me!

I wouldn't need one if it was just my toddler. But having a baby that is mainly breastfed with only a small amount of solids does not make for poo that comes off the nappy easily!

I don't have one, too stingey. If someone gave me one I am sure I would love it, but we have managed with a tap and a spatula so far.

I would love one and it is at the top of the priority list when we have our next bub! I prefer to get my hand dirty than use disgustables but if there is an easier option... :-D Im all for it! Not much point getting one just yet. With DD- her expletives are mostly plasticiny and just roll straight off into the loo!

A spatula, OMG I would :barf: if I had to do that! I do the flush in the toilet and a bit of a shake and even that not good for my appetite.

Yeah, Kym- be have to arrange our trade anyway so I'll PM you tomoz.

ha ha they must breed em tough where I come from then, but it is just breastfed paste and the tap gets most of it.

Harden up LOL!!!

I must say if it was just the one doing the poos it probably wouldn't be as important. But DS1 eats a lot of fruit and has a slightly yucky tummy, and his poos don't just roll of like his BF brother's :barf:

I only use a cloth nappy for DD to lay on when she is having nappy free time.

I bought a rubber hose thingo from Safeway for about $6. (I think that there are normally meant to be attached to the bath tap for washing kids hair).

I took the shower end off it and flattened the end to get a good spray, and in my tiny ensuite, the hose was just long enough to put on the tap and wash all the poo into the loo.

It was easy to do, but I didn't have to do it everyday. I don't think it would work in a big bathroom though.

I don't have one but so far we only deal with bf baby explosives- I just throw them as are in the machine, prob do the loo flush trick when we start having solids- in more ways than one.
